1 Haddaan Rabbigu inala jirin Hadda reer binu Israa'iil ha yidhaahdeen,

A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. If the Lord had not bene on our side, (may Israel now say)

2 Haddaan Rabbigu inala jirin, Markii dadku inagu kacay,

If the Lord had not bene on our side, when men rose vp against vs,

3 Kolkaasay innagoo noolnool ina wada liqliqi lahaayeen, Markay aad inoogu cadhoodeen,

They had then swallowed vs vp quicke, when their wrath was kindled against vs.

4 Kolkaasay biyuhu ina qarqin lahaayeen, Durdurna nafteennuu dul mari lahaa,

Then the waters had drowned vs, and the streame had gone ouer our soule:

5 Oo kolkaasay biyaha kibirsanu nafteenna dul mari lahaayeen.

Then had the swelling waters gone ouer our soule.

6 Waxaa mahad leh Rabbiga Aan inaga dhigin ugaadh ilkahoodu ay qabsadaan.

Praysed be the Lord, which hath not giuen vs as a praye vnto their teeth.

7 Nafteennu waxay u baxsatay sida shimbir uga baxsato dabinka shimbirrodabtaha, Dabinkii wuu go'ay, innaguna waynu baxsannay.

Our soule is escaped, euen as a bird out of the snare of the foulers: the snare is broken, and we are deliuered.

8 Caawimaaddeennu waxay ku jirtaa magaca Rabbiga Sameeyey samada iyo dhulkaba.

Our helpe is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
