Éxodo 11
1 Dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Solo una plaga más haré venir sobre el Faraón y sobre los egipcios; después de la cual os dejará marchar de aquí; y cuando, por fin, os deje salir, lo hará expulsándoos por completo de aquí.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague [more] upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let [you] go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
2 Di, pues, al pueblo que cada hombre pida a su vecino, y cada mujer a su vecina, objetos de plata y objetos de oro.”
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
3 Pues Yahvé había hecho que el pueblo hallase gracia a los ojos de los egipcios. Además, Moisés era una persona muy grande en la tierra de Egipto, tanto a los ojos de los siervos del Faraón como a los ojos del pueblo.
And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses [was] very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
4 Dijo entonces Moisés: “Así dice Yahvé: A medianoche pasaré Yo a través de Egipto;
And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:
5 y morirá en el país de Egipto todo primogénito, desde el primogénito del Faraón que se sienta en su trono, hasta el primogénito de la esclava que está detrás de la muela, y todo primogénito del ganado.
And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that [is] behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
6 Y se alzará en todo el país de Egipto un alarido grande cual nunca ha habido, y nunca lo habrá.
And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
7 Pero contra ninguno de los hijos de Israel, contra ningún hombre y ninguna bestia, ni siquiera ladrará un perro; para que sepáis qué distinción hace Yahvé entre los egipcios e Israel.
But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
8 Entonces vendrán a mí todos estos tus siervos, y se postrarán delante de mí, diciendo: Sal tú y todo el pueblo que te sigue. Y después de esto saldré.” Y encendido en cólera se retiró de la presencia del Faraón.
And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.
9 Y dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “No os escuchará el Faraón, para que se multipliquen mis prodigios en la tierra de Egipto.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
10 Moisés y Aarón obraron todos estos prodigios delante del Faraón; pero Yahvé endureció el corazón del Faraón, el cual no dejó salir de su país a los hijos de Israel.
And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
