1 Miskiinka daacadnimadiisa ku socda ayaa ka wanaagsan Nacaska bushimihiisu qalloocan yihiin.
The folly of a man spoils his ways: and he blames God in his heart.
2 Oo weliba in naftu aqoon la'aato ma wanaagsana, Oo kii cagihiisu degdegaanna wuu ambadaa.
3 Nin nacasnimadiisu jidkiisay qalloocisaa, Oo isagu qalbigiisa ayuu Rabbiga uga cadhoodaa.
4 Maalku wuxuu badiyaa saaxiibbo, Laakiinse miskiinku saaxiibkiisa buu ka soocmaa.
Wealth acquires many friends; but the poor is deserted even of the friend he has.
5 Markhaatigii been ahu ma taqsiir la'aan doono, Oo kii been ku hadlaana ma baxsan doono.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that accuses unjustly shall not escape.
6 Kuwa badan ayaa deeqsiga raallinimo ka baryi doona, Oo nin kastaaba waa u saaxiib kii hadiyado bixiya.
Many court the favour of kings; but every bad man becomes a reproach to [another] man.
7 Miskiinka walaalihiis oo dhammu way neceb yihiin, Haddaba saaxiibbadiisuna intee bay ka fogaan doonaan! Isagu hadal buu kala daba tagaa iyaga, laakiinse way tageen.
Every one who hates [his] poor brother shall also be far from friendship. Good understanding will draw near to them that know it, and a sensible man will find it. He that does much harm perfects mischief; and he that used provoking words shall not escape.
8 Kii xigmadda helaa naftiisuu jecel yahay, Oo kii waxgarashada xajistaana wax wanaagsan buu heli doonaa.
He that procures wisdom loves himself; and he that keeps wisdom shall find good.
9 Markhaatigii been ahu ma taqsiir la'aan doono, Oo kii been ku hadlaana wuu halligmi doonaa.
A false witness shall not be unpunished; and whosoever shall kindle mischief shall perish by it.
10 Nacaska raaxo uma eka, Waxaana taas ka sii liita in addoon amiirro xukumo.
Delight does not suit a fool, nor [is it seemly] if a servant should begin to rule with haughtiness.
11 Nin miyirkiisu cadho buu ka celiyaa, Oo waxaa isaga ammaan u ah inuu xadgudub dhaafo.
A merciful man is long-suffering; and his triumph overtakes transgressors.
12 Boqorka cadhadiisu waa sida libaaxa cidiisa, Laakiinse raallinimadiisu waa sida sayaxa cawska ku dega.
The threatening of a king is like the roaring of a lion; but as dew on the grass, so is his favour.
13 Wiilkii nacas ahu waa u belaayo aabbihiis, Oo naag murammadeeduna waa sida dhibicyo aan kala go'in.
A foolish son is a disgrace to his father: vows [paid out] of the hire of a harlot are not pure.
14 Hoy iyo hanti aabbayaashaa laga dhaxlaa, Laakiinse afo miyir leh xagga Rabbigaa laga helaa.
Fathers divide house and substance to [their] children: but a wife is suited to a man by the Lord.
15 Caajisnimo waxay keentaa hurdo weyn, Oo qofkii caajis ahuna wuu gaajoon doonaa.
Cowardice possesses the effeminate [man]; and the soul of the sluggard shall hunger.
16 Kii amarka dhawraa naftiisuu dhawraa, Laakiinse kii jidadkiisa fudaydsadaa wuu dhiman doonaa.
He that keeps the commandment keeps his own soul; but he that despises his ways shall perish.
17 Kii miskiinka u naxaa Rabbiguu wax amaahiyaa, Oo wanaaggii uu sameeyeyna wuu u celin doonaa.
He that has pity on the poor lends to the Lord; and he will recompense to him according to his gift.
18 Wiilkaaga edbi intay rajo jirto, Laakiinse naftaada ha ku qasbin si uu u dhinto.
Chasten thy son, for so he shall be hopeful; and be not exalted in thy soul to haughtiness.
19 Ninkii cadho badan waa la taqsiiri doonaa, Waayo, haddaad mar isaga samatabbixiso, haddana waa inaad mar kale sidii oo kale ku samaysaa.
A malicious man shall be severely punished, and if he commit injury, he shall also lose his life.
20 Talada maqal, oo edbinta qaado, Si aad ugu dambaystaada caqli u yeelatid.
Hear, son, the instruction of thy father, that thou mayest be wise at thy latter end.
21 Nin qalbigiisa waxaa ku jira hindisooyin badan, Habase ahaatee waxaa taagnaan doonta talada Rabbiga.
[There are] many thoughts in a man's heart; but the counsel of the Lord abides for ever.
22 Nin waxaa loo doonayaa waa raxmaddiisa, Oo miskiinkuna waa ka wanaagsan yahay beenaalaha.
Mercy is a fruit to a man: and a poor man is better than a rich liar.
23 Kii Rabbiga ka cabsada waxaa loo kaxeeyaa xagga nolosha, Wuuna sii dheregsanaan doonaa, Oo sharna loo keeni maayo.
The fear of the Lord is life to a man: and he shall lodge without fear in places where knowledge is not seen.
24 Ninkii caajis ahu wuxuu gacanta geliyaa xeedhada, Oo mar dambe xagga afkiisa uma soo celiyo.
He that unjustly hides his hands in his bosom, will not even [bring] them up to his mouth.
25 Kan wax quudhsada garaac, oo garaadlaawaha ayaa miyir yeelan doona, Oo kii garasho leh canaano, oo isna aqoon buu sii korodhsan doonaa.
When a pestilent character is scourged, a simple man is made wiser: and if thou reprove a wise man, he will understand discretion.
26 Kii aabbihiis kharriba, hooyadiisna erya, Waa wiil ceeb keena oo cay soo jiida.
He that dishonours his father, and drives away his mother, shall be disgraced and shall be exposed to reproach.
27 Wiilkaygiiyow ka joogso in markaad edbinta maqashid Aad dabadeed hadalka aqoonta ka ambatid.
A son who ceases to attend to the instruction of a father will cherish evil designs.
28 Markhaatigii waxmatare ahu gartuu quudhsadaa, Oo kan sharka leh afkiisuna wuxuu liqaa xumaan.
He that becomes surety for a foolish child will despise the ordinance: and the mouth of ungodly men shall drink down judgment.
29 Kuwa wax quudhsada waxaa loo diyaariyey xukunno, Oo dhabarka nacasyadana waxaa loo diyaariyey karbaash.
Scourges are preparing for the intemperate, and punishments likewise for fools.
