1 Markii Yashuuca dhintay dabadeed ayay reer binu Israa'iil Rabbiga weyddiiyeen, oo yidhaahdeen, Yaa marka hore xagga reer Kancaan noo hor kici doona oo noo dagaal geli doona?
After that Ioshua was dead, the children of Israel asked ye Lord, saying, Who shall goe vp for vs against the Canaanites, to fight first against them?
2 Markaasaa Rabbigu wuxuu ku yidhi, Reer Yahuudah ha baxeen, oo anna dalka gacantoodaan geliyey.
And the Lord said, Iudah shall goe vp: behold, I haue giuen the land into his hande.
3 Markaasaa reer Yahuudah waxay ku yidhaahdeen walaalahood reer Simecoon, Kaalaya oo markayaga na raaca aynu la dagaallanno reer Kancaane; oo annana sidaas oo kale markiinnaan idin raaci doonnaaye. Markaasay reer Simecoon raaceen.
And Iudah said vnto Simeon his brother, Come vp with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites: and I likewise will goe with thee into thy lot: so Simeon went with him.
4 Kolkaasay reer Yahuudah tageen, oo Rabbiguna wuxuu gacantoodii geliyey reer Kancaan iyo reer Feris, oo waxay Beseq kaga laayeen toban kun oo nin.
Then Iudah went vp, and the Lord deliuered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hands, and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.
5 Oo waxay Beseq ka heleen Adonii Beseq, oo way la dagaallameen, oo waxay laayeen reer Kancaan iyo reer Feris.
And they founde Adoni-bezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and slewe the Canaanites, and the Perizzites.
6 Laakiinse Adonii Beseq waa cararay, oo iyana way eryoodeen, wayna qabteen isagii, oo waxay ka gooyeen suulashiisii gacmaha iyo kuwiisii lugaha.
But Adoni-bezek fled, and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off the thumbes of his hands and of his feete.
7 Markaasaa Adonii Beseq wuxuu yidhi, Toddobaatan boqor oo suulashoodii gacmaha iyo kuwoodii lugahu ka go'an yihiin ayaa cuntadooda ka urursan jiray miiskayga hoostiisa; oo sidii aan yeelay ayaa Rabbigu ii abaalmariyey. Markaasay isagii keeneen Yeruusaalem, oo halkaasuu ku dhintay.
And Adoni-bezek said, Seuentie Kings hauing the thumbes of their hands and of their feete cut off, gathered bread vnder my table: as I haue done, so God hath rewarded me. so they brought him to Ierusalem, and there he died.
8 Oo Reer Yahuudah waxay la dirireen reer Yeruusaalem, oo intay magaaladii qabsadeen ayay dadkeedii ku laayeen seef, magaaladiina dab bay qabadsiiyeen.
(Nowe the children of Iudah had fought against Ierusalem, and had taken it and smitten it with the edge of the sworde, and had set the citie on fire.)
9 Oo dabadeedna reer Yahuudah waxay u kaceen inay la diriraan reer Kancaankii degganaa dalkii buuraha lahaa, iyo kuwii xagga koonfureed, iyo kuwii degganaa dalkii dooxada ahaa.
Afterwarde also the children of Iudah went downe to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountaine, and towarde the South, and in the lowe countrey.
10 Oo reer Yahuudah waxay ku duuleen dadkii reer Kancaan oo degganaa Xebroon, (oo waagii hore Xebroon magaceeda waxaa la odhan jiray Qiryad Arbac), oo waxay laayeen Sheeshay iyo Axiiman iyo Talmay.
And Iudah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron, which Hebron beforetime was called Kiriath-arba: and they slewe Sheshai, and Ahiman and Talmai.
11 Oo intay halkaas ka tageen ayay dadkii degganaa Debiir ku duuleen. (Oo waagii hore Debiir magaceedu wuxuu ahaa Qiryad Sefer).
And from thence hee went to the inhabitantes of Debir, and the name of Debir in olde time was Kiriath-sepher.
12 Markaasaa Kaaleeb wuxuu yidhi, Kii la dirira Qiryad Sefer oo qabsada, kaas waxaan u guurin doonaa gabadhayda Caksaah.
And Caleb saide, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, euen to him wil I giue Achsah my daughter to wife.
13 Markaasaa Cotnii'eel ina Qenas, kaasoo ahaa Kaaleeb walaalkiisii yaraa, magaaladii qabsaday; markaasuu wuxuu u guuriyey gabadhiisii Caksaah.
And Othniel the sonne of Kenaz Calebs yonger brother tooke it, to whome hee gaue Achsah his daughter to wife.
14 Oo markay u timid ayay kula talisay inuu aabbeheed berrin ka baryo; markaasay dameerkeedii ka soo degtay, oo Kaaleeb wuxuu ku yidhi iyadii, Maxaad doonaysaa?
And when shee came to him, shee mooued him to aske of her father a field, and shee lighted off her asse, and Caleb saide vnto her, What wilt thou?
15 Markaasay ku tidhi, Ii ducee, oo waxaad i siisaa ilo biyo ah, maxaa yeelay, waxaad i siisay dalkii koonfureed. Kolkaasaa Kaaleeb wuxuu siiyey ilihii sare iyo kuwii hooseba.
And shee answered him, Giue mee a blessing: for thou hast giuen me a South countrey, giue me also springs of water: and Caleb gaue her the springs aboue and the springs beneath.
16 Markaasay kii reer Qeyn oo ahaa Muuse seeddigiis reerkiisii ka tageen magaaladii lahayd geedaha timirta ah, oo waxay reer Yahuudah u raaceen xagga cidladii reer Yahuudah taasoo ku taal Caraad xaggeeda koonfureed; oo intay tageen ayay dadkii la degeen.
And the childre of Keni Moses father in law went vp out of the citie of the palme trees with the children of Iudah, into the wildernesse of Iudah, that lieth in the South of Arad, and went and dwelt among the people.
17 Oo reer Yahuudahna waxay raaceen walaalahood reer Simecoon, oo waxay laayeen reer Kancaan oo Sefad degganaa, oo dhammaanteedna way baabbi'iyeen. Oo magaaladii magaceediina waxaa la odhan jiray Xormaah.
But Iudah went with Simeon his brother, and they slewe the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and vtterly destroied it, and called the name of the citie Hormah.
18 Oo reer Yahuudah waxay qabsadeen haddana Gaasa iyo xuduudkeedii, iyo Ashqeloon iyo xuduudkeedii, iyo Ceqroon iyo xuduudkeedii.
Also Iudah tooke Azzah with the coasts thereof, and Askelon with the coasts thereof, and Ekron with the coastes thereof.
19 Oo Rabbigu waa la jiray reer Yahuudah, oo wuxuu hortooda ka eryay dadkii degganaa dalkii buuraha lahaa; maxaa yeelay, ma ay eryi karin dadkii dooxadii degganaa, waayo, waxay lahaayeen gaadhifardood bir ah.
And the Lord was with Iudah, and he possessed the mountaines: for he could not driue out the inhabitantes of the valleis, because they had charrets of yron.
20 Oo markaasay Xebroon siiyeen Kaaleeb, sidii Muuse markii hore u sheegay; oo halkaas wuxuu ka eryay Canaaq saddexdiisii wiil.
And they gaue Hebron vnto Caleb, as Moses had saide, and hee expelled thence the three sonnes of Anak.
21 Oo reer Benyaamiin ma ay eryin dadkii reer Yebuus oo Yeruusaalem degganaa; laakiinse reer Yebuus waxay Yeruusaalem la degganaayeen reer Benyaamiin ilaa maantadan la joogo.
But the children of Beniamin did not cast out the Iebusites, that inhabited Ierusalem: therefore the Iebusites dwell with the children of Beniamin in Ierusalem vnto this day.
22 Oo reer Yuusufna waxay ku kaceen Beytel; oo Rabbiguna wuu la jiray iyagii.
They also that were of the house of Ioseph, went vp to Beth-el, and the Lord was with them,
23 Oo reer Yuusufna waxay Beytel u direen ilaallo soo basaasta. (Magaaladaas markii hore waxaa magaceeda la odhan jiray Luus.)
And the house of Ioseph caused to viewe Beth-el (and the name of the citie beforetime was Luz)

And the spies sawe a man come out of the citie, and they saide vnto him, Shewe vs, we praie thee, the way into the citie, and we will shewe thee mercie.
25 Markaasuu iyagii tusay iriddii magaalada laga geli jiray, oo waxay dadkii magaalada ku laayeen seef, laakiinse ninkii iyo xaaskiisii oo dhanba way iska sii daayeen.
And when hee had shewed them the waie into the citie, they smote the citie with the edge of the sworde, but they let the man and all his housholde depart.
26 Markaasaa ninkii wuxuu tegey dalkii reer Xeed, oo halkaasuu magaalo ka dhisay, oo magaceediina wuxuu u bixiyey Luus, kaasoo ah magaceeda ilaa maantadan la joogo.
Then the man went into the lande of the Hittites, and built a citie, and called the name thereof Luz, which is the name thereof vnto this daie.
27 Oo reer Manasehna ma ay eryin dadkii degganaa Beytshe'aan iyo magaalooyinkeedii, ama kuwii Tacanaag iyo magaalooyinkeedii, ama dadkii degganaa Door iyo magaalooyinkeedii, ama dadkii degganaa Yiblecaam iyo magaalooyinkeedii, ama dadkii degganaa Megiddoo iyo magaalooyinkeedii, laakiinse reer Kancaan waxay doonayeen inay dalkaas degganaadaan.
Neither did Manasseh destroie Bethshean with her townes, nor Taanach with her townes, nor the inhabitantes of Dor with her townes, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam with her townes, neither the inhabitants of Megiddo with her townes: but the Canaanites dwelled still in that lande.

Neuerthelesse when Israel was strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute, and expelled them not wholly.
29 Oo reer Efrayimna ma ay eryin dadkii reer Kancaan oo degganaa Geser; laakiinse reer Kancaan iyagay la degganaayeen Geser.
Likewise Ephraim expelled not the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.
30 Oo reer Sebulunna ma ay eryin dadkii degganaa Qitroon, iyo dadkii degganaa Nahalaal, laakiinse reer Kancaan waxay degganaayeen iyaga dhexdooda, oo addoommo ayay u noqdeen.
Neither did Zebulun expell the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol, but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.
31 Oo reer Aasheerna ma ay eryin dadkii degganaa Cakoo, ama dadkii degganaa Siidoon, ama kuwii Axlaab, ama kuwii Aksiib, ama kuwii Xelbaah, ama kuwii Afiiq, ama kuwii Rexob.
Neither did Asher cast out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob,
32 Laakiinse reer Aasheer waxay dhex degganaayeen reer Kancaan oo ahaa dadkii dalka degganaa, maxaa yeelay, iyagu ma ay eryin.
But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites the inhabitantes of the lande: for they did not driue them out.
33 Oo reer Naftaalina ma ay eryin dadkii degganaa Beytshemesh ama dadkii degganaa Beytcanaad; laakiinse wuxuu degganaa reer Kancaan dhexdooda, kuwaasoo ahaa dadkii dalka degganaa; habase yeeshee dadkii degganaa Beytshemesh iyo Beytcanaad addoommo ayaa u noqdeen iyaga.
Neither did Naphtali driue out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath, but dwelt among the Canaanites the inhabitants of the lande: neuerthelesse the inhabitantes of Beth-shemesh, and of Beth-anath became tributaries vnto them.
34 Markaasaa reer Amor waxay ku dirqiyeen reer Daan dalkii buuraha ahaa, maxaa yeelay, ma ay u oggolaan inay u soo degaan xagga dooxada.
And the Amorites droue the children of Dan into the mountaine: so that they suffered them not to come downe to the valley.
35 Laakiinse reer Amor waxay doonayeen inay degganaadaan Buur Xeres oo ku taal Ayaaloon iyo Shacalbiim; laakiinse waxaa ka adkaatay gacantii reer Yuusuf, oo sidaas daraaddeed addoommo ayay u noqdeen.
And the Ammonites dwelt still in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim, and when the hand of Iosephs familie preuailed, they became tributaries:
36 Oo xuduudkii reer Amorna wuxuu ka bilaabmayay meesha laga koro Caqrabbiim marka laga bilaabo Selac iyo inta ka sarraysa.
And the coast of the Amorites was from Maaleh-akrabbim, euen from Selah and vpward.
