Oseas 12
1 Efraím se apacienta de viento, y corre tras el viento del oriente, todo el día está aumentando las mentiras y los actos de violencia; hace pacto con Asiria, y a Egipto lleva aceite.
But Ephraim is an evil spirit, he has chased the east wind all the day: he has multiplied empty and vain things, and made a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil has gone in the way of traffic into Egypt.
2 También contra Judá se querellará Yahvé, y castigará a Jacob conforme a su conducta; según sus obras le retribuirá.
And the Lord [has] a controversy with Juda, in order to punish Jacob: according to his ways and according to his practices will he recompense him.
3 En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano, y en su edad madura luchó con Dios.
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his labours he had power with God.
4 Luchó con el ángel, y prevaleció; lloró y le pidió gracia. En Betel le halló, y allí habló con nosotros.
And he prevailed with the angel and was strong: they wept, and intreated me: they found me in the house of On, and there [a word] was spoken to them.
5 Yahvé que es el Dios de los ejércitos; Yahvé es su Nombre.
But the Lord God Almighty shall be his memorial.
6 “Conviértete a tu Dios; guarda la misericordia y la justicia, y espera siempre en tu Dios”.
Thou therefore shalt return to thy God: keep thou mercy and judgment, and draw nigh to thy God continually.
7 Siendo mercader, que tiene en sus manos balanza falsa, se complace en engañar.
[As for] Chanaan, in his hand is a balance of unrighteousness: he has loved to tyrannize.
8 Dice Efraím: “Con todo, me he hecho rico, he adquirido riquezas; con todas mis ganancias no se hallará en mí culpa que sea pecado.”
And Ephraim said, Nevertheless I am rich, I have found refreshment to myself. None of his labours shall be found [available] to him, by reason of the sins which he has committed.
9 Yo soy Yahvé, tu Dios, desde la tierra de Egipto; Yo haré que habites otra vez en tiendas, como en días de la fiesta.
But I the Lord thy God brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: I will yet cause thee to dwell in tabernacles, according to the days of the feast.
10 Yo hablé a los profetas, haciéndoles ver muchas visiones; por medio de los profetas me he manifestado en parábolas.
And I will speak to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by the means of the prophets I was represented.
11 Si Galaad es vanidad, también ellos son vanidad. En Gálgala sacrifican toros, y sus altares son como montones de piedras en los surcos del campo.
If Galaad exists not, then the chiefs in Galaad when they sacrificed were false, and their altars were as heaps on the ground of the field.
12 Huyó Jacob al país de Siria, por una mujer Israel se hizo siervo, y por una esposa apacentó (ovejas).
And Jacob retreated into the plain of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and waited for a wife.
13 Por mano de un profeta Yahvé sacó a Israel de Egipto, y lo salvó por medio de un profeta.
And the Lord brought Israel out of the land of Egypt by a prophet, and by a prophet was he preserve.
14 Efraím ha provocado a su Señor con amargos pecados; por lo cual hará caer sobre él la sangre derramada, y le dará la paga por sus ultrajes.
Ephraim was angry and excited, therefore his blood shall be poured out upon him, and the Lord shall recompense to him his reproach.
