1 Markaas madaxdii qabiilka reer Gilecaad oo ahaa ina Maakiir, ina Manaseh oo ka mid ahaa qabiilooyinkii ilma Yuusuf way soo dhowaadeen, oo waxay ku hor hadleen Muuse iyo amiirradii ahaa madaxdii qolooyinka reer binu Israa'iil,
The family leaders of the clan of Gilead of the tribe of Manasseh went to Moses/me and the other family leaders of the Israeli people.
2 oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Sayidkayagiiyow, Rabbigu wuxuu kugu amray inaad reer binu Israa'iil dalka dhaxal ahaan saami ugu kala qaybiso, oo weliba, sayidkayagiiyow, waxaa Rabbigu kugu amray inaad walaalkayo Selaafexaad gabdhihiisa dhaxalka siiso.
They said to Moses/me, “Yahweh commanded you, our leader, to apportion the land to the Israeli tribes by throwing (lots/stones that have been marked) to decide [which group would get which area]. Yahweh also commanded you to give the land that belonged to our fellow Israeli Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 Oo hadday guursadaan wiilasha qabiilooyinka kale oo reer binu Israa'iil, markaas dhaxalkoodii waa laga gooynayaa dhaxalka awowayaashayo, oo waxaa lagu dari doonaa dhaxalka qabiilka ay ka guursadeen, oo sidaasaa looga qaadan doonaa qaybtii dhaxalkayaga.
But if his daughters marry men from the other Israeli tribes, that land will no longer belong to our tribe. People of other tribes will get it. So some of our land will no longer belong to us.
4 Oo markii reer binu Israa'iil ay gaadhaan sannaddii Yubilii, ayaa dhaxalkooda lagu dari doonaa dhaxalka qabiilka ay ka guursadeen, oo sidaasaa dhaxalkooda looga qaadi doonaa dhaxalka qabiilka awowayaashayo.
When the Year of Celebration comes, [when all the land that has been bought by someone is returned to its original owners], the land that belonged to Zelophehad will belong to the tribes of the men that his daughters marry. So some of our land, the land that we received from our fathers, will be taken from us, [and we will never own it again].”
5 Markaasaa Muuse reer binu Israa'iil ku amray sidii uu eraygii Rabbigu ahaa, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Qabiilka ilma Yuusuf wax qumman bay ku hadleen.
Yahweh told Moses/me what to reply to them, so Moses/I said this to them: “These men from the tribe of Manasseh are right.
6 Waxyaalaha ku saabsan Selaafexaad gabdhihiisa oo Rabbigu amray waa kuwan, oo wuxuu yidhi, Iyagu ha guursadeen kii la wanaagsan iyaga, laakiinse qabiilka aabbahood uun ha ka guursadeen.
This is what Yahweh is saying to the daughters of Zelophehad: ‘Each of you may marry anyone you want to, but you must marry only someone from your own tribe.’
7 Sidaasaanu dhaxalka reer binu Israa'iil qabiil uga tagayn oo qabiil kale ugu dhaafayn, waayo, reer binu Israa'iil nin waluba waa inuu sii xajiyaa dhaxalkii qabiilka awowayaashiis.
In that way, the land that belongs to Israelis will not be passed from one tribe to another tribe. Each Israeli will keep the land in the tribe that belonged to his ancestors.
8 Oo gabadh kasta oo dhaxal ku leh qabiilooyinka reer binu Israa'iil middood waa inay afo u ahaato mid ka mid ah qolada qabiilka aabbaheed, si reer binu Israa'iil nin waluba u lahaado dhaxalkii awowayaashiis.
A woman who inherits her father’s land may get married, but she must marry someone from her own tribe. In that way, every Israeli will keep the land that belonged to his ancestors.
9 Sidaasaanu dhaxalna qabiil uga tagayn oo qabiil kale ugu dhaafayn, waayo, qabiilooyinka reer binu Israa'iil mid waluba waa inuu dhaxalkiisa sii xajiyaa.
The land must not be passed from one tribe to another tribe. Each Israeli tribe must keep the land that it received from its ancestors.”
10 Oo sidii Rabbigu Muuse ku amray ayay Selaafexaad gabdhihiisu yeeleen,
Zelophehad’s daughters obeyed what Yahweh told Moses/me.
11 waayo, Maxlaah, iyo Tirsaah, iyo Xoglaah, iyo Milkaah, iyo Nocaah, oo ahaa Selaafexaad gabdhihiisii, waxay wada guursadeen ilma-adeerradood.
The five daughters—Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah—married their cousins, their father’s relatives.
12 Oo waxay ka guursadeen qabiilooyinkii ilma Manaseh oo ahaa ina Yuusuf, oo dhaxalkoodii wuxuu ku hadhay qabiilkii reerka aabbahood.
The men whom they married were from the tribe of Manasseh, so their land continued to belong to their father’s family and tribe.
13 Intaasu waa amarradii iyo xukummadii uu Rabbigu u soo dhiibay Muuse oo uu ku amray reer binu Israa'iil oo jooga bannaankii Moo'aab oo Webi Urdun u dhowaa ee Yerixoo ka soo hor jeeday.
Those were the commands [DOU] that Yahweh gave to Moses/me to tell to the Israelis, while they/we were on the plains of the Moab region, close to the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
