< Naxuum 1 >
1 Kanu waa warka culus oo Nineweh ku saabsan. Oo waa kitaabkii waxa Naxuum kii reer Elkosh la tusay.
A message about Nineveh, a vision which came to Nahum from Elkosh.
2 Rabbigu waa Ilaah masayr ah oo waa aarsadaa, Rabbigu waa aarsadaa oo waa cadho miidhan. Rabbigu cadaawayaashiisa waa ka aargutaa, oo cadowgiisana cadho buu u kaydiyaa.
The Lord tolerates no rivals. The Lord is vengeful and fierce in wrath. The Lord does not fail to punish his foes; the Lord is vengeful against his enemies.
3 Rabbigu cadho wuu u gaabiya, waana xoog badan yahay, oo kii gardaran sinaba eedlaawe ugu haysan maayo. Rabbigu wuxuu jid ku leeyahay dabaysha cirwareenta ah iyo duufaanka, oo daruuruhuna waa boodhkii cagihiisa.
The Lord is slow to anger, great in power. The guilty will not escape his punishment. Storm tempest is his path and cloud is the dust of his feet.
4 Isagu wuxuu canaantaa badda, oo weliba iyaduu engejiyaa, oo webiyaasha oo dhanna wuu wada qallajiyaa. Baashaan iyo Karmel way engegaan, oo ubixii Lubnaanna waa dhaday.
He rebukes the sea and dries it up and makes all the streams run dry. Bashan and Carmel are languishing and the bloom of Lebanon is withered.
5 Buuruhu way ka gariiraan isaga, oo kuruhuna way dhalaalaan, oo dhulka xataa dunida iyo waxa deggan oo dhammuba way ku rogmadaan hortiisa.
The mountains tremble before him and the hills dissolve. The earth heaves before him, the world and all who live in it.
6 Bal yaa dhirifkiisa is-hor taagi kara? Oo bal yaa u adkaysan kara kulaylka cadhadiisa? Cadhadiisu waa u daadatay sidii dab oo kale, oo dhagaxyada waaweynna isagaa kala dildillaacshay.
Who can stand before his wrath? Who can withstand the heat of his anger? His fierce fury pours forth like fire, he shatters rocks.
7 Rabbigu waa wanaagsan yahay, oo wakhtigii dhib jirona waa qalcad, wuuna garanayaa kuwa isaga isku halleeya.
The Lord is good to those who hope in him, a place of refuge in the day of trouble.
8 Laakiinse meesheeda wuxuu ku baabbi'in doonaa daad soo buuxdhaafay, oo cadaawayaashiisana wuu u eryan doonaa gudcurka dhexdiisa.
With rushing flood an end he makes of those who rise against him, he drives his enemies into darkness.
9 War maxaad Rabbiga la damacsan tihiin? Isagu wuu wada baabbi'in doonaa. Dhibaatana mar labaad soo ma kici doonto.
Why do you plot against the Lord? He will end you. He only takes vengeance once.
10 Waayo, in kastoo ay la mid yihiin qodxan isku wada murugsan, oo ay yihiin sidii kuwo cabniinkoodii ku sakhraamay, haddana waxaa loo wada baabbi'in doonaa sidii bal engegay.
Thorns, tangled and drenched, they are consumed like dry stubble.
11 Waxaa kaa soo baxay mid Rabbiga wax shar ah u fikira, oo xumaato ku taliya.
Nineveh! From you has arisen one who plots evil against the Lord, a counsellor of wickedness.
12 Rabbigu wuxuu leeyahay, In kastoo ay xoog badan yihiin oo weliba ay tiro badan yihiin, haddana iyaga waa la wada gooyn doonaa, oo isna wuu dhammaan doonaa. In kastoo aan idin dhibay, mar dambe idin dhibi maayo.
The Lord says: “Though they are many and strong, they will pass away and be gone. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more,
13 Oo haatan harqoodkiisa waan idinka jebin doonaa, oo jebbooyinka idinku xidhanna waan jebin doonaa.
and now I will break his yoke from your necks and snap your chains.”
14 Oo Rabbigu wuxuu bixiyey amar kugu saabsan, si aan innaba mar dambe jirin farcan magacaaga sii wada. Guriga ilaahyadaada waxaan ka baabbi'in doonaa sanamka xardhan iyo sanamka la shubay, oo waxaan samayn doonaa qabrigaagii, waayo, waxaad tahay wax la fududaystay.
The Lord has given this command concerning you, Nineveh: “Your name will no longer be remembered. I will destroy every idol and image in the house of your God. I will destroy even your tomb, for you are worthless.”
15 Bal eega kan warka wanaagsan keenaya oo nabadda faafinaya cagihiisa oo buuraha dul socda! Dadka Yahuudahow, iidihiinna dhawra, oo nidarradiinna oofiya, waayo, kii sharka ahaa mar dambe idinma soo dhex mari doono, waayo, isagii waa la wada baabbi'iyey.
Look! On the mountains a messenger bringing good news, announcing peace! “Celebrate the feasts, Judah, fulfill your vows. Never again will these enemies invade your land, they are destroyed!”
