< Maahmaahyadii 8 >
1 Haddaba xigmaddu sow ma dhawaaqin? Waxgarashaduna codkeedii sow kor uma qaadin?
Behold, wisdom calleth, and understanding sendeth forth her voice,
2 Waxay taagan tahay meelaha sarreeya Oo jidka agtiisa ah, meesha waddooyinku ku kulmaan.
On the top of high places, by the wayside, at the house where there are [many] paths doth she place herself.
3 Oo waxay ka qaylisaa irdaha agtooda, Meesha magaalada laga soo galo, Iyo meesha albaabbada laga soo galoba.
Alongside of gates, at the opening of the city, at the entrance of the town[-doors] doth she call loudly,
4 Nimanyahow, idinkaan idiin dhawaaqayaa, Oo codkayguna wuxuu u yeedhayaa binu-aadmiga.
Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice [goeth forth] to the sons of men,
5 Garaadlaawayaashow, miyir lahaada, Nacasyadoy, waxgarasho qalbiga ku haysta.
Learn, O ye simple, to understand prudence: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 I maqla, waayo, waxaan ku hadlayaa waxyaalo wanaagsan, Oo waxaan bushimaha u kala qaadayaa waxyaalo qumman.
Hear! for of noble things will I speak; and the opening of my lips shall be of what is equitable.
7 Maxaa yeelay, afkaygu run buu ku hadlayaa; Oo bushimahayguna shar bay karhaan.
For truth uttereth my palate ever, and the abomination of my lips is wickedness.
8 Erayada afkayga oo dhammi waa xaq, Oo innaba wax qalloocan ama maroorsan lagama helo.
In righteousness are all the sayings of my mouth, there is in them nothing crooked or perverse.
9 Iyagu dhammaantood waa u cad yihiin kii wax garanaya, Oo waana u qumman yihiin kuwa aqoonta hela.
They are all evident to the man of understanding, and correct to those that have obtained knowledge.
10 Edbintayda qaata, lacagse ha qaadanina, Oo aqoontana ka hor doorta dahabka saafiga ah.
Accept my correction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 Waayo, xigmaddu waa ka sii wanaagsan tahay luulka, Oo wax alla waxa la damci karo oo dhanna iyada lalama simi karo.
For wisdom is better than pearls; and all the things that men wish for are not equal to her.
12 Anigoo xigmad ahu, waxaan la fadhiyaa miyir, Oo waxaan helaa aqoon iyo digtoonaan.
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and the knowledge of discreet thoughts do I discover.
13 Rabbiga ka cabsashadiisu waa in sharka la naco. Kibirka, iyo madaxweynaanta, iyo jidka sharka, Iyo afka qalloocan ayaan anigu necbahay.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride and arrogance, and the evil way: and the mouth of perverseness do I hate.
14 Talo iyo xigmad anigaa iska leh, Oo waxaan ahay waxgarasho, xoogna waan leeyahay.
Mine are counsel and sound wisdom: I am understanding; mine is might.
15 Boqorradu gacantayday wax ku xukumaan, Oo amiirraduna amarkaygay garta ku gooyaan.
Through me do kings reign, and chieftains give decrees [in] righteousness.
16 Taliyayaasha iyo saraakiisha iyo weliba xaakinnada dunida oo dhammuna Anigay wax iigu taliyaan.
Through me do princes rule, and the nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 Anigu kuwa i jecel waan jeclahay, Oo kuwa aad iyo aad ii doonaana way i heli doonaan.
I indeed love those that love me: and those that seek me earnestly shall find me.
18 Anigaa iska leh taajirnimo iyo sharaf. Iyo weliba maal raagaya iyo xaqnimoba.
Riches and honor are with me, yea, enduring wealth and righteousness.
19 Midhahaygu way ka sii wanaagsan yihiin dahab, haah, oo xataa dahab aad u wanaagsan way ka sii wanaagsan yihiin, Oo waxa ii kordhaana way ka sii wanaagsan yihiin lacag la doortay.
My fruit is better than gold, and than fine gold; and my products, than choice silver.
20 Anigu waxaan ku socdaa jidka xaqnimada, Iyo waddooyinka garta dhexdooda,
On the road of righteousness do I walk firmly, in the midst the paths of justice:
21 Si aan kuwa i jecel uga dhigo inay maal dhaxlaan, Oo aan khasnadahooda ugu buuxiyo.
That I may cause those that love me to inherit a lasting possession; and their treasures will I fill
22 Rabbigu wuxuu i lahaan jiray bilowgii jidkiisa Iyo shuqulladiisii hore ka hor.
The Lord created me as the beginning of his way, the first of his works from the commencement,
23 Aniga aakhirada hore waa lay taagay, waxaan jiray bilowgii ugu horreeyey, Ama intaan dunidu jirin ka hor.
From eternity was I appointed chief, from the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.
24 Anigu waxaan dhashay intaan moolal jirin ka hor, Iyo intaanay jirin ilo biyo ka buuxaan.
When there were yet no depths, was I brought forth; when there were yet no springs laden heavily with water.
25 Intaan la qotomin buuraha Iyo kuraha ka hor ayaan anigu dhashay,
Before the mountains were yet sunk down, before the hills was I brought forth:
26 Intaanuu isagu samayn dhulka iyo berrimmada, Amase ciiddii dunida ugu horraysay.
While as yet he had not made the land and open fields, nor the chief of the dust of the world.
27 Markuu samooyinka hagaajiyey anigu waan joogay, Markuu xariijinta ku wareejiyey moolka dushiisa,
When he prepared the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle over the face of the deep;
28 Markuu cirka sare taagay, Markii ilaha moolku xoog yeesheen,
When he fastened the skies above; when the springs of the deep became strong;
29 Markuu badda xad u yeelay Si aan biyuhu amarkiisa ugu xadgudbin, Markuu aasaaskii dhulka dhigay,
When he assigned to the sea his decree, that the waters should not transgress his order: when he established firmly the foundations of the earth:
30 Markaas anigu isagaan dhinac joogay, anigoo ah sidii hawlhoggaamiye, Oo anigu maalin kasta faraxiisaan ahaa, Oo mar kasta hortiisaan ku rayrayn jiray;
Then was I near him, as a nursling: and I was day by day [his] delights, playing before him at all times;
31 Waxaan ku rayrayn jiray inta dhulkiisa la degay, Oo waxaan ku farxi jiray binu-aadmiga.
Playing in the world, his earth; and having my delights with the sons of men.
32 Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed, wiilashoy, bal i maqla; Waayo, waxaa barakaysan kuwa jidadkayga xajiya.
And now, O children [of men], hearken unto me! for happy those that observe my ways.
33 Edbinta dhegaysta, oo caqli yeesha, Oo ha diidina.
Hear correction, and be wise, and reject it not.
34 Waxaa barakaysan ninka i maqla, Oo maalin kasta irdahayga igu dhawra, Oo albaabbadayda igu suga.
Happy is the man that hearkeneth unto me, watching day by day at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 Waayo, ku alla kii i helaa wuxuu helaa nolol, Oo Rabbiguna raalli buu ka ahaan doonaa.
For he who findeth me findeth life, and he obtaineth favor from the Lord.
36 Laakiinse kii igu dembaabaa naftiisuu wax yeelaa, Kuwa aniga i neceb oo dhammu waxay jecel yihiin dhimasho.
But he that sinneth against me doth violence to his own soul: all those that hate me love death.
