< Maahmaahyadii 17 >
1 Wuxoogaa cunto qallalan ah oo xasilloonaanu la jirto Ayaa ka wanaagsan guri hilib allabari ka buuxo oo diriru la jirto.
Better is a morsel with pleasure in peace, than a house [full] of many good things and unjust sacrifices, with strife.
2 Addoonkii caqli lahu wuxuu xukumi doonaa wiilkii ceeb soo jiida, Oo walaalaha ayuu la dhaxal geli doonaa.
A wise servant shall have rule over foolish masters, and shall divide portions among brethren.
3 Weelka lacagta lagu safeeyo lacagtaa iska leh, oo foornadana dahabkaa iska leh, Laakiinse Rabbigu qalbiyaduu imtixaamaa.
As silver and gold are tried in a furnace, so are choice hearts with the Lord.
4 Xumaanfaluhu wuxuu maqlaa bushimaha shar leh, Oo beenaaluhuna wuxuu dhegaystaa carrabka xun.
A bad man hearkens to the tongue of transgressors: but a righteous man attends not to false lips.
5 Ku alla kii miskiinka ku majaajiloodaa wuxuu caayaa Kan sameeyey, Kii belaayooyin ku farxaana ma taqsiir la'aan doono.
He that laughs at the poor provokes him that made him; and he that rejoices at the destruction of another shall not be held guiltless: but he that has compassion shall find mercy.
6 Odayaasha waxaa taaj u ah carruurta carruurtooda, Oo sharafta carruurtuna waa aabbayaashood.
Children's children are the crown of old men; and their fathers are the glory of children. The faithful has the whole world full of wealth; but the faithless not even a farthing.
7 Hadalkii weynu nacas uma eka, Sidaas oo kalena bushimihii been sheegaa amiir uma eka.
Faithful lips will not suit a fool; nor lying lips a just man.
8 Hadiyaddu waxay kii haysta la tahay sida dhagax qaali ah, Oo meel alla meeshay u leexataba way ku barwaaqowdaa.
Instruction is to them that use it a gracious reward; and whithersoever it may turn, it shall prosper.
9 Kii xadgudub qariyaa jacayl buu doondoonaa, Laakiinse kii xaal ku noqnoqdaa saaxiibbuu kala kaxeeyaa.
He that conceals injuries seeks love; but he that hates to hide [them] separates friends and kindred.
10 Canaantu waxay ninkii garasho leh u tartaa In ka badan boqol jeedal oo nacas lagu dhuftay ay u taraan.
A threat breaks down the heart of a wise man; but a fool, though scourged, understands not.
11 Ninkii shar lahu wuxuu doondoonaa caasinimo keliya, Sidaas daraaddeed waxaa isaga lagu diri doonaa farriingeeye aan naxariis lahayn.
Every bad man stirs up strifes: but the Lord will send out against him an unmerciful messenger.
12 Nin ha la kulmo orso dhasheeda laga xaday, Intuu nacas nacasnimo samaynaya la kulmi lahaa.
Care may befall a man of understanding; but fools will meditate evils.
13 Ku alla kii wanaag xumaan ku celiyaa, Gurigiisa xumaanu ka fogaan mayso.
Whoso rewards evil for good, evil shall not be removed from his house.
14 Muranka bilowgiisu waa sida biyo la soo faruuray. Haddaba isqabashada iska daa intaan lays ilaaqin.
Rightful rule gives power to words; but sedition and strife precede poverty.
15 Kii kan sharka leh xaq ka dhiga, iyo kii kan xaqa ah gardarro ku xukuma, Labadaba Rabbigu aad buu u karhaa.
He that pronounces the unjust just, and the just unjust, is unclean and abominable with God.
16 Lacagta nacaska gacantiisa ku jirtaa bal maxay u tartaa inuu xigmad ku soo iibsado, Waayo, isagu garasho ma leh?
Why has the fool wealth? for a senseless man will not be able to purchase wisdom. He that exalts his own house seeks ruin; and he that turns aside from instruction shall fall into mischief.
17 Had iyo goor saaxiibba saaxiibkii wuu jecel yahay, Walaalna wuxuu u dhashay dhibaato.
Have thou a friend for every time, and let brethren be useful in distress; for on this account are they born.
18 Ninkii garaaddaranu gacan buu dhaar ugu dhiibaa, Oo wuxuu dammiin ku noqdaa deriskiisa hortiisa.
A foolish man applauds and rejoices over himself, [as he] also that becomes surety would make himself responsible for his own friends.
19 Kii xadgudub jecelu muran buu jecel yahay, Oo kii iriddiisa sarraysiiyaana wuxuu doondoontaa baabba'.
A lover of sin rejoices in strifes;
20 Kii qalbi qalloocan lahu wanaag ma helo, Oo kii carrab maroorsan lahuna wuxuu ku dhex dhacaa belaayo.
and the hard-hearted man comes not in for good. A man of a changeful tongue will fall into mischiefs;
21 Kii nacas dhalaa murugtiisuu u dhalaa, Oo nacas aabbihiisna farxad ma leh.
and the heart of a fool is grief to its possessor. A father rejoices not over an uninstructed son; but a wise son gladdens his mother.
22 Qalbigii faraxsanu waa dawo wanaagsan, Laakiinse qalbigii jabanu lafahuu engejiyaa.
A glad heart promotes health; but the bones of a sorrowful man dry up.
23 Ninkii shar lahu laabtuu laaluush ka qaataa, Si uu jidadka garta u qalloociyo.
The ways of a man who unjustly receives gifts in [his] bosom do not prosper; and an ungodly man perverts the ways of righteousness.
24 Xigmaddu waxay hor joogtaa kii garasho leh; Laakiinse nacaska indhihiisu waxay eegaan dhulka darafkiisa.
The countenance of a wise man is sensible; but the eyes of a fool [go] to the ends of the earth.
25 Wiilkii nacas ahu waa u murug aabbihiis, Waana u qadhaadh tii dashay.
A foolish son [is a cause of] anger to his father, and grief to her that bore him.
26 Weliba ma wanaagsana in kii xaq ah la taqsiiro, Ama in kuwa sharafka leh qummanaantooda aawadeed wax loogu dhufto.
[It is] not right to punish a righteous man, nor [is it] holy to plot against righteous princes.
27 Kii hadalkiisa yareeyaa, aqoon buu leeyahay, Oo kii qalbigiisu qabow yahayna waa nin garasho leh.
He that forbears to utter a hard word is discreet, and a patient man is wise.
28 Xataa nacasku markuu iska aamusan yahay waxaa loo yaqaan mid caqli leh, Kii bushimihiisa isku qabtana nin miyir leh.
Wisdom shall be imputed to a fool who asks after wisdom: and he who holds his peace shall seem to be sensible.
