1 Tesalonicenses 5
1 Por lo que toca a los tiempos y a las circunstancias, hermanos, no tenéis necesidad de que se os escriba.
But concerning the times and seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write to you;
2 Vosotros mismos sabéis perfectamente que, como ladrón de noche, así viene el día del Señor.
for you yourselves know well, that the day of the Lord is so coming like a thief in the night.
3 Cuando digan: “Paz y seguridad”, entonces vendrá sobre ellos de repente la ruina, como los dolores del parto a la que está encinta; y no escaparán.
When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail upon a woman in gestation; and they can not escape.
4 Mas vosotros, hermanos, no vivís en tinieblas, para que aquel día os sorprenda como ladrón,
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may overtake you like a thief:
5 siendo todos vosotros hijos de la luz e hijos del día. No somos de la noche ni de las tinieblas.
for you are all the sons of light, and the sons of day: we are not of night, nor of darkness;
6 Por lo tanto, no durmamos como los demás; antes bien, velemos y seamos sobrios.
then therefore let us not sleep like the rest, but watch and be sober.
7 Pues los que duermen, duermen de noche; y los que se embriagan, de noche se embriagan.
For those sleeping, sleep in the night; and those who are drunken, get drunk in the night:
8 Nosotros, empero, que somos del día, seamos sobrios, vistiendo la coraza de fe y caridad y como yelmo la esperanza de salvación;
but let us, who are of the day, be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and divine love; and the helmet, the hope of salvation:
9 porque Dios no nos ha destinado para la ira, sino para adquirir la salvación por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,
because God did not put us forth unto wrath, but unto the obtainment of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 el cual murió por nosotros, para que, ora velando, ora durmiendo, vivamos con Él.
the one having died for us, in order that, whether we are awake or asleep, we shall at the same time live with him.
11 Por esto exhortaos unos a otros, y edificaos recíprocamente como ya lo hacéis.
Therefore exhort one another, and edify either the other, as you indeed are doing.
12 Os rogamos, hermanos, que tengáis consideración a los que trabajan en medio de vosotros, y os dirigen en el Señor y os amonestan;
But we intreat you, brethren, to know those who are laboring among you, and standing before you in the Lord, and admonishing you;
13 y que los estiméis muchísimo en caridad, a causa de su obra. Y entre vosotros mismos vivid en paz.
and that you yourselves esteem them exceedingly in divine love for the sake of their work. Live in peace among yourselves.
14 También os exhortamos, hermanos, a que amonestéis a los desordenados, que alentéis a los pusilánimes, que sostengáis a los débiles, y que seáis sufridos para con todos.
And we, exhort you, brethren, admonish the unruly, comfort the small-souled people, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.
15 Ved que nadie vuelva al otro mal por mal; antes bien, seguid haciendo en todo tiempo lo bueno el uno para con el otro y para con todos.
See that no one may return evil for evil to any one; but always pursue good toward one another, and toward all.
16 Gozaos siempre.
Rejoice evermore;
17 Orad sin cesar.
pray without ceasing;
18 En todo dad gracias, pues que tal es la voluntad de Dios en Cristo Jesús en orden a vosotros.
in every thing give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus towards you.
19 No apaguéis el Espíritu.
Quench not the Spirit;
20 No menospreciéis las profecías.
despise not prophesying;
21 Examinadlo todo y quedaos con lo bueno.
but prove all things; and hold fast to the beautiful;
22 Absteneos de toda clase de mal.
abstain from every evil sight.
23 El mismo Dios de la paz os santifique plenamente; y vuestro espíritu, vuestra alma y vuestro cuerpo sean conservados sin mancha para la Parusía de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless, in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Fiel es El que os llama, y Él también lo hará.
Faithful is the one calling you, who indeed will do it.
25 Hermanos, orad por nosotros.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 Saludad a todos los hermanos en ósculo santo.
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 Os conjuro por el Señor que sea leída esta epístola a todos los hermanos.
I adjure you in the name of the Lord, that this epistle shall be read to all the brethren.
28 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con vosotros.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
