2 Samuel 6

1 David congregó de nuevo a todos los escogidos de Israel: treinta mil hombres.

And David again gathered all the young men of Israel, about seventy thousand.

2 Y levantándose David, con todo el pueblo que lo acompañaba, se puso en marcha desde Baalé-Judá, para traerse de allí el Arca de Dios, sobre la cual es invocado el Nombre de Yahvé de los Ejércitos, sentado sobre los querubines.

And David arose, and went, he and all the people that were with him, and some of the rulers of Juda, on an expedition [to a distant place], to bring back thence the ark of God, on which the name of the Lord of Host who dwells between the cherubs upon it is called.

3 CoIocaron el Arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo, y la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab, situada en el collado; Ozá y Ahío, hijos de Abinadab, conducían el carro nuevo.

And they put the ark of the Lord on a new waggon, and took it out of the house of Aminadab who lived on the hill, and Oza and his brethren the sons of Aminadab drove the waggon with the ark.

4 Lo sacaron de la casa de Abinadab, que está en el collado, junto con el Arca de Dios; y Ahío iba delante del Arca.

And his brethren went before the ark.

5 David y toda la casa de Israel hacían danzas delante de Yahvé, con toda suerte de instrumentos de madera de ciprés; con cítaras, salterios, tamboriles, sistros y címbalos.

And David and the children of Israel [were] playing before the Lord on well-tuned instruments mightily, and with songs, and with harps, and with lutes, and with drums, and with cymbals, and with pipes.

6 Cuando llegaron a la era de Nacón, extendió Ozá la mano hacia el Arca de Dios y la agarró, porque los bueyes resbalaban.

And they come as far as the threshing floor of Nachor: and Oza reached forth his hand to the ark of God to keep it steady, and took hold of it; for the ox shook it out of its place.

7 Entonces se encendió la ira de Yahvé contra Ozá, y le hirió allí Dios por su temeridad, y murió en ese mismo lugar, junto al Arca de Dios.

And the Lord was very angry with Oza; and God struck him there: and he died there by the ark of the Lord before God.

8 David se consternó por cuanto había estallado la ira de Yahvé contra Ozá, y se llamó aquel sito Pérez- Ozá hasta el día de hoy.

And David was dispirited because the Lord made a breach upon Oza; and that place was called the breach of Oza until this day.

9 Y David tuvo temor de Yahvé en aquel día, y dijo: “¿Cómo he de traer a mí el Arca de Dios?”

And David feared the Lord in that day, saying, How shall the ark of the Lord come in to me?

10 Y no quiso David que se llevase el Arca de Yahvé hacia él, a la ciudad de David, por lo cual la trasladó a la casa de Obededom geteo.

And David would not bring in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to himself into the city of David: and David turned it aside into the house of Abeddara the Gethite.

11 Permaneció, pues, el Arca de Yahvé tres meses en la casa de Obededom geteo, y Yahvé bendijo a Obededom y a toda su casa.

And the ark of the Lord lodged in the house of Abeddara the Gethite three months, and the Lord blessed all the house of Abeddara, and all his possessions.

12 Dijeron al rey David: “Ha bendecido Yahvé a la casa de Obededom y a todo cuanto tiene, por causa del Arca de Dios.” Entonces fue David, y con gran júbilo trasladó el Arca de Dios desde la casa de Obededom a la ciudad de David.

And it was reported to king David, saying, The Lord has blessed the house of Abeddara, and all that he has, because of the ark of the Lord. And David went, and brought up the Ark of the Lord from the house of Abeddara to the city of David with gladness.

13 Apenas los portadores del Arca de Yahvé habían andado seis pasos, fue inmolado un toro y un novillo cebado.

And there were with him bearing the ark seven bands, and for a sacrifice a calf and lambs.

14 David danzaba con toda su fuerza delante de Yahvé e iba ceñido de un efod de lino fino.

And David sounded with well-tuned instruments before the Lord, and David [was] clothed with a fine long robe.

15 Así David y toda la casa de Israel subieron el Arca de Yahvé con gran júbilo y al son de trompetas.

And David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of a trumpet.

16 Al entrar el Arca de Dios en la ciudad de David, Micol, hija de Saúl, miró por la ventana, y viendo al rey David cómo saltaba y danzaba delante de Yahvé, le despreció en su corazón.

And it came to pass as the ark arrived at the city of David, that Melchol the daughter of Saul looked through the window, and saw king David dancing and playing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

17 Introdujeron, pues, el Arca de Yahvé y la colocaron en su lugar, en medio del Tabernáculo que David había levantado para ella. Luego ofreció David ante Yahvé holocaustos y sacrificios pacíficos.

And they bring the ark of the Lord, and set it in its place in the midst of the tabernacle which David pitched for it: and David offered whole burnt offerings before the Lord, [and] peace-offerings.

18 Habiendo terminado de ofrecer los holocaustos y los sacrificios pacíficos David bendijo al pueblo en nombre de Yahvé de los Ejércitos.

And David made an end of offering the whole burnt offerings and peace-offerings, and blessed the people in the name of the Lord of Hosts.

19 Después repartió a todo el pueblo, a toda la muchedumbre de Israel, hombres y mujeres, a cada cual una torta de pan, una porción de carne y un pastel de pasas. Con esto se retiró todo el pueblo, cada cual a su casa.

And he distributed to all the people, even to all the host of Israel from Dan to Bersabee, both men and women, to every one a cake of bread, and a joint of meat, and a cake from the frying-pan: and all the people departed every one to his home.

20 Cuando David se retiró para bendecir a su casa, le salió al encuentro Micol, hija de Saúl, y le dijo: “¡Qué bella figura ha hecho hoy el rey de Israel, descubriéndose a la vista de las siervas de sus servidores, al modo que se desnuda un bufón!”

And David returned to bless his house. And Melchol the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and saluted him, and said, How was the king of Israel glorified today, who was today uncovered in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the dancers wantonly uncovers himself!

21 Pero David respondió a Micol: “Delante de Yahvé, que con preferencia a tu padre y a toda su casa me eligió para constituirme príncipe del pueblo de Yahvé, de Israel, delante de Yahvé he danzado.

And David said to Melchol, I will dance before the Lord. Blessed [be] the Lord who chose me before your father, and before all his house, to make me head over his people, even over Israel: therefore I will play, and dance before the Lord.

22 Y me humillaré todavía más y me haré despreciable a mis propios ojos, y seré tenido en honor por las siervas de que has hablado.”

And I will again uncover myself thus, and I will be vile in your eyes, and with the maidservants by whom you said that I was not had in honour.

23 Y Micol, hija de Saúl, no tuvo hijo hasta el día de su muerte.

And Melchol the daughter of Saul had no child till the day of her death.
