1 Rabbiyow, Sayidkayagiiyow, Magacaagu dunida oo dhan ku fiicanaa! Waayo, sharaftaadii waxaad ka sarraysiisay samooyinka.

To the Overseer, 'On the Gittith.' A Psalm of David. Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth! Who settest thine honour on the heavens.

2 Waxaad xoog u yeeshay afka ilmaha yaryar iyo caanonuugga, Waana cadaawayaashaada daraaddood, Si aad u aamusiisid cadowga iyo aardoonka.

From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

3 Markaan ka fiirsado samooyinka farahaaga lagu sameeyey, Iyo dayaxa iyo xiddigaha aad amartay,

For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.

4 Bal waa maxay dadku oo aad u xusuusataa isaga? Iyo wiilka aadanaha oo aad u soo booqataa?

What [is] man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?

5 Waayo, waxaad isaga wax yar ka hoosaysiisay malaa'igaha, Waxaanad taaj uga dhigtay ammaan iyo murwad.

And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.

6 Oo waxaad isaga ka dhigtay inuu u taliyo shuqullada gacmahaaga, Oo wax walbana cagihiisaad ka hoosaysiisay,

Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.

7 Idaha iyo lo'da oo dhan, Iyo xayawaanka duurka joogaba,

Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

8 Iyo haadka hawada, iyo kalluunka badda, Iyo wax alla waxa ku dhex socda waddooyinka badaha.

Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!
