1 Markaasaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
Yahweh said to Moses/me,
2 Waxaad reer binu Israa'iil amar ku tidhaahdaa, Xerada ka saara mid kasta oo baras qaba, iyo mid kasta oo dheecaan ka dareera, iyo mid kasta oo meyd ku nijaasoobay.
“Tell this to the Israeli people: ‘You must send away from your (camp/area where you have your tents) any man or woman who has leprosy and anyone who has a discharge [of some fluid from his body], and anyone who has become unacceptable to God because of [having touched] a corpse.
3 Oo waa inaad rag iyo dumarba bixisaan, oo aad xerada dibaddeeda geeysaan si aanay u nijaasayn xeradooda aan anigu dhex deggan ahay.
Send them away from there in order that they will not [touch people in the camp area] where I live among you and cause them to become unacceptable to me.’”
4 Oo reer binu Israa'iilna sidaasay yeeleen, oo iyagii xerada dibaddeeday geeyeen, oo sidii Rabbigu Muuse kula hadlay ayaa reer binu Israa'iil yeeleen.
So [Moses/I told that to the Israeli people, and] the Israeli people obeyed what Yahweh commanded Moses/me.
5 Oo haddana ayaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
Yahweh also told Moses/me,
6 Reer binu Israa'iil la hadal oo waxaad ku tidhaahdaa, Haddii nin ama naagu ay galaan dembi ay dadku galaan, oo ay Rabbiga ku xadgudbaan, oo ay naftaasu sidaas eed ku lahaato,
“Tell this to the Israeli people: ‘If someone (commits a crime against/does something wrong to) another person, [I consider that] that person has done wrong to me.
7 markaas waa inay qirtaan dembigoodii ay sameeyeen. Oo wixii uu ku xadgudbay waa inuu dhammaan u magdhabaa, oo weliba ku sii daraa shan meelood meesheed, oo siiyaa kii uu ku xadgudbay.
That person must confess that he or she is guilty, and he or she must pay to the person to whom wrong was done [what others consider to be a suitable/proper payment] for what he has done, and he must pay an extra 20 percent.
8 Laakiinse ninku hadduusan lahayn xigto xadgudubkii mag laga siiyo, markaas magta xadgudubka ee Rabbiga loo bixiyo waxaa lahaan doona wadaadka; oo weliba waxaa wehliya wanka kafaaraggudka oo isaga aawadiis loogu kafaaro gudo.
If the person against whom the wrong was done [has died and] there is no relative to whom the money can be paid, then the money belongs to me, and it must be paid to the priest. In addition, the one who did the wrong must give a male sheep to the priest [to sacrifice] in order that (that person’s sin may be forgiven/I can forgive that person for his sin).
9 Oo qurbaan kasta oo sare loo qaado oo ah waxyaalaha quduuska ah oo dhan ee ay reer binu Israa'iil wadaadka u keenaan waa in isagu lahaadaa.
All the sacred offerings that the Israelis bring to the priest belong to the priest.
10 Oo nin walba waxyaalihiisa quduuska ah waa in wadaadku lahaadaa, oo wax alla wixii nin wadaadka siiyana isagu waa inuu lahaadaa.
The priest can keep those gifts.’”
11 Oo haddana ayaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
Yahweh also said this to Moses/me:
12 Reer binu Israa'iil la hadal oo waxaad ku tidhaahdaa, Haddii nin naagtiis isaga ka tagto oo ay ku xadgudubto,
“Tell this to the Israeli people: ‘Suppose a man thinks that his wife has slept with another man,
13 oo haddii nin kale la jiifsado oo waxaas ninkeedii laga qariyo oo qarsoodi loo haysto, oo ay naagtaasu sidaas ku nijaasowdo, laakiinse markhaati loo waayo iyada, amase aan iyada lagu qaban samayntii,
but neither he nor anyone else knows if it is true or not, because no one saw her doing that.
14 oo markaas haddii masayr ku soo dego ninka oo uu naagtiisa ka masayro oo ay iyadu nijaasowday, amase haddii masayr ku soo dego oo uu naagtiisa ka masayro oo ayan iyadu nijaasoobin,
But if the woman’s husband is jealous, and if he suspects that she has committed adultery, and he wants to know whether that is true or not,
15 markaas ninku waa inuu naagtiisa wadaadka u keenaa, oo iyada aawadeed qurbaan ugu keenaa eefaah toban meelood loo qaybiyey meeshiis bur shaciir ah. Isagu waa inuusan saliidna ku shubin amase foox saarin, waayo, taasu waxa weeye qurbaankii masayrka, waana qurbaan xusuuseed oo dembiga lagu soo xusuusto.
he should take his wife to the priest. He must take along as an offering two quarts/liters of barley flour. The priest must not pour [olive] oil or incense on it, because this is an offering that the man has brought because he (is jealous/wants his wife to sleep only with him). It is an offering to find out if she is guilty or not. [Neither olive oil nor incense should be used because are associated with joy and this is not a time for joy.]
16 Markaas wadaadku waa inuu iyada soo dhoweeyaa oo Rabbiga hortiisa keenaa.
The priest must tell the woman to stand [in front of the altar] in my presence.
17 Oo markaas wadaadku waa inuu biyo quduus ah weel dhoobo ah ku qaadaa, oo ciidda taambuugga dhulkiisa taalna waa in wadaadku qaadaa oo biyaha ku shubaa,
He must put some sacred water in a clay jar, and then he must put some dirt from the floor of the Sacred Tent into the water.
18 oo markaas waa in wadaadku naagta keenaa Rabbiga hortiisa, oo naagta timaheeduna ha furfurnaadaan, oo qurbaankii xusuuseedna gacmaheeda ha ku rido, kaasoo ah qurbaankii masayrka. Wadaadkuna gacanta ha ku haysto biyaha qadhaadhka ah oo habaarka kiciyo.
He must untie/unfasten the woman’s hair. Then he must put in her hands the grain that her jealous husband is offering to determine whether she has committed adultery or not. The priest must hold [the bowl that contains] bitter water that will cause (the woman to be cursed/bad things to happen to the woman) [if she is guilty].
19 Oo markaas wadaadku iyada ha dhaariyo, oo ha ku yidhaahdo naagta, Hadduusan nin kale kula jiifsan, oo aadan nijaaso ku leexan, adoo ninkaaga ka dambayn lahaa, ka xorow biyahan qadhaadhka ah oo habaarka kiciyo,
The priest must require her to solemnly declare [that she will tell the truth]. Then he must say to her, “Has another man had sex [EUP] with you? Have you faithfully [slept only with your husband] or not? If you have not slept with another man, nothing bad will happen to you if you drink the water.
20 laakiinse haddaad gees u leexatay adigoo ninkaaga ka dambayn lahaa, oo aad markaas nijaasowday, oo haddii nin kale kula jiifsaday ninkaaga mooyaane,
But if you have had sex with another man, [Yahweh will curse you].
21 markaas wadaadku waa inuu naagta ku dhaariyaa dhaar habaar ah, oo wadaadku naagta ha ku yidhaahdo, Markuu Rabbigu bowdadaada hilib beeliyo oo uu calooshaada barariyo, dadkaaga dhexdiisa ha kaaga dhigo habaar iyo dhaar,
Your womb will shrivel up and your stomach will swell up. You will never be able to give birth to children, and as a result, everyone will curse you and avoid you. If you have committed adultery, [when you drink] this water, that is what will happen to you.” Then the woman must answer, “[If I am guilty], I will not object if that happens.”
22 oo biyahan habaarka kiciyaa way ku geli doonaan, oo calooshaaday bararin doonaan, bowdadaadana way hilib beelin doonaan. Oo naagtuna waa inay tidhaahdaa, Aamiin, Aamiin.
23 Oo wadaadkiina waa inuu habaarradaas buug ku qoraa, oo uu biyaha qadhaadhka ah ku baabbi'iyaa.
‘Then the priest must write [with ink] on a small scroll these (curses/bad things that will happen to her if she is guilty) [and then wash the ink off into the bitter water].
24 Oo waa inuu naagta cabsiiyaa biyaha qadhaadhka ah oo habaarka kiciya, oo biyaha habaarka kiciyaa ayaa iyada geli doona oo qadhaadh bay noqon doonaan.
The priest must take from her the offering of barley flour [that she is holding], and lift it up to dedicate it to me. Then he must put it on the altar
25 Oo markaas wadaadku waa inuu qurbaankii masayrka naagta gacanteeda ka qaadaa oo Rabbiga hortiisa ku ruxruxaa, oo markaas waa inuu meesha allabariga keenaa.
26 Oo markaas wadaadku waa inuu qaadaa cantoobo muggeed oo qurbaanka xusuuseed ah, oo waa inuu meesha allabariga ku dul gubaa, oo haddana naagta biyaha cabsiiyaa.
and burn part of it as a sacrifice. Then the woman must drink the bitter water.
27 Oo markuu iyada biyaha cabsiiyo markaas hadday iyadu nijaasowday, oo ay ninkeeda ku xadgudubtay, biyaha habaarka kiciya iyaday geli doonaan oo qadhaadh bay noqon doonaan, oo caloosheedu way barari doontaa oo bowdadeeduna way hilib beeli doontaa; oo naagtu waxay dadkeeda ku dhex ahaan doontaa habaar.
If the woman has committed adultery, the water will cause her to suffer greatly. Her stomach will swell up and her womb will shrink, [and she will be unable to give birth to children]. And then her (relatives/fellow Israelis) will curse her.
28 Laakiinse naagtu haddaanay nijaasoobin illowse ay daahir tahay, markaas iyadu xor bay ahaanaysaa, wayna uuraysanaysaa.
But if she (is innocent/has not committed adultery), her body will not be harmed, and she will still be able to give birth to children.
29 Kanu waa sharciga ku saabsan masayrka haddii naagu iyadoo ninkeeda ka dambayn lahayd ka leexato oo ay nijaasowdo,
‘That is the ritual that must be performed when a woman who is married has been unfaithful to her husband,
30 ama haddii masayr ku soo dego nin, oo uu naagtiisa ka masayro, de markaas waa inuu naagta Rabbiga hor keenaa, oo wadaadku waa inuu iyada sharcigaas oo dhan ku oofiyaa.
or when a man is jealous and suspects that his wife [has had sex with another man]. The priest must tell that woman to stand [at the altar] in my presence and obey these instructions.
31 Oo markaas ninku dembi xor buu ka ahaanayaa, oo naagtaasuna dembigeeda way qaadan doontaa.
Even if the woman has not done what the husband suspected, he will not be punished [MTY] for doing something wrong [by bringing his wife to the priest]. But if his wife is guilty, she will suffer as a result.’”
