< Tiitos 1 >
1 Anigoo Bawlos ah oo Ilaah addoon u ah, Ciise Masiixna rasuul u ah, siday yihiin iimaanka kuwa Ilaah doortay iyo aqoonta runta oo ah xagga cibaadada,
From Paul, a servant of God, and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, charged to strengthen the faith of God’s Chosen People, and their knowledge of that Truth which makes for godliness
2 iyagoo rajaynaya nolosha weligeed ah oo Ilaaha aan beenta sheeginu u ballanqaaday waayadii hore hortood, (aiōnios )
and is based on the hope of Immortal Life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began, (aiōnios )
3 laakiinse wakhtiyadiisii goonida ahaa uu hadalkiisii ku muujiyey wacdigii laygu ammaaneeyey sida Ilaaha Badbaadiyeheenna ahu u amray,
and has revealed at his own time in his Message, with the proclamation of which I was entrusted by the command of God our Saviour.
4 waxaan warqaddan u qorayaa Tiitos oo ah wiilkayga runta ah xagga iimaanka inaga dhexeeya. Nimco iyo nabadu ha kaaga yimaadeen Ilaaha Aabbaha ah iyo Badbaadiyeheenna Ciise Masiix.
To Titus, my true Child in our one Faith: May God, the Father, and Christ Jesus, our Saviour, bless you and give you peace.
5 Sababtaas daraaddeed ayaan Kereetee kaaga dhex tegey inaad hagaajisid waxyaalaha hadhay iyo inaad waayeello magaalo walba ka dooratid sidaan kuugu amray,
My reason for leaving you in Crete was that you might put in order what had been left unsettled, and appoint Officers of the Church in the various towns, as I myself directed you.
6 hadduu mid waliba yahay nin aan ceeb lahayn, oo naag keliya qaba, oo leh carruur rumaysan, oo aan rabshad iyo caasinimo lagu dacwaynin.
They are to be men of irreproachable character, who are faithful husbands, whose children are Christians and have never been charged with dissolute conduct or have been unruly.
7 Waayo, hoggaamiyaha kiniisaddu waa inuu ceeb la'aado sida wakiilka Ilaah; oo uusan madax adkaan, oo uusan camal fududaan, oo uusan sakhraan noqon, oo uusan gacan fududaan, oo uusan faa'iidada ceebta ah jeclaan,
For a Presiding-Officer, as God’s steward, ought to be a man of irreproachable character; not self-willed or quick-tempered, nor addicted to drink or to brawling or to questionable money-making.
8 laakiinse waa inuu ahaado mid martida soo dhoweeya, oo wanaag jecel, oo feeyigaan, oo xaq ah, oo quduus ah, oo iscelin kara;
On the contrary, he should be hospitable, eager for the right, discreet, upright, a man of holy life and capable of self-restraint,
9 isagoo xajinaya hadalka aaminka ah oo ah sidii loo baray, inuu awoodo inuu cilmiga runta ah ku waaniyo oo ku canaanto kuwa muranka miidhan ah.
who holds doctrine that can be relied on as being in accordance with the accepted Teaching; so that he may be able to encourage others by sound teaching, as well as to refute our opponents.
10 Waayo, waxaa jira caasiyiin badan, iyo kuwa hadal xun ku hadla, iyo khaa'inno, oo khusuusan waa kuwa gudan.
There are, indeed, many unruly persons — great talkers who deceive themselves, principally converts from Judaism,
11 Kuwaas afkooda waa in la xidho, maxaa yeelay, waa kuwa reero dhan gembiya iyagoo faa'iidada ceebta ah aawadeed u baraya waxyaalo aan waajib ahayn inay baraan.
whose mouths ought to be stopped; for they upset whole households by teaching what they ought not to teach, merely to make questionable gains.
12 Mid iyaga ka mid ahaa oo nebigoodii ahaa ayaa wuxuu yidhi, Reer Kereetee weligood waa beenaalayaal, iyo dugaag xun, iyo kuwo cir weyn oo caajisiin ah.
It was a Cretan — one of their own teachers — who said: ‘Cretans are always liars, base brutes, and gluttonous idlers’; and his statement is true.
13 Markhaatigaasu waa run. Sababtaas aawadeed aad u canaano iyaga inay iimaanka si run ah ugu socdaan
Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they may be sound in the Faith,
14 iyagoo aan dhegaysanayn sheekooyinka Yuhuudda iyo amarrada dadka runta ka leexanaya.
and may pay no attention to Jewish legends, or to the directions of those who turn their backs upon the Truth.
15 Kuwa daahirka ah wax waluba waa u daahir, laakiin kuwa nijaasaysan oo aan rumaysadka lahayn waxba daahir uma aha, laakiinse kaskooda iyo niyadooduba waa nijaasoobeen.
Everything is pure to the pure-minded, but to those whose minds are polluted and who are unbelievers nothing is pure. Their minds and consciences are alike polluted.
16 Waxay afka ka qirtaan inay Ilaah yaqaaniin, laakiin camalladooday isaga kaga hor yimaadaan, iyagoo karaahiyo iyo caasiyiin ah, oo xagga shuqul wanaagsan oo dhan laga nacay.
They profess to know God, but by their actions they disown him. They are degraded and self-willed; and, as far as anything good is concerned, they are utterly worthless.
