Ezequiel 24

1 El año noveno, en el mes décimo, el día diez del mes, recibí de Yahvé esta palabra:

And the word of Yahweh came unto me. in the ninth year in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, saying:

2 Hijo de hombre, pon por escrito la fecha de este día, de este mismo día; pues precisamente en este día el rey de Babilonia se ha echado sobre Jerusalén.

Son of man. Write thee the name of the day, this selfsame day, —the king of Babylon cast himself against Jerusalem, on this selfsame day.

3 Y propón una parábola a la casa rebelde, y diles: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor: ¡Pon la caldera, ponla, y echa agua en ella!

Put thou forth therefore, against the perverse house a parable, and say unto them Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh: Set on the caldron set it on, Moreover also pour into it water:

4 Mete en ella sus trozos, todos los trozos buenos, la pierna y la espalda y llénala de huesos selectos.

Gather the pieces thereof into it, Every good piece thigh and shoulder, With the choice of the bones, fill it:

5 Toma lo más escogido del rebaño, y quema también huesos debajo de ella; haz que (todo) hierva bien y que se cuezan hasta los huesos dentro de ella.

Take of the choice of the rock, Moreover also pile of bones place under it, - Boil the pieces thereof, Yea let the bones of it seethe in the midst thereof.

6 Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria, de la caldera llena de herrumbre, y de la cual no sale el orín! ¡Saca trozo por trozo, sin echar sobre ella suertes!

Wherefore, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Woe! city of bloodshed. The caldron whose scum is in it, and whose scum, hath not gone out of it: Piece by piece, bring it out, There hath fallen thereon no lot.

7 Porque hay sangre en medio de ella; sobre la piedra desnuda ella la derramó; no la derramó en la tierra, no la cubrió con polvo,

For, her own blood, hath come to be in her midst, Upon the smooth face of the cliff, hath she set it, - She hath not poured it out on the earth, that she might cover it with dust.

8 para suscitar (mi) ira, a fin de que Yo tome venganza. Por eso derramaré su sangre sobre la piedra desnuda, para que no se cubra.

To bring up indignation to execute an avenging, have I set her blood upon the smooth face of the cliff, —that it may not be covered.

9 Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria! También Yo haré una grande hoguera.

Wherefore Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Woe! city of bloodshed, —Even I myself, will make large the pile.

10 ¡Amontona la leña, enciende el fuego, cuece la carne, haz hervir el caldo, y quémense los huesos!

Heap on the wood Kindle the fire, Consume the flesh, Yea season with spice, And let the bones be scorched.

11 Después pondrás sobre las brasas la (caldera) vacía para que se caliente, y para que se derrita su cobre y se deshaga en ella su suciedad y desaparezca su herrumbre.

Then set it upon the live coals thereof empty, —that the copper of it may be scorched and burn. So that the impurity thereof may be annihilated within it The scum thereof be consumed,

12 Trabajo inútil. No sale de ella su mucha herrumbre. ¡Quédese en el fuego su herrumbre!

With toils, hath she wearied herself, —Since her abundant scum will not go out of her, into the fire, with her scum!

13 Es digna de execración tu suciedad; pues he querido limpiarte, pero tú no te limpiaste, por esto tu inmundicia no se limpiará hasta que Yo desfogue en ti mi saña.

In thine uncleanness, is lewdness; be- cause I purified thee and thou wast not purified, from thine uncleanness, thou shalt not be purified any more, until I have let mine indignation rest upon thee.

14 Yo, Yahvé, he hablado. Ya se cumplirá, pues Yo lo ejecutaré. No aflojaré, no perdonaré ni me arrepentiré. Según tus caminos y según tus obras se te juzgará”, dice Yahvé, el Señor.

I Yahweh, have spoken It cometh and I will perform I will not let alone, neither will I shield, Nor will I repent, - According to thy ways and according to thy doings, have they judged thee, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

15 Y me llegó la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo:

And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:

16 “Hijo de hombre, he aquí que voy a quitarte de golpe las delicias de tus ojos; pero no te lamentes, ni llores, ni dejes correr tus lágrimas.

Son of Man Behold me! taking away from thee the delight of thine eyes, with a stroke, - But thou shall not lament Neither shalt thou weep, Neither shall come—thy tears:

17 Suspira en silencio; no harás duelo por los muertos; ponte el turbante y cálzate los pies; no te cubras el rostro ni comas pan de duelo.”

To groan, forbear, Over the dead—no mourning, shalt thou make Thy chaplet, bind thou on thee And thy sandals: , put thou on thy feet, And thou shalt not cover thy beard, And the bread of other men, shalt thou not eat.

18 Hablé al pueblo por la mañana, y a la tarde murió mi mujer; y al día siguiente hice según me había sido mandado.

So I spake unto the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening, —and I did in the morning, as I had been commanded.

19 Y me dijo el pueblo: “¿No nos dirás qué significa para nosotros esto que haces?”

Then said the people unto me: Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou shouldst be acting thus?

20 Entonces les respondí: “Me llegó la palabra de Yahvé en estos términos:

So I said unto them: The word of Yahweh hath come unto me, saying:

21 Di a la casa de Israel: Así habla Yahvé, el Señor: He aquí que Yo profanaré mi Santuario, la gloria de vuestro poder, las delicias de vuestros ojos, el anhelo de vuestra alma; y vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas que habéis dejado perecerán al filo de la espada.

Say to the house of Israel thus, saith My Lord. Yahweh, Behold me! profaning my sanctuary. The pride of your strength, The delight of your eyes And the object of the tender regard of your soul, - And your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind, by the sword, shall fall.

22 Y tenéis que hacer como yo he hecho: No cubriréis el rostro ni comeréis pan de luto.

Then shall ye do, as I have done.— The beard, shall ye not cover, And the bread of other men: , shall ye not eat;

23 Vuestros turbantes quedarán sobre vuestras cabezas y calzaréis vuestros pies. No plañiréis ni lloraréis, sino que os consumiréis en vuestras iniquidades y gemiréis uno al lado del otro.

And your chaplets shall be on your heads. And your sandals on your feet, Ye shall neither lament, nor weep, - Yet shall ye pine away in your iniquities, and shall groan one to another.

24 Asi Ezequiel os servirá de señal. Todo lo que él ha hecho habéis de hacer vosotros, cuando sucedan estas cosas; y conoceréis que Yo soy Yahvé, el Señor.

So shall Ezekiel become to you a wonder, According to all that he hath done, shall ye do: When it cometh, then shall ye know that I am The Lord, Yahweh.

25 Y tú, hijo de hombre, el día en que Yo les quitare su fuerza, su gozo y su gloria, las delicias de sus ojos y lo que constituye la alegría de sus almas: sus hijos y sus hijas:

Thou, therefore Son of man, Shall it not be— In the day when I take away from them Their strength, The joy of their adorning, — The delight of their eyes And the desire of their soul, Their sons and their daughters

26 en aquel día vendrá a ti uno de los escapados para darte la noticia.

That in that day, one that hath escaped shall come in unto thee, —to cause thee to hear it with thine own ears?

27 En aquel día se abrirá tu boca con (la llegada) del escapado; y hablarás, y no quedarás más mudo. Así les servirás de señal; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé.

That in that day, thy mouth shall be opened unto him that hath escaped, And thou shalt speak and not be dumb any longer? So shalt thou become to them a wonder, And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.
