2 Crónicas 26
1 Entonces todo el pueblo de Judá tomó a Ocías, que tenía diez y seis años, y lo proclamaron rey en lugar de su padre Amasías.
And all the people of Judah took 'Uzziyahu, who was then sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amazyahu.
2 Él edificó a Elat y la restituyó a Judá, después que el rey (Amasías) había ido a descansar con sus padres.
He it was that built Eloth, and brought it back to Judah, after the king slept with his fathers.
3 Diez y seis años tenía Ocías cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y dos años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Jecolía, de Jerusalén.
Sixteen years old was 'Uzziyahu when he became king, and fifty and two years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Yecholyah of Jerusalem.
4 Hizo lo que era recto a los ojos de Yahvé, según todo lo que había hecho su padre Amasías.
And he did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that his father Amazyahu had done.
5 Cuidó de buscar a Dios durante la vida de Zacarías, que le instruyó en el temor de Dios; y por cuanto buscó a Yahvé, Dios le dio prosperidad.
And he was [inclined] to seek God in the days of Zecharyahu, who had understanding in the visions of God; and during the time that he sought the Lord, God caused him to prosper.
6 Salió a campaña contra los filisteos y derribó el muro de Gat, el muro de Jabné y el muro de Azoto, y edificó ciudades en (el territorio de) Azoto y entre los filisteos.
And he went forth and made war against the Philistines, and he broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in [the country of] Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
7 Dios le ayudó contra los filisteos, contra los árabes que habitaban en Gurbaal, y contra los meunitas.
And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-ba'al, and the Me'unim.
8 Los ammonitas trajeron presentes a Ocías, y su fama llegó hasta la frontera de Egipto; porque se había hecho sumamente poderoso.
And the 'Ammonites gave presents to 'Uzziyahu: and his name extended even to the entrance of Egypt; for he became exceedingly strong.
9 Ocías construyó torres en Jerusalén sobre la puerta del Ángulo, sobre la puerta del Valle y en el ángulo, y las fortificó.
And 'Uzziyahu built towers in Jerusalem, above the corner-gate, and above the valley-gate, and at the angle, and made them strong.
10 Construyó también torres en el desierto, y excavó muchas cisternas; pues poseía muchos ganados, en la Sefelá y en el Mischor, también labradores y viñadores en las montañas y en los campos fértiles, porque amaba la agricultura.
He built also towers in the desert, and hewed out many wells; for he had much cattle, both in the lowlands and in the plain; [also] husbandmen, and vintners in the mountains, and in Carmel; for he loved husbandry.
11 Ocías tenía un ejército de guerra, que salía a campaña en divisiones, conforme al número del censo de ellos, hecho por el secretario Jeiel y el escriba Maasías, a las órdenes de Hananías, uno de los príncipes del rey.
Moreover 'Uzziyah had an army of fighting men, that went out to the host by bands, according to the number of those mustered of them through the hand of Je'iel the scribe and Ma'asseyahu the overseer, under the supervision of Chananyahu, one of the king's captains.
12 El número total de los jefes de las casas paternas, guerreros valerosos, era de dos mil seiscientos.
The whole number of the chiefs of the family divisions of the mighty men of valor was two thousand and six hundred.
13 A sus órdenes estaba un ejército de trescientos siete mil quinientos hombres, que hacían la guerra con gran pujanza, ayudando al rey contra el enemigo.
And under their supervision was an efficient army, [of] three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14 Ocías les proporcionó, a todo aquel ejército, escudos y lanzas, yelmos y corazas, arcos y hondas para tirar piedras.
And 'Uzziyahu prepared for them, for all the host, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.
15 Hizo construir en Jerusalén máquinas, inventadas por hombres ingeniosos, para colocarlas sobre las torres y los ángulos y para arrojar saetas y piedras grandes. Su fama se extendió lejos, porque fue socorrido maravillosamente, de manera que llegó a ser poderoso.
And he made in Jerusalem artificial contrivances, contrived by a skilful man, to be [stationed] on the towers and upon the ramparts, to shoot off arrows and great stones. And his name extended ever so far abroad; for he was marvelously assisted, till he became strong.
16 Mas una vez fortalecido en su poder, se engrió su corazón hasta acarrearle la ruina. Pues prevaricó contra Yahvé su Dios, entrando en el Templo de Yahvé, para quemar incienso sobre el altar del incienso.
But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction; and he became unfaithful against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
17 Entró tras él Azarías, el sacerdote, y con él ochenta sacerdotes de Yahvé, hombres valientes;
And there went in after him 'Azaryahu the priest, and with him were priests of the Lord, valiant men, [to the number of] eighty;
18 que se opusieron al rey Ocías y le dijeron: “No te corresponde a ti, oh Ocías, quemar incienso a Yahvé, sino a los sacerdotes, los hijos de Aarón, que han sido consagrados para quemar el incienso. ¡Sal del Santuario, porque has pecado, y no será esto para honra tuya ante Yahvé Dios!”
And they stood forward against king 'Uzziyahu, and they said unto him, It is not for thee, O 'Uzziyahu, to burn incense unto the Lord, but for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; and it will not be for thy honor from the Lord God.
19 Entonces Ocías, que tenía en la mano un incensario para ofrecer incienso, se llenó de ira, y en tanto que se irritaba contra los sacerdotes, brotó la lepra en su frente, a vista de los sacerdotes, en la Casa de Yahvé, frente al altar del incienso.
But 'Uzziyahu became wroth, and in his hand was a censer to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even broke out on his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, above the altar of the incense.
20 Azarías, el Sumo Sacerdote, y todos los sacerdotes dirigieron hacia él sus miradas, y he aquí que tenía la lepra en su frente. Por lo cual lo echaron de allí a toda prisa; y él mismo se apresuró a salir, porque Yahvé le había herido.
And when 'Azaryahu the chief priest, with all the priests, turned about toward him, behold, he was leprous on his forehead, and they hurried him away from there: yea, he also made haste to go out, because the Lord had afflicted him.
21 El rey Ocías quedó leproso hasta el día de su muerte, y habitó en una casa apartada, como leproso, porque había sido excluido de la Casa de Yahvé, y su hijo Joatán gobernaba la casa del rey, y juzgaba al pueblo del país.
And king 'Uzziyahu was a leper until the day of his death, and dwelt in the leper-house, as a leper; for he was excluded from the house of the Lord: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, [and] judged the people of the land.
22 Los demás hechos de Ocías, los primeros y los postreros, los escribió el profeta Isaías, hijo de Amós.
And the rest of the acts of 'Uzziyahu, the first and the last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amos write.
23 Ocías se durmió con sus padres, y le sepultaron con sus padres en el campo de los sepulcros de los reyes, porque decían: “Es un leproso.” En su lugar reinó su hijo Joatán.
And 'Uzziyahu slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the burial-field which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son became king in his stead.
