Isaías 16
1 Enviad los corderos al dominador del país, desde Sela, desde el desierto, al monte de la hija de Sión.
Send ye the lambs to the ruler of the land, From Selah through the wilderness To the mount of the daughter of Zion!
2 Como aves espantadas, echadas de su nido, así serán las hijas de Moab en los vados del Arnón.
For as a wandering bird, As a forthdriven nest, So shall be the daughters of Moab At the fords of Arnon; [[saying, ]]
3 “Danos consejo, decide tú; haz tu sombra como noche en pleno mediodía; esconde a los perseguidos, no traiciones a los que andan errantes.
“Offer counsel; give decision, Make thy shadow at noonday like the darkness of night. Hide the outcasts; Betray not the fugitives.
4 Deja habitar contigo a los fugitivos de Moab; sé tú para ellos un asilo contra el desolador. Cuando cese la opresión y se acabe la devastación, cuando desaparezca del país el opresor,
Let my outcasts dwell with thee, [[O Zion!]] Be thou to them a covert from the spoiler! For the extortion is at an end, The spoiling ceaseth. The oppressors are consumed from the land.
5 entonces será establecido misericordiosamente un trono, sobre el cual se sentará sin faltar, en el tabernáculo de David, un juez que busca lo justo y no tarda en hacer justicia.”
Then shall your throne be established through mercy, And upon it shall sit in the house of David A judge searching for justice, and prompt in equity.”
6 Conocemos la soberbia de Moab, que es orgulloso en extremo, su arrogancia, su altivez, su saña, su falta de sinceridad en el hablar.
“We have beard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud; His haughtiness, and his pride, and his insolence, His vain boastings.”
7 Por eso laméntese Moab por Moab; que se lamenten juntos. Gemid, consternados, por las tortas de uvas de Kir-Haróset.
Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab; Every one shall howl; For the ruins of Kir-hares shall ye mourn, In deep affliction.
8 Pues los campos de Hesbón están marchitos; los señores de las naciones han destruido las viñas escogidas de Sibmá, las que se extendían hasta Jazer y se perdían en el desierto, cuyos sarmientos llegaban muy lejos hasta la otra parte del mar.
For the fields of Heshbon languish, The lords of the nations break down the choicest shoots of the vine of Sibmah, They reached even to Jazer; they wandered into the desert; Her branches were spread out; they crossed the sea.
9 Por lo cual lloro con Jazer por la viña de Sibmá; te riego con mis lágrimas, oh Hesbón y Elealé; porque sobre tus frutos y sobre tu mies vino el grito del (que pisa el), lagar.
Therefore I will weep, like Jazer, for the vine of Sibmah; I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealah, For upon thy summer fruits, and thy harvest, the war-shout is fallen.
10 El gozo y la alegría se han retirado del campo fructífero; no se oyen canciones ni gritos de júbilo en las viñas; y no hay pisador que exprima el vino en los lagares; he hecho cesar la alegría del (que pisa) el lagar.
Gladness and joy are driven from the fruitful field, And in the vineyards is no singing nor shouting; The treaders tread out no wine in their vats; I have made the vintage-shouting to cease.
11 Por eso mis entrañas vibran cual cítara por causa de Moab, y mi corazón por Kir-Hares.
Therefore shall my bowels sound like a harp for Moab, And my inward parts for Kir-hares.
12 Se verá cómo Moab se fatigará sobre el lugar alto; entrará en su santuario para orar, y no conseguirá nada.
And it shall come to pass that though Moab present himself, Though he weary himself upon his high places, And go up to his sanctuary to pray, Yet shall he not prevail.
13 Esta es la palabra que Yahvé tiempo ha pronunció contra Moab.
This is the word which Jehovah spake concerning Moab of old.
14 Mas ahora habla Yahvé así: “Dentro de tres años, (contados) como años de jornalero, será cubierta de oprobio la gloria de Moab, con toda su gran multitud; y quedarán algunos pocos, muy pocos y débiles.”
But now saith Jehovah: Within three years, like the years of a hireling, The glory of Moab shall be put to shame, With all his great multitude; And the remnant shall be very small, and without strength.
