Hageo 1
1 El año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, el día primero del mes, llegó la palabra de Yahvé por medio del profeta Ageo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y a Jesús, hijo del Sumo Sacerdote Josedec, en estos términos:
In the second year of king Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord through means of Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, the governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
2 “Así habla Yahvé de los ejércitos: Este pueblo dice: «No ha llegado aún el tiempo; el tiempo de reedificar la Casa de Yahvé».”
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, saying, This people have said, The time is not yet come, the time for the Lord's house to be built.
3 Entonces habló Yahvé, por medio del profeta Ageo, diciendo:
And the word of the Lord came by means of Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 “¿Ha llegado acaso para vosotros el tiempo de habitar en vuestras casas artesonadas, en tanto que esta Casa está en ruinas?
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled houses, while this house lieth in ruins?
5 Pues, así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Reflexionad sobre vuestro proceder.
Now therefore, thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Direct your heart unto your ways.
6 Habéis sembrado mucho, y recogido poco; coméis, y no os hartáis; bebéis, y no apagáis la sed; os vestís, y no os calentáis; el que gana salario, lo echa en saco roto.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but it doth not satisfy hunger; ye drink, but it doth not appease thirst; ye clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he that earneth something earneth it for a bag with holes.
7 Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Reflexionad sobre vuestro proceder.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Direct your heart to your ways.
8 Subid al monte, traed maderas y reedificad la Casa, y Yo me complaceré en ella y seré glorificado, dice Yahvé.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house: that I may take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith the Lord.
9 Esperabais mucho, y he aquí que (cosechasteis) poco; y lo trajisteis a casa, mas Yo soplé en ello. ¿Por qué?, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos. Porque mi Casa está en ruinas, mientras cada uno de vosotros se da prisa para (reconstruir) su propia casa.
[Till now] ye looked for much, and lo, it came to be little; and when ye brought it home, I blew upon it. For what cause? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lieth in ruins, while ye run every man unto his own house.
10 Por eso, por vuestra culpa el cielo detiene el rocío, y la tierra no da su fruto.
Therefore do the heavens for your sake withhold the dew, and the earth withholdeth her products.
11 Pues Yo llamé la sequía sobre la tierra; sobre los montes y sobre el trigo; sobre el mosto y sobre el aceite; sobre cuanto produce la tierra; sobre los nombres y sobre las bestias, y sobre toda labor de manos.
And I called for a drought over the land, and over the mountains, and over the corn, and over the new wine, and over the oil, and over what the ground bringeth forth, and over men, and over cattle, and over all the labor of the hands.
12 Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y el Sumo Sacerdote Jesús, hijo de Josedec, y todo el resto del pueblo, escucharon la voz de Yahvé, su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Ageo, todo lo que Yahvé, su Dios, le había encargado decir; y el pueblo temió a Yahvé.
Then hearkened Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of the Lord their God, and to the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people were afraid of the Lord.
13 Entonces Ageo, enviado de Dios, habló por orden de Yahvé al pueblo, diciendo: “Yo estoy con vosotros”, dice Yahvé.
Then said Haggai the messenger of the Lord by the Lord's message unto the people saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.
14 Y despertó Yahvé el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y el espíritu de Jesús, hijo del Sumo Sacerdote Josedec, y el espíritu de todo el resto del pueblo; y vinieron y trabajaron en la reconstrucción de la Casa de Yahvé de los ejércitos, su Dios.
And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, the governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they came and did work on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God.
15 Era el día veinticuatro del mes sexto del segundo año del rey Darío.
On the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of king Darius.
