Maahmaahyadii 2
1 Wiilkaygiiyow, haddaad erayadayda aqbashid, Oo aad amarradayda qalbigaaga ku haysatid,
My son, if thou wouldst but accept my words, and treasure up my commandments with thee;
2 Si aad dhegta xigmadda ugu dhigtid, Oo aad qalbigaagana waxgarashada ugu qabatid;
To let thy ear listen unto wisdom: [if] thou wouldst incline thy heart to understanding.
3 Haddaad wax-kala-garashada ka daba qaylisid, Oo aad codkaaga waxgarashada kor ugu qaaddid;
For if thou wilt call after intelligence; if after understanding thou wilt lift up thy voice;
4 Haddaad iyada u raadisid sida lacagta oo kale, Oo aad u doondoontid sida maal qarsoon,
If thou wilt seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:
5 Markaas waxaad garan doontaa Rabbiga ka cabsashadiisa, Oo waxaad heli doontaa aqoonta Ilaah.
Then wilt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and the knowledge of God wilt thou find.
6 Waayo, Rabbigu isagaa bixiya xigmadda, Oo afkiisa waxaa ka soo baxa aqoonta iyo waxgarashada.
For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.
7 Isagu kuwa xaqa ah xigmad buu u kaydiyaa, Oo kuwa daacadnimada u socdana waa u gaashaan.
He treasureth up sound wisdom for the righteous, as a shield to those that walk in integrity:
8 Isagu wuxuu dhawraa waddooyinka garta, Oo wuxuu xannaaneeyaa jidka quduusiintiisa.
That men may keep the paths of justice; and the way of his pious servants doth he guard.
9 Markaasaad garan doontaa xaqnimada, iyo garta, Iyo caaddilnimada, iyo jid kasta oo wanaagsan.
Then wilt thou understand righteousness, and justice, and equity: yea, every track of goodness.
10 Waayo, waxaa qalbigaaga soo geli doonta xigmadda, Oo aqoontuna waxay ka farxin doontaa naftaada;
For wisdom will enter thy heart, and knowledge will be pleasant unto thy soul;
11 Digtoonaanta baa ku xanaanayn doonta, Oo waxaa ku dhawri doonta waxgarashada,
Discretion will watch over thee, understanding will keep thee;
12 Si lagaaga samatabbixiyo jidka kan sharka ah, Iyo dadka waxyaalaha qalloocan ku hadla,
To deliver thee from the way of the bad, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
13 Oo qummanaanta waddooyinkeeda ka taga, Si ay jidadka gudcurka ugu socdaan,
[From those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Oo ay ku reyreeyaan inay xumaan falaan, Oo ay qalloocnaanta kan sharkaa ku farxaan;
Who rejoice to do evil, who are delighted in the perverseness of the bad;
15 Oo jidadkoodu maroorsan yihiin, Oo waddooyinkooduna qalloocan yihiin,
Who as regardeth their paths are crooked, and froward in their tracks.
16 In lagaa samatabbixiyo naagta qalaad, Xataa naagta qalaad oo hadalladeeda kugu sasabata,
To deliver thee from the adulteress, from the alien woman that useth flattering speeches;
17 Taasoo ka tagta horseedkii yaraanteeda, Oo illowda axdigii Ilaaheeda;
That forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18 Waayo, gurigeedu wuxuu ku foororaa dhimasho, Oo waddooyinkeeduna waxay ku dhaadhacaan kuwii dhintay.
For she sinketh unto death—her house, and unto the departed [lead] her tracks.
19 Kuwa iyada u gala midkoodna sooma noqdo, Oo waddooyinka noloshana ma ay helaan.
All that come unto her return not again, and they will not reach the paths of life.
20 Waa inaad ku socotid jidka dadka wanaagsan, Oo aad dhawrtid waddooyinka kuwa xaqa ah.
In order that thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and observe the paths of the righteous.
21 Waayo, kuwa qummanu dhulkay fadhiyi doonaan, Oo kuwa kaamilka ahuna way sii joogi doonaan.
For the upright will dwell on the earth, and the perfect will be left remaining on it.
22 Laakiinse kuwa sharkaa waa laga gooyn doonaa dhulka, Oo khaayinnadana waa laga rujin doonaa.
But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be plucked up therefrom.
