1 Reyes 10

1 La reina de Sabá tuvo noticia de la fama que Salomón se había adquirido para la gloria de Yahvé, y vino a probarle con enigmas.

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, she came to prove him with hard questions.

2 Llegó a Jerusalén con un séquito muy grande, con camellos que traían especias aromáticas, muchísimo oro y piedras preciosas. Y fue a ver a Salomón, con el cual habló de todo lo que había en su corazón.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she conversed with him of all that was in her heart.

3 Salomón le respondió a todas sus preguntas; no hubo cosa que fuese escondida al Rey y de la cual no pudiese dar solución.

And Solomon answered to her all her questions; there was not anything hid from the king which he did not answer.

4 Al ver la reina de Sabá toda la sabiduría de Salomón, la casa que había edificado,

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

5 los manjares de su mesa, las habitaciones de sus dignatarios, la manera de servir de sus criados y los trajes de ellos, sus coperos, y el holocausto que ofrecía en la Casa de Yahvé, quedó atónita,

and the food of his table, and the seating of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, there was no more spirit in her.

6 y dijo al rey Salomón: “Verdad es lo que oí decir en mi tierra respecto de ti y de tu sabiduría.

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in my own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom.

7 Yo no creía lo dicho antes de haber venido y antes de haberlo visto con mis propios ojos; y he aquí que no me habían contado ni siquiera la mitad. Tu sabiduría y tu prosperidad son más grandes de lo que yo había oído.

However I did not believe the words until I came, and my eyes had seen it. And, behold, the half was not told me; thy wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.

8 ¡Dichosa tus gentes, dichosos estos tus siervos, que de continuo están en tu presencia y oyen tu sabiduría!

Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, who stand continually before thee, who hear thy wisdom.

9 ¡Bendito sea Yahvé, tu Dios, que se ha complacido en ti y te ha puesto sobre el trono de Israel! Porque Yahvé ama eternamente a Israel, y Él te ha constituido rey para que hagas juicio y justicia.”

Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee to set thee on the throne of Israel. Because Jehovah loved Israel forever, therefore he made thee king, to do justice and righteousness.

10 Luego regaló al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro, grandísima cantidad de especias aromáticas y piedras preciosas. Nunca más vino tanta cantidad de especias aromáticas como la que la reina de Sabá dio al rey Salomón.

And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices a very great store, and precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

11 La flota de Hiram que traía oro de Ofir, trajo de Ofir también muchísima cantidad de madera de sándalo y de piedras preciosas.

And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees and precious stones.

12 El rey hizo de la madera de sándalo balaustradas para la Casa de Yahvé y la casa del rey, y también cítaras y salterios para los cantores. Nunca jamás vino semejante madera de sándalo, ni se ha visto hasta el día de hoy.

And the king made pillars of the almug trees for the house of Jehovah, and for the king's house, also harps and psalteries for the singers. There have come no such almug trees, nor were seen, to this day.

13 El rey Salomón dio a la reina de Sabá todo cuanto ella quiso y todo cuanto pidió, sin contar lo que además recibió de la regia munificencia de Salomón. Después se volvió y regresó a su país, acompañada de sus servidores.

And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

14 El peso del oro que llegaba a Salomón cada año era de seiscientos sesenta y seis talentos de oro,

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty and six talents of gold,

15 fuera de lo que recibía de los mercaderes, del comercio de los traficantes, de todos los reyes de los beduinos y de los gobernadores del país.

besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.

16 El rey Salomón fabricó doscientos escudos grandes de oro batido, empleando en cada escudo seiscientos siclos de oro;

And king Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.

17 y trescientos escudos chicos de oro batido, empleando en cada escudo tres minas de oro, y los colocó el rey en la Casa del Bosque del Líbano.

And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pounds of gold went to one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18 Hizo asimismo el rey un gran trono de marfil y lo guarneció de oro finísimo.

Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.

19 Tenía el trono seis gradas y en la parte superior del trono un respaldo redondeado; tenía también brazos por uno y otro lado del asiento y dos leones de pie, junto a los brazos.

There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind. And there were supports on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the supports.

20 Doce leones estaban de pie allí sobre las seis gradas, a uno y otro lado. En ningún reino se fabricó jamás obra como esta.

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps. There was not the like made in any kingdom.

21 Todos los vasos en que bebía el rey Salomón eran de oro; asimismo toda la vajilla de la Casa del Bosque del Líbano era de oro fino. Nada era de plata, pues en tiempo de Salomón esta no se estimaba.

And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; it was accounted of nothing in the days of Solomon.

22 Porque el rey tenía en el mar una flota de Tarsis, juntamente con la flota de Hiram. Una vez cada tres años venía la flota de Tarsis, trayendo oro, plata, marfil, monos y pavos reales;

For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram. Once every three years the navy of Tarshish came, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

23 de manera que en cuanto a riquezas y sabiduría el rey Salomón fue más grande que todos los reyes de la tierra.

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

24 Y todo el mundo procuraba ver el rostro de Salomón, para oír la sabiduría que Dios había infundido en su corazón;

And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

25 y todos traían sus presentes, objetos de plata y objetos de oro, vestidos, armas, especias aromáticas, caballos y mulos. Así año tras año.

And every man brought his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and raiment, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

26 Reunió Salomón carros y caballería; tenía mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil jinetes, qué tenían su cuartel en las ciudades de los carros y en Jerusalén, junto al rey.

And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen. And he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

27 El rey hizo que la plata en Jerusalén abundara como las piedras y la madera de cedro, y como los cabrahígos que crecen en llanura.

And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars he made to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.

28 Los caballos de Salomón venían de Egipto. Una caravana de comerciantes del rey los traía en grupos al precio (convenido).

And the horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt. And the king's merchants received them in herds, each herd at a price.

29 Un tiro de carro sacado de Egipto costaba seiscientos siclos de plata, y un caballo ciento cincuenta. También los traían en las mismas condiciones, por su intermedio, para todos los reyes de los heteos y para los reyes de la Siria.

And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. And so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their means.
