1 Jawaabta qaboobu cadhada way qaboojisaa, Laakiinse hadalkii qallafsanu xanaaq buu kiciyaa.
Anger slays even wise men; yet a submissive answer turns away wrath: but a grievous word stirs up anger.
2 Kuwa caqliga leh carrabkoodu aqoon buu ku hadlaa, Laakiinse afka nacasyadu wuxuu shubaa nacasnimo.
The tongue of the wise knows what is good: but the mouth of the foolish tells out evil things.
3 Rabbiga indhihiisu meel kastay jiraan, Iyagoo fiirinaya kuwa xun iyo kuwa wanaagsan.
The eyes of the Lord behold both the evil and the good in every place.
4 Carrabka wanaagsanu waa geed nololeed Laakiinse carrabka qalloocan ayaa qalbigu ku jabaa.
The wholesome tongue is a tree of life, and he that keeps it shall be filled with understanding.
5 Nacasku edbinta aabbihiis wuu quudhsadaa, Laakiinse kii canaanta maqlaa miyir buu yeeshaa.
A fool scorns his father's instruction; but he that keeps his commandments is more prudent. In abounding righteousness is great strength: but the ungodly shall utterly perish from the earth.
6 Kan xaqa ah gurigiisa khasnad weyn baa taal, Laakiinse waxa kan sharka leh u kordhaa waa dhib.
In the houses of the righteous is much strength: but the fruits of the ungodly shall perish.
7 Kuwa caqliga leh bushimahoodu aqoon bay faafiyaan, Laakiinse qalbiga nacasyadu sidaas ma aha.
The lips of the wise are bound by discretion: but the hearts of the foolish are not safe.
8 Allabariga kuwa sharka lahu Rabbiga waa u karaahiyo, Laakiinse kuwa qumman baryadoodu isagay ka farxisaa.
The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord; but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable with him.
9 Jidka kan sharka lahu Rabbiga waa u karaahiyo, Laakiinse isagu waa jecel yahay kii xaqnimada raaca.
The ways of an ungodly [man] are an abomination to the Lord; but he loves those that follow after righteousness.
10 Kii jidka ka taga waa u taqsiir kulul, Oo kii canaanta necebuna wuu dhiman doonaa.
The instruction of the simple is known by them that pass by; but they that hate reproofs die disgracefully.
11 She'ool iyo halligaaduba Rabbiga hortiisay yaalliin, Haddaba intee in ka sii badan buu arkaa qalbiga binu-aadmiga? (Sheol )
Hell and destruction are manifest to the Lord; how shall not also be the hearts of men? (Sheol )
12 Kii wax quudhsadaa ma jecla in la canaanto, Oo dooni maayo inuu kuwa caqliga leh u tago.
An uninstructed person will not love those that reprove him; neither will he associate with the wise.
13 Qalbigii faraxsanu wejiguu nuuriyaa, Laakiinse caloolxumaanta ayaa qalbigu ku jabaa.
When the heart rejoices the countenance is cheerful; but when it is in sorrow, [the countenance] is sad.
14 Kii garasho leh qalbigiisu aqoon buu doondoonaa, Laakiinse nacasyada afkoodu wuxuu cunaa nacasnimo.
An upright heart seeks discretion; but the mouth of the uninstructed will experience evils.
15 Kuwa dhibaataysan maalmahooda oo dhammu waa xunxun yihiin, Laakiinse kii qalbigiisu faraxsan yahay had iyo goorba waa u iid.
The eyes of the wicked are always looking for evil things; but the good are always quiet.
16 Wax yar oo Rabbiga ka cabsashadiisu la jirto Ayaa ka wanaagsan khasnado badan oo dhib la jirto.
Better is a small portion with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without the fear [of the Lord].
17 Cunto khudaareed oo jacayl la jiro Ayaa ka wanaagsan dibi la cayiliyey oo nacayb la jiro.
Better is an entertainment of herbs with friendliness and kindness, than a feast of calves, with enmity.
18 Ninkii cadho badanu muran buu kiciyaa, Laakiinse kii cadhada u gaabiyaa murankuu qaboojiyaa.
A passionate man stirs up strife; but [he that is] slow to anger appeases even a rising one. A man slow to anger will extinguish quarrels; but an ungodly man rather stirs [them] up.
19 Ninkii caajis ah jidkiisu waa sida meel qodxan leh oo kale, Laakiinse kii xaq ah jidkiisu waa dariiq bannaan.
The ways of sluggards are strewn with thorns; but those of the diligent are made smooth.
20 Wiilkii caqli lahu aabbihiisuu ka farxiyaa, Laakiinse ninkii nacas ahu hooyadiisuu quudhsadaa.
A wise son gladdens [his] father; but a foolish son sneers at his mother.
21 Nacasnimadu waa u farxad ninkii caqlidaran, Laakiinse ninkii garasho lahu si qumman buu u socdaa.
The ways of a foolish man are void of sense; but a wise man proceeds on his way aright.
22 Meeshii aan talo jirin xaajooyinku waa baabba', Laakiinse taliyayaashii badan ayay ku hagaagaan.
They that honor not councils put off deliberation; but counsel abides in the hearts of counselors.
23 Nin wuxuu farxad ka helaa jawaabta afkiisa, Oo eraygii wakhti ku habboon la yidhaahdaana sidee buu u wanaagsan yahay!
A bad man will by no means attend to counsel; neither will he say anything seasonable, or good for the common [weal].
24 Jidka noloshu waa u kor kii caqli leh, Si uu uga tago She'oolka hoose. (Sheol )
The thoughts of the wise are ways of life, that he may turn aside and escape from hell. (Sheol )
25 Rabbigu wuu dumin doonaa guriga kuwa kibirka leh, Laakiinse dhulka carmalka xadkiisa wuu adkayn doonaa.
The Lord pulls down the houses of scorners; but he establishes the border of the widow.
26 Rabbigu fikirrada sharka ah aad buu u karhaa, Laakiinse kuwa daahirkaa hadal wanaagsan bay ku hadlaan.
An unrighteous thought is abomination to the Lord; but the sayings of the pure are held in honor.
27 Kan faa'iido u hunguri weynu reerkiisuu dhibaa, Laakiinse kii hadiyadaha necebu wuu noolaan doonaa.
A receiver of bribes destroys himself; but he that hates the receiving of bribes is safe. [By alms and by faithful dealings sins are purged away; ] but by the fear of the Lord every one departs from evil.
28 Kan xaqa ah qalbigiisu wuxuu ka fikiraa sida loo jawaabo, Laakiinse kuwa sharka leh afkoodu wuxuu shubaa waxyaalo shar ah.
The hearts of the righteous meditate faithfulness; but the mouth of the ungodly answers evil things. The ways of righteous men are acceptable with the Lord; and through them even enemies become friends.
29 Rabbigu kuwa sharka leh wuu ka fog yahay, Laakiinse kuwa xaqa ah baryadooduu maqlaa.
God is far from the ungodly; but he hearkens to the prayers of the righteous. Better are small receipts with righteousness, than abundant fruits with unrighteousness. Let the heart of a man think justly, that his steps may be rightly ordered of God. The eye that sees rightly rejoices the heart; and a good report fattens the bones.
30 Indhaha nuurkoodu qalbiguu ka farxiyaa, Oo warkii wanaagsanuna lafahuu barwaaqaysiiyaa.
31 Dhegtii canaanta nolosha maqashaa Waxay joogi doontaa kuwa caqliga leh dhexdooda.
32 Kii edbinta diidaa naftiisuu quudhsadaa, Laakiinse kii canaanta maqlaa waxgarashuu helaa.
He that rejects instruction hates himself; but he that mind reproofs loves his soul.
33 Rabbiga ka cabsashadiisu waa edbinta xigmadda, Oo sharaftana waxaa ka horreeya is-hoosaysiinta.
The fear of the Lord is instruction and wisdom; and the highest honor will correspond therewith.
