Isaías 57
1 El justo perece, y no hay quien se conduela; son arrebatados los hombres piadosos, y nadie advierte que el justo es quitado para eximirlo del mal.
See how the just man has perished, and no one lays [it] to heart: and righteous men are taken away, and no one considers: for the righteous has been removed out of the way of injustice.
2 Entra en la paz; descansan en sus moradas los que anduvieron con rectitud.
His burial shall be in peace: he has been removed out of the way.
3 Mas vosotros acercaos aquí, hijos de la hechicera, descendencia de la adúltera y de la ramera.
But draw you near hither, you lawless children, the seed of adulterers and the harlot.
4 ¿De quién os burláis? ¿Contra quién ensancháis la boca y sacáis la lengua? ¿No sois hijos de pecado, linaje de mentira?
Wherein have you been rioting? and against whom have you opened your mouth, and against whom have you loosed your tongue? are you not children of perdition? a lawless seed?
5 Os inflamáis de concupiscencia bajo cada terebinto y bajo todo árbol frondoso, y sacrificáis a los niños en los valles de los torrentes, en las hendiduras de las rocas.
who call upon idols under the leafy trees, slaying your children in the valleys amongst the rocks?
6 Las piedras del torrente serán tu herencia; ellas, ellas son tu suerte, porque a ellas les derramaste libaciones y les presentaste ofrendas. ¿Y por ello no he de indignarme?
That is your portion, this is your lot: and to them have you poured forth drink-offerings, and to these have you offered meat-offerings. Shall I not therefore be angry for these things?
7 Sobre un monte alto y encumbrado colocaste tu lecho, y allí subes para inmolar víctimas.
On a lofty and high mountain, there is your bed, and there you carried up your meat-offerings:
8 Detrás de la puerta y los postes pusiste tu memorial, y lejos de Mí te desnudaste, allí subiste a tu lecho y lo ensanchaste, vendiéndote a aquellos cuyo comercio amabas, y cuyo signo veías.
and behind the posts of your door you did place your memorials. Did you think that if you should depart from me, you would gain? you have loved those that lay with you;
9 Llevaste ungüentos al rey, y multiplicaste tus unciones; enviaste lejos a tus legados, y descendiste hasta el scheol. (Sheol h7585)
and you have multiplied your whoredom with them, and you have increased the number of them that are far from you, and have sent ambassadors beyond your borders, and have been debased even to hell. (Sheol h7585)
10 Te fatigaste en el largo camino, pero no dijiste: “Es en vano.” Hallaste cómo avivar tus fuerzas, por eso no te debilitaste.
You has wearied yourself with your many ways; yet you said not, I will cease to strengthen myself: for you has done these things; therefore you has not supplicated me.
11 ¿A quién temiste, acongojada, para renegar de Mí, para no acordarte de Mí, ni parar mientes en ello? ¿No es porque Yo callaba desde largo tiempo? Por eso no me tuviste miedo.
Through dread of whom have you feared, and lied against me, and has not remembered, nor considered me, nor regarded me, yes, though when I see you I pass you by, yet you has not feared me.
12 Ahora haré conocer cuál es tu justicia, y cuáles tus obras que no te aprovecharán.
And I will declare your righteousness, and your sins, which shall not profit you.
13 Cuando clames, ¡líbrete tu colección (de imágenes)! Mas el viento se las llevará a todas; un soplo las arrebatará: pero el que se refugia en Mí, heredará la tierra, y poseerá mi santo monte.
When you cry out, let them deliver you in your affliction: for all these the wind shall take, and the tempest shall carry [them] away: but they that cleave to me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.
14 Y se dirá: ¡Allanad, haced terraplenes, despejad el camino; levantad los tropiezos del camino de mi pueblo!
And they shall say, Clear the ways before him, and take up the stumbling blocks out of the way of my people.
15 Porque así dice el Alto, el Excelso, cuya morada es eterna, y cuyo nombre es el Santo: Yo habito en la altura y en la santidad, y también en los (de corazón) contrito, y en los humildes de espíritu, para vivificar el espíritu de los humildes, y reanimar el corazón de los contritos.
Thus says the Most High, who dwells on high for ever, Holy in the holies, is his name, the Most High resting in the holies, and giving patience to the faint-hearted, and giving life to the broken-hearted:
16 Pues no para siempre quiero litigar, ni guardar eternamente la ira; porque desfallecería ante Mí el espíritu de las vidas que Yo he creado.
I will not take vengeance on you for ever, neither will I be always angry with you: for my Spirit shall go forth from me, and I have created all breath.
17 Por culpa de su codicia me irrité y le castigué, escondí (mi rostro) y me airé, pero él en su perversidad siguió los caminos de su corazón.
On account of sin for a little while I grieved him, and struck him, and turned away my face from him; and he was grieved, and he went on sorrowful in his ways.
18 Yo he visto sus caminos, y le sanaré; Yo seré su guía y le consolaré a él y a sus afligidos;
I have seen his ways, and healed him, and comforted him, and given him true comfort;
19 Yo que creo la paz, fruto de los labios, paz para el que está lejos y para el que está cerca, Yo le sanaré. Así dice Yahvé.
peace upon peace to them that are far off, and to them that are near: and the Lord has said, I will heal them.
20 Mas los impíos son como un mar alborotado que no puede calmarse y cuyas aguas revuelven el barro y el lodo.
But the unrighteous shall be tossed as troubled waves, and shall not be able to rest.
21 No hay paz para los impíos, dice mi Dios.
There is no joy to the ungodly, said God.
