Daniel 7
1 El año primero de Baltasar, rey de Babilonia, vio Daniel un sueño y visiones que (pasaban) por su cabeza mientras estaba en su cama. En seguida escribió el sueño en forma de un resumen.
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel has seen a dream, and the visions of his head on his bed, then he has written the dream, the chief of the things he has said.
2 “Yo estaba mirando durante mi visión nocturna, dice Daniel tomando la palabra, y vi cómo los cuatro vientos del cielo revolvían el Mar Grande.
Daniel has answered and said, “I was seeing in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of the heavens are coming forth to the Great Sea;
3 Y subieron del mar cuatro grandes bestias, diferentes una de otra.
and four great beasts are coming up from the sea, diverse from one another.
4 La primera era como león, y tenía alas de águila. Mientras estaba todavía mirando, le fueron arrancadas las alas, y fue levantada de la tierra y puesta sobre sus pies como un hombre; y se le dio un corazón de hombre.
The first [is] like a lion, and it has an eagle’s wings. I was seeing until its wings have been plucked, and it has been lifted up from the earth, and on feet as a man it has been caused to stand, and a heart of man is given to it.
5 Y vi otra bestia, la segunda, semejante a un oso; que se alzaba a un lado; (tenía) tres costillas en su boca, entre sus dientes, y le dijeron así: «¡Levántate y come carne en abundancia!».
And behold, another beast, a second, like to a bear, and to the same authority it has been raised, and three ribs [are] in its mouth, between its teeth, and thus they are saying to it, Rise, consume much flesh.
6 Después de esto seguí mirando, y vi otra, semejante a un leopardo, con cuatro alas de ave en sus espaldas. Tenía esta bestia cuatro cabezas; y le fue dado el dominio.
After this I was seeing, and behold, another like a leopard, and it has four wings of a bird on its back, and the beast has four heads, and dominion is given to it.
7 Después de esto continué mirando la visión nocturna y vi una cuarta bestia, espantosa y terrible y extraordinariamente fuerte, que tenía grandes dientes de hierro. Devoraba y desmenuzaba, y lo que sobraba lo hollaba con los pies. Era diferente de todas las bestias anteriores y tenía diez cuernos.
After this I was seeing in the visions of the night, and behold, a fourth beast, terrible and fearful, and exceedingly strong; and it has very great iron teeth, it has consumed, indeed, it breaks small, and it has trampled the remnant with its feet; and it [is] diverse from all the beasts that [are] before it; and it has ten horns.
8 Estaba yo contemplando los cuernos, cuando divisé otro cuerno pequeño, que despuntaba entre ellos; y le fueron arrancados tres de los primeros cuernos. Y he aquí que había en este cuerno ojos como ojos de hombre y una boca que profería cosas horribles.
I was considering about the horns, and behold, another horn, a little one, has come up between them, and three of the first horns have been eradicated from before it, and behold, eyes as the eyes of man [are] in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.
9 Estuve mirando hasta que fueron puestos tronos; y se sentó el Anciano de días cuyo vestido era blanco como la nieve, y el cabello de su cabeza como lana blanca. Su trono era de llamas de fuego, y las ruedas del mismo, fuego ardiente.
I was seeing until thrones have been thrown down, and the Ancient of Days is seated, His garment [is] white as snow, and the hair of His head [is] as pure wool, His throne flames of fire, its wheels burning fire.
10 Un río de fuego corría saliendo de delante de él; millares de millares le servían, y miríadas de miríadas se levantaban ante su presencia. Se sentó el tribunal y fueron abiertos los libros.
A flood of fire is proceeding and coming forth from before Him, one million serve Him and one hundred million rise up before Him, judgment has been set, and the scrolls have been opened.
11 Miraba yo entonces a causa del ruido de las grandes palabras que hablaba el cuerno; y mientras estaba mirando fue muerta la bestia y su cuerpo destruido y entregado a las llamas del fuego,
I was seeing, then, because of the voice of the great words that the horn is speaking, I was seeing until the beast is slain, and his body has been destroyed, and given to the burning fire;
12 A las otras bestias también les fue quitado su dominio, pero les fue prolongada la vida hasta un tiempo y un momento.
and the rest of the beasts have caused their dominion to pass away, and a prolongation in life is given to them, until a season and a time.
13 Seguía yo mirando en la visión nocturna, y he aquí que vino sobre las nubes del cielo Uno parecido a un hijo de hombre, el cual llegó al Anciano de días, y le presentaron delante de Él.
I was seeing in the visions of the night, and behold, [One] like a Son of Man was coming with the clouds of the heavens, and to the Ancient of Days He has come, and before Him they have brought Him near.
14 Y le fue dado el señorío, la gloria y el reino, y todos los pueblos y naciones y lenguas le sirvieron. Su señorío es un señorío eterno que jamás acabará, y su reino nunca será destruido.
And to Him is given dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, and all peoples, nations, and languages serve Him, His dominion [is] a continuous dominion, that does not pass away, and His kingdom that which is not destroyed.
15 Entonces yo, Daniel, me turbé en espíritu interiormente, y las visiones de mi cabeza me llenaron de espanto.
My spirit has been pierced—I, Daniel—in the midst of the sheath, and the visions of my head trouble me;
16 Me acerqué a uno de los asistentes y le pedí el verdadero sentido de todo esto. Él me habló y me explicó el significado de aquellas cosas (diciendo):
I have drawn near to one of those standing, and the certainty I seek from him of all this; and he has spoken to me, indeed, the interpretation of the things he has caused me to know:
17 «Estas grandes bestias, que son cuatro, son cuatro reyes que se levantarán en la tierra.
These great beasts, that [are] four, [are] four kings, they rise up from the earth;
18 Mas los santos del Altísimo recibirán el reino, y poseerán el reino hasta la eternidad y por los siglos de los siglos.»
and the saints of the Most High receive the kingdom, and they strengthen the kingdom for all time, even for all time and all ages.
19 Quise entonces saber la verdad acerca de la cuarta bestia, que era tan diferente de todas las (demás) y extraordinariamente terrible, que tenía dientes de hierro y uñas de bronce, que devoraba y desmenuzaba y hollaba con sus pies lo que sobraba;
Then I wished for certainty concerning the fourth beast, that was diverse from them all, exceedingly fearful; its teeth of iron, and its nails of bronze, it has devoured, it breaks small, and it has trampled the remnant with its feet;
20 y acerca de los diez cuernos que estaban en su cabeza, y también acerca de aquel otro que le había salido y delante del cual habían caído los tres; ese cuerno que tenía ojos, y una boca que profería cosas espantosas, y parecía más grande que los otros.
and concerning the ten horns that [are] in its heads, and of the other that came up, and before which three have fallen, even of that horn that has eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and whose appearance [is] great above its companions.
21 Pues estaba yo viendo cómo este cuerno hacía guerra contra los santos, y prevalecía sobre ellos,
I was seeing, and this horn is making war with the saints, and has prevailed over them,
22 hasta que vino el Anciano de días y el juicio fue dado a los santos del Altísimo y llegó el tiempo en que los santos tomaron posesión del reino.
until the Ancient of Days has come, and judgment is given to the saints of the Most High, and the time has come, and the saints have strengthened the kingdom.
23 Y dijo aquel así: «La cuarta bestia es un cuarto reino que habrá en la tierra. Este será diferente de todos los reinos, devorará toda la tierra, la hollará, y la desmenuzará.
Thus he said: The fourth beast is the fourth kingdom in the earth, that is diverse from all kingdoms, and it consumes all the earth, and treads it down, and breaks it small.
24 Los diez cuernos (significan que) de este reino surgirán diez reyes; y tras ellos se levantará otro que será diferente de los anteriores, y derribará a tres reyes.
And the ten horns out of the kingdom [are] ten kings, they rise, and another rises after them, and it is diverse from the former, and it humbles three kings;
25 Proferirá palabras contra el Altísimo, oprimirá a los santos del Altísimo y pretenderá mudar los tiempos y la Ley; y ellos serán entregados en su mano hasta un tiempo, (dos) tiempos y la mitad de un tiempo.
and it speaks words as an adversary of the Most High, and it wears out the saints of the Most High, and it hopes to change seasons and law; and they are given into its hand, until a time, and times, and a division of a time.
26 Pero se sentará el tribunal, y entonces se le quitará su dominio, a fin de destruirlo y aniquilarlo para siempre.
And judgment is set, and they cause his dominion to pass away, to perish, and to be destroyed—to the end;
27 Y el reino y el imperio y la magnificencia de los reinos que hay debajo de todo el cielo, será dado al pueblo de los santos del Altísimo; su reino será un reino eterno; y todas las potestades le servirán y le obedecerán».”
and the kingdom, and the dominion, even the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heavens, is given to the people—the saints of the Most High, His kingdom [is] a continuous kingdom, and all dominions serve and obey Him.
28 Aquí terminaron sus palabras. Yo, Daniel, quedé muy conturbado por mis pensamientos y mudé de color; pero guardé estas cosas en mi corazón.
Here [is] the end of the matter. I, Daniel, [am] greatly troubled [by] my thoughts, and my countenance is changed on me, and I have kept the matter in my heart.”
