1 Crónicas 29

1 Dijo el rey David a toda la asamblea: “Mi hijo Salomón a quien solo ha escogido Dios, es todavía joven y tierno, y la obra es grande; pues este alcázar no es para hombre, sino para Yahvé Dios.

And king David said unto all the assembly, Solomon, the only son of mine whom God hath made choice of, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; because not for man is the palace to be, but for the Lord God.

2 Con todas mis fuerzas he preparado para la Casa de mi Dios el oro para los objetos de oro, la plata para los de plata, el bronce para los de bronce, el hierro para los de hierro y la madera para los de madera; también piedras de ónice y (piedras) de engaste; piedras brillantes y de varios colores, toda suerte de piedras preciosas y piedras de mármol en abundancia.

But with all my might have I made ready for the house of my God, the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the copper for the things of copper, the iron for the things of iron, and the wood for the things of wood, onyx stones, and stones to be set, bright stones, and stones of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

3 Fuera de esto, en mi amor a la Casa de mi Dios, doy a la Casa de mi Dios el oro y la plata que poseo, además de todo lo que tengo preparado para la Casa del Santuario:

Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, have I acquired as my own property gold and silver; [and this] have I given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house:

4 tres mil talentos de oro, del oro de Ofir, y siete mil talentos de plata acrisolada para revestir las paredes de los edificios;

Three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses;

5 el oro para los objetos de oro, la plata para los de plata, y para todas las obras hechas por mano de los artífices, ¿Quién, pues, quiere ahora hacer una ofrenda espontánea a Yahvé?”

All that is needed of gold and of silver, and for every manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. And who [now] is willing to consecrate his hand this day unto the Lord?

6 Entonces los jefes de las casas paternas, los príncipes de las tribus de Israel, los jefes de miles y de cientos, y los administradores de la hacienda del rey ofrecieron espontáneamente sus ofrendas,

Thereupon offered voluntarily the chiefs of the family divisions and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of the thousands and of the hundreds, with the supervisors of the king's work;

7 y dieron para la obra de la Casa de Dios, cinco mil talentos de oro, diez mil dáricos, diez mil talentos de plata, diez y ocho mil talentos de bronce y cien mil talentos de hierro.

And they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drachms, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of copper eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.

8 Los que tenían piedras preciosas, las entregaron para el tesoro de la Casa de Yahvé, en mano de Jehiel gersonita.

And those with whom stones were found gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, under the supervision of Jechiel the Gershunite.

9 Y se regocijó el pueblo por haberlo hecho voluntariamente; porque de todo su corazón habían ofrecido espontáneamente sus dádivas a Yahvé. También el rey David tuvo un gran gozo.

Then did the people rejoice, because they had voluntarily offered: for with an undivided heart did they offer to the Lord: and also king David rejoiced with great joy.

10 Después bendijo David a Yahvé en presencia de toda la asamblea; y dijo David: “¡Bendito Tú, oh Yahvé, Dios de nuestro padre Israel, desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad!

And David blessed the Lord before the eyes of all the congregation; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Lord the God of Israel our father, from everlasting even unto everlasting.

11 Tuya, oh Yahvé, es la grandeza, el poder, la magnificencia, el esplendor y la majestad; pues tuyo es cuánto hay en el cielo y en la tierra. Tuyo, oh Yahvé, es el reino; Tú te eriges en cabeza de todo.

Thine, O Lord, are the greatness, and the might, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty, yea, all that is in the heavens and on the earth: thine, O Lord, is the kingdom, and thou art exalted as the head above all.

12 De Ti proceden la riqueza y la gloria; Tú lo gobiernas todo; en tu mano están el poder y la fortaleza, y en tu mano el dar grandeza y poder a todos.

And riches and honor come from thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand are power and might; and it is in thy hand to make great, and to give strength unto all.

13 Ahora, pues, oh Dios nuestro, te alabamos y celebramos tu Nombre glorioso.

And now, O our God, we give thanks unto thee, and praise thy glorious name.

14 Pues ¿quién soy yo, y quién es mi pueblo, para que seamos capaces de ofrecerte tales donativos? Porque todo viene de Ti, y te damos lo (que hemos recibido) de tus manos.

For who am I, and what is my people, that we should possess the power to offer voluntarily after this sort? for from thee is every thing, and out of thy own have we given unto thee.

15 Porque extranjeros y advenedizos somos delante de Ti, como todos nuestros padres; como sombra son nuestros días sobre la tierra, y no hay espera.

For strangers are we before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: like a shadow are our days on the earth, and there is no hope [of abiding].

16 Yahvé, Dios nuestro, todo este grande acopio que hemos acumulado, a fin de edificarte una Casa para tu santo Nombre, viene de tu mano, y es todo tuyo.

O Lord our God! all this abundant store which we have prepared to build for thee a house for thy holy name, is out of thy own hand, and thine is all.

17 Bien sé, Dios mío, que Tú pruebas los corazones y amas la rectitud; por eso te he ofrecido voluntariamente todo esto con sincero corazón, y ahora veo con regocijo a tu pueblo, a los que se hallan aquí, cómo te ofrecen espontáneamente sus dones.

And I know, my God, that thou probest the heart, and uprightness thou receivest in favor. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart have I voluntarily offered all these things; and now thy people, that are present here, do I see with joy offering voluntarily unto thee.

18 Oh, Yahvé, Dios de nuestros padres, de Abrahán, de Isaac y de Israel, conserva esto perpetuamente para formar los pensamientos del corazón de tu pueblo, y dirige Tú su corazón hacia Ti.

O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our father, preserve this for ever as the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and direct their heart firmly unto thee.

19 Da a mi hijo Salomón un corazón perfecto, para que guarde tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus preceptos, a fin de que todo lo ponga por obra y edifique el palacio, para el cual yo he hecho los preparativos.”{}

And unto Solomon my son do thou give an undivided heart to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all, and to build the palace, for which I have made preparation.

20 Después dijo David a toda la asamblea: “¡Bendecid a Yahvé vuestro Dios!” Y toda la asamblea bendijo a Yahvé, el Dios de sus padres, e inclinaron la cabeza y se postraron ante Yahvé y ante el rey.

And David said to all the assembly. Bless now the Lord your God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord the God of their fathers, and bent down their heads, and prostrated themselves to the Lord, and to the king.

21 Al día siguiente inmolaron a Yahvé víctimas y le ofrecieron holocaustos: mil becerros, mil carneros y mil corderos, con sus correspondientes libaciones y muchos sacrificios por todo Israel.

And they sacrificed sacrifices unto the Lord, and they offered burnt-offerings unto the Lord, on the morrow after that day, one thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand sheep, with their drink-offerings, and [other] sacrifices in abundance for all Israel;

22 En aquel día comieron y bebieron ante Yahvé con gran gozo, y por segunda vez proclamaron rey a Salomón, hijo de David, y le ungieron por rey delante de Yahvé, y a Sadoc por sacerdote.

And they ate and drank before the Lord on that day with great joy. And they declared the second time Solomon the son of David to be king, and they anointed him unto the Lord as chief ruler, and Zadok as priest.

23 Entonces se sentó Salomón como rey sobre el trono de Yahvé, en lugar de su padre David, y prosperó y le obedeció todo Israel.

Then sat Solomon on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he was prosperous; and all Israel obeyed him.

24 Todos los jefes y grandes, y también todos los hijos del rey David, prestaron obediencia al rey Salomón.

And all the princes, and the mighty men, and also all the sons of king David, submitted themselves unto king Solomon.

25 Y Yahvé le engrandeció en extremo a los ojos de todo Israel, y le confirió tanta gloria real cual nunca había tenido ningún rey de Israel antes de él.

And the Lord made Solomon exceedingly great before the eyes of all Israel; and he bestowed upon him a royal majesty such as had not been on any king over Israel before him.

26 David, el hijo de Isaí, reinó sobre todo Israel.

Thus did David the son of Jesse reign over all Israel.

27 Fueron los días que reinó sobre Israel cuarenta años. En Hebrón reinó siete años, y en Jerusalén reinó treinta y tres.

And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three [years].

28 Murió en buena vejez, harto de días, riqueza y gloria; y en su lugar reinó su hijo Salomón.

And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son became king in his stead.

29 Los hechos del rey David, los primeros y los postreros, he aquí que están escritos en la historia del vidente Samuel, en la historia del profeta Natán y en la historia del vidente Gad,

And the acts of king David, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

30 juntamente con todo su reinado y sus hazañas, y las vicisitudes que pasaron sobre él, sobre Israel y sobre todos los reinos de los (demás) países.

Together with all his reign and his mighty deeds, and the times that passed over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the [various] countries.
