Hechos 4
1 Mientras estaban hablando al pueblo, vinieron sobre ellos los sacerdotes, con el capitán del Templo, y los saduceos,
As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,
2 indignados de que enseñasen al pueblo y predicasen en Jesús la resurrección de entre los muertos.
being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Yeshua the resurrection from the dead.
3 Les echaron mano y los metieron en la cárcel hasta el día siguiente, porque ya era tarde.
They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.
4 Muchos, sin embargo, de los que habían oído la Palabra creyeron, y el número de los varones llegó a cerca de cinco mil.
But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
5 Y acaeció que al día siguiente se congregaron en Jerusalén los jefes de ellos, los ancianos y los escribas,
In the morning, their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.
6 y el Sumo Sacerdote Anás, y Caifás, Juan y Alejandro y los que eran del linaje de los príncipes de los sacerdotes.
Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, Yochanan, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.
7 Los pusieron en medio y les preguntaron: “¿Con qué poder o en qué nombre habéis hecho vosotros esto?”
When they had stood Peter and Yochanan in the middle of them, they enquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”
8 Entonces Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, les respondió: “Príncipes del pueblo y ancianos,
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people and elders of Israel,
9 si nosotros hoy somos interrogados acerca del bien hecho a un hombre enfermo, por virtud de quién este haya sido sanado,
if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,
10 sea notorio a todos vosotros y a todo el pueblo de Israel, que en nombre de Jesucristo el Nazareno, a quien vosotros crucificasteis y a quien Dios ha resucitado de entre los muertos, por Él se presenta sano este hombre delante de vosotros.
may it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands here before you whole in him.
11 Esta es la piedra que fue desechada por vosotros los edificadores, la cual ha venido a ser cabeza del ángulo;
He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’
12 y no hay salvación en ningún otro. Pues debajo del cielo no hay otro nombre dado a los hombres, por medio del cual podemos salvarnos”.
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given amongst men, by which we must be saved!”
13 Viendo ellos el denuedo de Pedro y Juan, y sabiendo que eran hombres sin letras e incultos, se admiraron y cayeron en la cuenta de que habían estado con Jesús;
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and Yochanan, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled. They recognised that they had been with Yeshua.
14 por otra parte, viendo al hombre que había sido sanado, de pie en medio de ellos, nada podían decir en contra.
Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 Mandaron entonces que saliesen del Sinedrio, y deliberaron entre sí,
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred amongst themselves,
16 diciendo: “¿Qué haremos con estos hombres? Pues se ha hecho por ellos un milagro evidente, notorio a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén, y no lo podemos negar.
saying, “What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can’t deny it.
17 Pero a fin de que no se divulgue más en el pueblo, amenacémoslos para que en adelante no hablen más en este nombre a persona alguna”.
But so that this spreads no further amongst the people, let’s threaten them, that from now on they don’t speak to anyone in this name.”
18 Los llamaron, pues, y les intimaron que de ninguna manera hablasen ni enseñasen en el nombre de Jesús.
They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Yeshua.
19 Mas Pedro y Juan respondieron diciéndoles: “Juzgad vosotros si es justo delante de Dios obedeceros a vosotros más que a Dios.
But Peter and Yochanan answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
20 Porque nosotros no podemos dejar de hablar lo que hemos visto y oído”.
for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”
21 Y así los despacharon amenazándoles, mas no hallando cómo castigarlos, por temor del pueblo; porque todos glorificaban a Dios por lo sucedido.
When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.
22 Pues era de más de cuarenta años el hombre en quien se había obrado esta curación milagrosa.
For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.
23 Puestos en libertad, llegaron a los suyos y les contaron cuantas cosas les habían dicho los sumos sacerdotes y los ancianos.
Being let go, they came to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 Ellos al oírlo, levantaron unánimes la voz a Dios y dijeron: “Señor, Tú eres el que hiciste el cielo y la tierra y el mar y todo cuanto en ellos se contiene;
When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
25 Tú el que mediante el Espíritu Santo, por boca de David, nuestro padre y siervo tuyo, dijiste: «¿Por qué se han alborotado las naciones, y los pueblos han forjado cosas vanas?
who by the mouth of your servant David, said, ‘Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
26 Levantáronse los reyes de la tierra, y los príncipes se han coligado contra el Señor y contra su Ungido».
The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers plot together, against the Lord, and against his Messiah.’
27 Porque verdaderamente se han juntado en esta ciudad contra Jesús su santo Siervo, a quien Tú ungiste, Herodes y Poncio Pilato, con los gentiles y los pueblos de Israel,
“For truly, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Yeshua, whom you anointed,
28 para hacer lo que tu mano y tu designio había determinado que se hiciese.
to do whatever your hand and your counsel foreordained to happen.
29 Ahora, pues, Señor, mira las amenazas de ellos, y da a tus siervos que prediquen con toda libertad tu palabra,
Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
30 extendiendo tu mano para que se hagan curaciones, prodigios y portentos por el nombre de Jesús el santo Siervo tuyo”.
while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Yeshua.”
31 Acabada la oración, tembló el lugar en que estaban reunidos, y todos quedaron llenos del Espíritu Santo y anunciaban con toda libertad la palabra de Dios.
When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
32 La multitud de los fieles tenía un mismo corazón y una misma alma, y ninguno decía ser suya propia cosa alguna de las que poseía, sino que tenían todas las cosas en común.
The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
33 Y con gran fortaleza los apóstoles daban testimonio de la resurrección del Señor Jesús y gracia abundante era sobre todos ellos.
With great power, the emissaries gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Yeshua. Great grace was on them all.
34 Porque no había entre ellos persona pobre, pues todos cuantos poseían campos o casas, los vendían, traían el precio de las cosas vendidas,
For neither was there amongst them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,
35 y lo ponían a los pies de los apóstoles; y se distribuía a cada uno según la necesidad que tenía.
and laid them at the emissaries’ feet; and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
36 Así también José, a quien los apóstoles pusieron por sobrenombre Bernabé, lo que significa “Hijo de consolación”, levita y natural de Chipre,
Yosi, who by the emissaries was also called Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,
37 tenía un campo que vendió y cuyo precio trajo poniéndolo a los pies de los apóstoles.
having a field, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the emissaries’ feet.
