Joel 3

1 Pues he aquí que en aquellos días y en aquel tiempo, cuando Yo repatriare a los cautivos de Judá y de Jerusalén,

For behold, in those days and at that time, When I shall bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem,

2 congregaré a todos los gentiles y los haré bajar al valle de Josafat; y allí disputaré con ellos en favor de mi pueblo e Israel, la herencia mía, que ellos esparcieron entre las naciones, repartiéndose entre sí mi tierra.

I will assemble all the nations, And will bring them down it to the valley of Jehoshaphat, And there will I contend with them for my people and inheritance, Israel; Because they scattered them among the nations, And divided my land among themselves.

3 Echaron suertes sobre mi pueblo, y dieron un muchacho por una prostituta; y vendieron una doncella por vino para beber.

Yea, they cast lots for my people, And gave a boy for a harlot, And sold a damsel for wine to drink.

4 En fin ¿qué sois vosotros para Mí, oh Tiro y Sidón, y todas las regiones de Filistea? ¿Por ventura queréis vengaros de Mí? Si queréis vengaros de Mí, ligera y prontamente haré recaer vuestra maldad sobre vuestra cabeza.

What have ye to do with me, O Tyre and Sidon, And all the borders of Philistia? Will ye retaliate on me? Or will ye do anything against me? Swiftly and speedily will I bring back your doings upon your own head.

5 Porque tomasteis mi plata y mi oro, y os llevasteis a vuestros templos mis joyas preciosas,

Ye have taken my silver and my gold, And have carried into your palaces my precious, goodly things;

6 y vendisteis los hijos de Judá y los de Jerusalén a los griegos, llevándolos lejos de su país.

The sons also of Judah, and the sons of Jerusalem, Ye have sold to the Grecians, That ye might remove them far from their border.

7 He aquí que Yo los suscitaré del lugar donde los vendisteis, y haré recaer vuestra maldad sobre vuestra cabeza.

Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, And I will return your injury upon your own head;

8 Venderé vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas en mano de los hijos de Judá, que los venderán a los sabeos, gente lejana; pues (así) ha hablado Yahvé.

I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, And they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation afar off; For Jehovah hath spoken it.

9 Proclamad esto entre los gentiles; preparaos para la guerra, despertad a los valientes. Vengan y suban todos los hombres de guerra.

Proclaim ye this among the nations: “Prepare war! Stir up the mighty ones! Let all the warriors draw near; let them come up!”

10 Forjad espadas de vuestros azadones, y lanzas de vuestras hoces; diga el débil: “Yo soy fuerte.”

Beat your ploughshares into swords, And your pruning-hooks into spears; Let the weak say, I am strong!

11 Apresuraos y venid, gentes todas de en derredor, y congregaos; ¡y Tú, Yahvé, conduce allí tus campeones!

Assemble yourselves and come, all ye nations round about; Gather yourselves together! Thither, O Jehovah, bring down thy mighty ones!

12 ¡Levántense y asciendan los gentiles al valle de Josafat! porque allí me sentaré para juzgar a todos los gentiles a la redonda.

Let the nations rise and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat! For there will I sit to judge all the nations around.

13 Echad la hoz, porque la mies está ya madura, venid y pisad, porque lleno está el lagar; se desbordan las tinas; pues su iniquidad es grande.

Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; Come and tread, for the wine-press is full; The vats overflow; For their wickedness is great!

14 Muchedumbres, muchedumbres hay en el valle de la Sedición, porque se acerca el día de Yahvé en el valle de la Sedición.

The multitudes, the multitudes in the valley of judgment! For the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of judgment.

15 El sol y la luna se oscurecen, y las estrellas pierden su resplandor.

The sun and the moon are darkened, And the stars withdraw their shining.

16 Yahvé ruge desde Sión, y desde Jerusalén hace oír su voz; y tiemblan el cielo y la tierra. Mas Yahvé es el refugio de su pueblo, y la fortaleza de los hijos de Israel.

Jehovah also will roar from Zion, And utter his voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and the earth shall shake. But Jehovah will be a refuge to his people! A strong-hold to the sons of Israel.

17 Entonces conoceréis que Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios, que habito en Sión, mi santo monte. Jerusalén será santa, y ya no pasarán por ella los extraños.

Then shall ye know that I am Jehovah your God, Dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain; And Jerusalem shall be holy; Strangers shall pass through her no more.

18 En aquel día los montes destilarán mosto, y manarán leche los collados; todos los torrentes de Judá correrán llenos de agua, y de la Casa de Yahvé saldrá una fuente que regará el valle de las Acacias.

In that day shall the mountains drop down new wine, And the hills shall flow with milk. And all the streams of Judah shall flow with water. A fountain shall come forth from the house of Jehovah, That shall water the valley of Shittim.

19 Egipto será una desolación, y Edom un desierto abandonado, a causa de la opresión (que infligieron) a los hijos de Judá; pues derramaron sangre inocente en su tierra.

Egypt shall be a waste, And Edom a desolate wilderness, For their violence against the sons of Judah; For they shed innocent blood in their land.

20 Mas Judá quedará habitada por siempre, y Jerusalén de generación en generación.

But Judah shall be inhabited for ever, And Jerusalem from generation to generation.

21 Y Yo vengaré la sangre de ellos, que no había sido vengada. Y Yahvé morará en Sión.

And I will avenge their blood, which I have not avenged, And Jehovah will dwell upon Zion.
