1 Oo reer binu Israa'iil, xataa shirkii oo dhammu waxay cidladii Sin yimaadeen bishii kowaad. Markaasaa dadkii waxay degeen Qaadeesh, oo Maryanna halkaasay ku dhimatay, oo halkaasaa lagu aasay.
And the sons of Israel, and the entire multitude, went into the desert of Sin, in the first month. And the people stayed at Kadesh. And Miriam died there, and she was buried in the same place.
2 Oo shirkiina biyo ma haysan, oo markaasay Muuse iyo Haaruun u wada shireen.
And when the people were in need of water, they came together against Moses and Aaron.
3 Kolkaasaa dadkii Muuse la dirireen, wayna la hadleen oo ku yidhaahdeen, Waxaa noo roonayd inaannu walaalahayo iskala dhimanno markay Rabbiga hortiisa ku dhinteen!
And as it turned into sedition, they said: “If only we had perished among our brothers in the sight of the Lord.
4 Bal maxaad shirka Rabbiga cidladan u keenteen si aan annaga iyo lo'dayaduba halkan ugu wada dhimanno?
Why have you led away the Church of the Lord, into the wilderness, so that both we and our cattle would die?
5 Oo maxaadse dalkii Masar nooga soo bixiseen, oo aad meeshan sharka ah noo keenteen? Waayo, meeshanu ma aha meel laga helo midho, ama berde, ama geedcanab, amase rummaanno; oo biyo la cabbona laguma arko.
Why did you cause us to ascend from Egypt, and why have you led us into this most wretched place, which is not able to be sown, which does not produce figs, or vines, or pomegranates, and which, moreover, does not even have water to drink?”
6 Markaasay Muuse iyo Haaruun ururka hortiisii uga tageen iriddii teendhadii shirka, kolkaasay wejiga dhulka dhigeen, oo waxaa iyagii u muuqatay ammaantii Rabbiga.
And Moses and Aaron, dismissing the multitude, entered the tabernacle of the covenant, and they fell prone on the ground, and they cried out to the Lord, and they said: “O Lord God, listen to the outcry of this people, and open for them, from your storehouse, a fountain of living water, so that, being satisfied, their murmuring may cease.” And the glory of the Lord appeared over them.
7 Markaasaa Rabbigu Muuse la hadlay, oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
8 Usha qaado, oo adiga iyo walaalkaa Haaruun dadka shirka ah oo dhan soo shiriya, oo iyagoo arkaya dhagaxa la hadla, biyo ha soo daayee; oo waa inaad iyaga dhagaxa biyo uga keentaa, si aad u wada waraabisid shirka iyo lo'doodaba.
“Take the rod, and gather the people, you and your brother Aaron, and speak to the rock before them, and it shall bestow waters. And when you have brought forth water from the rock, the entire multitude and their cattle shall drink.”
9 Markaasaa Muuse ushii ka qaatay Rabbiga hortiisa, siduu isaga ugu amray.
Therefore, Moses took the rod, which was in the sight of the Lord, just as he had instructed him.
10 Kolkaasay Muuse iyo Haaruun ururkii oo dhan ku soo ururiyeen dhagaxa hortiisii, oo wuxuu iyagii ku yidhi, War bal maqla, caasiyiin yahay. Dhagaxan biyo ma idiinka soo daynaa?
And having gathered the multitude before the rock, he said to them: “Listen, you who are rebellious and unbelieving. Would we be able to cast out water from this rock?”
11 Kolkaasaa Muuse gacanta kor u qaaday, oo dhagaxii ayuu ushiisii laba jeer ku dhuftay; oo waxaa ka soo baxay biyo aad u badan, oo shirkii iyo lo'doodiiba way wada cabbeen.
And when Moses had lifted up his hand, striking the stone twice with the rod, very great waters went forth, so much so that the people and their cattle were able to drink.
12 Markaasaa Rabbigu Muuse iyo Haaruun ku yidhi, Idinku ima aydaan rumaysan, oo quduusna igama aydaan dhigin reer binu Israa'iil hortooda, haddaba sidaas daraaddeed idinku shirkan geeyn maysaan dalkii aan iyaga siiyey.
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe me, so as to sanctify me before the sons of Israel, you shall not lead this people into the land, which I will give to them.”
13 Kuwanu waa biyihii Meriibaah, maxaa yeelay, reer binu Israa'iil way la dirireen Rabbiga, oo wuxuu iyaga tusay inuu quduus yahay.
This is the Water of Contradiction, where the sons of Israel were quarreling against the Lord, and he was sanctified in them.
14 Markaasaa Muuse kuwa farriin wada Qaadeesh uga diray boqorkii reer Edom, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Annagoo ah walaalahaa ilma Israa'iil waxaannu kugu leennahay, Waad garanaysaa dhibkii nagu soo dhacay oo dhan,
Meanwhile, Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom. They said: “Your brother Israel says this: You know of all the hardships which have overtaken us,
15 iyo sida awowayaashayo dalkii Masar u tageen, iyo inaannu Masar wakhti dheer degganayn. Masriyiintu aad iyo aad bay noo xumeeyeen annaga iyo awowayaashayoba.
how our fathers descended into Egypt, and we lived there for a long time, and the Egyptians afflicted both us and our fathers,
16 Oo markaannu Rabbiga u qayshannay, codkayagii wuu maqlay, oo wuxuu noo soo diray malaa'ig, oo Masarna wuu naga soo bixiyey, oo haddana waxaannu joognaa Qaadeesh oo ah magaalo ku taal soohdintaada darafkeeda.
and how we cried out to the Lord, and he heeded us and sent an Angel, who led us away from Egypt. Behold, we are situated in the city of Kadesh, which is at the extremity of your borders.
17 Waan ku baryayaaye, na daa aan dalkaaga dhex marnee. Kaa dhex mari mayno berrin ama beercanab, oo ceelasha biyahoodana ka cabbi mayno. Waxaannu iska maraynaa boqorka waddadiisa oo ugu leexan mayno xagga midigta ama xagga bidixda jeeraannu soohdintaada ka baxno.
And we beg you to permit us to cross through your land. We will not go through the fields, nor through the vineyards; we will not drink the waters of your wells, but we will travel by the public ways, neither turning aside to the right, nor to the left, until we have passed your borders.”
18 Markaasaa boqorkii Edom wuxuu ku yidhi, Dalkayga waa inaanad soo dhex marin yaanan seef kuula soo bixine.
Edom responded to them: “You shall not cross through me, otherwise, I will meet you armed.”
19 Markaasaa reer binu Israa'iil waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Annagu waddada weyn baannu iska maraynaa, oo annaga iyo lo'dayaduba haddaannu biyo kaa cabno qiimahooda waannu ku siinaynaa, haddaba annagoo aan innaba wax kale samayn aan dalkaaga cagaha ku dhex marno.
And the sons of Israel said: “We will travel by the well-trodden path. And if we or our cattle drink from your waters, we will give you what is just. There shall be no difficulty in the price, only let us cross through quickly.”
20 Oo isna wuxuu yidhi, Dalkayga soo dhex mari maysaan. Markaasaa boqorkii Edom wuxuu u soo baxay reer binu Israa'iil isagoo gacan xoog leh dad badan ku wata.
But he answered, “You shall not cross.” And immediately he went out to meet them with a countless multitude and a strong hand;
21 Oo sidaasuu boqorkii Edom ugu diiday reer binu Israa'iil inay soohdintiisa soo dhex maraan, oo saas aawadeed reer binu Israa'iil isagii way ka leexdeen.
neither was he willing to agree to their petition to concede passage through his borders. For this reason, Israel diverted away from him.
22 Oo Qaadeesh way ka guureen, oo reer binu Israa'iil xataa shirkii oo dhammu waxay yimaadeen Buur Xor.
And when they had moved the camp from Kadesh, they arrived at mount Hor, which is at the borders of the land of Edom,
23 Markaasaa Rabbigu Muuse iyo Haaruun kula hadlay Buur Xor oo ku ag taal soohdinta dalka Edom oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
where the Lord spoke to Moses:
24 Haaruun wuxuu ku darman doonaa dadkiisii, waayo, isagu geli maayo dalkii aan siiyey reer binu Israa'iil, maxaa yeelay, hadalkaygii waad ku caasideen markaad biyihii Meriibaah ag joogteen.
“Let Aaron,” he said, “go to his people. For he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because he did not believe my mouth at the Waters of Contradiction.
25 Haddaba Haaruun iyo wiilkiisa Elecaasaar soo wad, oo waxaad iyaga keentaa Buur Xor.
Take Aaron, and his son with him, and lead them on to mount Hor.
26 Oo markaas Haaruun dharkiisa ka bixi oo waxaad u gelisaa wiilkiisa Elecaasaar, oo Haaruun dadkiisa wuu ku darman doonaa, oo halkaasuu ku dhiman doonaa.
And when you have stripped the father of his vestments, you shall put them on Eleazar, his son. Aaron shall be gathered and shall die there.”
27 Markaasaa Muuse sameeyey sidii Rabbigu ku amray, oo waxay fuuleen Buur Xor iyadoo shirkii oo dhammu ay u jeedaan.
Moses did just as the Lord had instructed. And they ascended mount Hor, in the sight of the entire multitude.
28 Markaasaa Muuse Haaruun ka bixiyey dharkiisii, oo wuxuu u geliyey wiilkiisii Elecaasaar, markaasaa Haaruun ku dhintay halkaas oo ahaa buurtii dhaladeeda; kolkaasay Muuse iyo Elecaasaar buurtii ka soo degeen.
And when he had despoiled Aaron of his vestments, he clothed his son Eleazar with them. And when Aaron had died at the top of the mountain, Moses came down with Eleazar.
29 Oo markii shirkii oo dhammu ay arkeen in Haaruun dhintay ayaa reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu waxay Haaruun u ooyeen intii soddon maalmood ah.
And the entire multitude, seeing that Aaron lay dead, wept over him for thirty days, throughout all their families.
