Job 37
1 “Por esto tiembla mi corazón, y salta de su lugar.
"Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
2 Oíd, oíd el trueno de su voz, el ruido que sale de su boca.
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
3 Lo hace retumbar por toda la extensión del cielo, y su fulgor brilla hasta los confines de la tierra.
He sends it forth under the whole sky, and his lightning to the farthest parts of the earth.
4 Tras de Él se oye una voz rugiente; pues truena con la voz de su majestad; y no retiene más (los rayos) cuando se oye su voz.
After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn't hold back anything when his voice is heard.
5 Truena la voz de Dios y obra maravillas, hace cosas grandes e inescrutables.
God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can't comprehend.
6 Pues a la nieve dice: «¡Baja a la tierra!» Él (envía) la lluvia y los aguaceros torrenciales.
For he says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth;' likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
7 Sobre la mano de todos pone un sello, para que todos conozcan Su obra.
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
8 Las fieras se retiran a sus cubiles, y descansan en sus guaridas.
Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
9 De sus cámaras sale el huracán, y del norte viene el frío.
Out of its chamber comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
10 Al soplo de Dios se forma el hielo, y en su derretimiento se ensanchan las aguas.
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the breadth of the waters is frozen.
11 Él carga con vapor la nube, y la nube esparce sus fulgores,
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
12 que dando vueltas según sus planes hacen lo que Él manda sobre la redondez de la tierra;
It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
13 ora para corrección de su tierra, ora para mostrar su misericordia.
Whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
14 Esto, oh Job, escúchalo bien, detente, y considera las maravillas de Dios.
"Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15 ¿Sabes tú cómo Dios las realiza, y cómo hace relampaguear la luz de sus nubes?
Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
16 ¿Conoces tú el balanceo de las nubes, las maravillas de Aquel que es perfecto en saber?
Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
17 ¿ (Sabes) tú por qué se calientan tus vestidos, cuando la tierra se calla bajo el soplo del Austro?
You whose clothing is warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
18 ¿Extendiste tú con Él el firmamento, tan sólido como un espejo fundido?
Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
19 Díganos qué debemos responderle, ya que no sabemos qué decirle, siendo como somos ignorantes.
Teach us what we shall tell him, for we can't make our case by reason of darkness.
20 Mas ¿hay que contarle lo que yo digo? pues el hombre, por más que hable, no es más que una nada.
Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
21 Ahora ya no se ve la luz, aquel resplandor en el firmamento; pasó el viento, y lo deja despejado.
Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
22 Del norte viene áureo (brillo), la terrible majestad, que envuelve a Dios.
Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
23 Él Todopoderoso, el inaccesible, es grande en poder y juicio, es rico en justicia, y no oprime a nadie.
We can't reach Shaddai. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
24 Por eso han de temerlo los hombres: no mira Él a los que se creen sabios.”
Therefore men revere him. He doesn't regard any who are wise of heart."
