1 Laakiinse wakhti yar dabadeed ayuu Samsoon xilligii sarreenka la goosan jiray soo booqday naagtiisii, isagoo orgi yar wada. Markaasuu yidhi, Naagtayda waxaan ugu tegayaa qowladda. Laakiinse aabbeheed uma uu oggolaanin inuu u tago.
Some time later when the wheat was being harvested, Samson went to pay his wife a visit, taking with him a young goat as a present. “I want to go to my wife in her bedroom,” he said when he arrived, but her father would not let him go in.
2 Oo aabbeheedna wuxuu yidhi, Sida runta ah waxaan mooday inaad nacday iyada, sidaas daraaddeed waxaan siiyey saaxiibkaa. Walaasheeda ka yari sow kama qurux badna? Haddaba waan ku baryayaaye, meesheedii ka qaado iyada.
“I thought you must totally hate her, so I gave her to your best man,” he told Samson. “But her younger sister is even more attractive—why don't you marry her instead?”
3 Markaasuu Samsoon iyagii ku yidhi, Markan anigu eed kuma lahaan doono markaan belaayo ku sameeyo reer Falastiin.
“This time I can't be blamed for the trouble I'm going to cause the Philistines,” Samson declared.
4 Markaasuu Samsoon tegey, oo wuxuu soo qabsaday saddex boqol oo dawaco, oo intuu qoryo soo qaaday ayuu dabooyinka isugu xidhay, oo qoryihiina wuxuu ku dhex xidhay laba dabo oo kasta.
He went and caught three hundred foxes and tied their tails together, two by two.
5 Oo markuu qoryihii dab ku dhejiyey dabadeed ayuu dawacooyinkii ku sii dhex daayay beerihii sarreenka ahaa oo reer Falastiin, markaasaa waxaa gubtay sarreenkii beeraha dhex tuulnaa iyo kii weli taagnaa, iyo weliba beerihii saytuunka ahaa.
He attached a torch to each of the tied tails and set them on fire. Then he let them loose in the grain fields of the Philistines, setting fire to all the grain, harvested and unharvested, as well as the vineyards and olive groves.
6 Markaasay reer Falastiin yidhaahdeen, Yaa waxakan sameeyey? Kolkaasay yidhaahdeen, Waxaa sameeyey Samsoon oo ah wiilka uu kan reer Timnaad soddogga u yahay, maxaa yeelay, isagu wuxuu ka qaaday naagtiisii, oo wuxuu siiyey saaxiibkiis. Kolkaasay reer Falastiin yimaadeen oo iyadii iyo aabbeheedba dab bay ku gubeen.
“Who did this?” the Philistines asked. “It was Samson, the son-in-law of the man from Timnah,” they were told. “That man gave Samson's wife to Samson's best man.” So the Philistines went and burned her and her father to death.
7 Kolkaasuu Samsoon iyagii ku yidhi, Haddaad sidatan yeeshaan, hubaal waan idinka aargudan doonaa, oo dabadeedna waan joogsan doonaa.
Samson told them, “If this is the way you're going to act, then I won't stop until I take my revenge on you!”
8 Markaasuu aad iyo aad u laayay, dabadeedna intuu dhaadhacay ayuu degay dillaacii dhagaxa weyn oo Ceetaam.
He attacked them violently, killing them, and then left to go and live in a cave at the rock of Etam.
9 Markaasay reer Falastiin intay tageen degeen dhulka Yahuudah, oo waxay ku dhex firdheen Lexii.
So the Philistine army came and camped in Judah, drawn up for battle near Lehi.
10 Oo markaasay raggii reer Yahuudah ku yidhaahdeen, War maxaad noogu soo duusheen? Oo iyana waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Waxaannu u nimid inaannu Samsoon soo xidhno oo ku samayno wixii uu nagu sameeyey oo kale.
The people of Judah asked, “Why have you invaded us?” “We've come to capture Samson, to do to him what he's done to us!” they replied.
11 Markaasaa dillaacii dhagaxa weyn oo Ceetaam waxaa ku dhaadhacay saddex kun oo nin oo reer Yahuudah ah, oo waxay Samsoon ku yidhaahdeen, War miyaanad ogayn inay reer Falastiin inoo taliyaan? Oo haddaba waa maxay waxakan aad nagu samaysay? Oo isna wuxuu ku yidhi, Wixii ay igu sameeyeen oo kale ayaan anna ku sameeyey iyaga.
Three thousand men of Judah went to the cave at the rock of Etam and asked Samson, “Don't you understand that the Philistines rule over us? What do you think you're doing to us?” “I only did what they did to me,” he replied.
12 Markaasay isagii ku yidhaahdeen, Waxaannu u nimid inaannu ku xidhno, si aannu gacanta kuugu gelinno reer Falastiin. Kolkaasuu Samsoon ku yidhi iyagii, Ii dhaarta inaydnaan idinku i dilayn.
“Well, we've come to take you prisoner and hand you over to the Philistines,” they told him. “Just swear to me that you're not going to kill me yourselves,” Samson answered.
13 Oo intay la hadleen ayay ku yidhaahdeen, Maya; laakiinse aad baannu kuu xidhaynaa oo gacantoodaannu ku gelinaynaa; laakiinse hubaal annagu ku dili mayno. Markaasay laba xadhig oo cusub ku soo xidheen, oo intay dhagaxii weynaa ka soo bixiyeen ayay kor u kexeeyeen.
“No, we won't,” they assured him. “We'll only tie you up and hand you over to the Philistines. We certainly aren't going to kill you!” They tied him using two new ropes and led him up from the rock.
14 Oo markuu Lexii yimid ayay reer Falastiin qayliyeen intay ka hor yimaadeen. Markaasuu Ruuxii Rabbigu aad ugu soo degay isagii, oo xadhkihii gacmihiisa ku xidhnaa waxay noqdeen sidii geed linen ah oo dab lagu gubay, birihiina way ka dhaceen gacmihiisii.
When Samson got close to Lehi, the Philistines ran towards him, shouting at him. But the Spirit of the Lord swept over him, and the ropes tying his arms together became as weak as burnt flax, and his hands broke free.
15 Markaasuu helay daan dameer oo cusub, oo intuu gacantiisii fidiyey ayuu ku qaatay, oo wuxuu daankii ku laayay kun nin.
He grabbed the fresh jawbone of a donkey, using it to kill a thousand Philistines.
16 Oo Samsoonna wuxuu yidhi, Dameer daankiis ayaan taallo taallo ku dul dhigay, Oo dameer daankiis ayaan kun nin ku laayay.
Then Samson declared, “With a donkey's jawbone I have piled the dead into heaps. With a donkey's jawbone I have killed a thousand men.”
17 Oo markuu hadalkii dhammeeyey ayuu daankii iska xooray, oo meeshaasna waxaa loo bixiyey Raamad Lexii.
After Samson had finished his speech, he threw away the jawbone, and he named the place Hill of the Jawbone.
18 Oo markaasuu aad u oomay, oo Rabbiguu baryay, oo wuxuu yidhi, Adaa samatabbixintan weyn gacantayda siiyey, anoo addoonkaaga ah, de haddaba ma waxaan u dhimanayaa oon, oo ma waxaan gelayaa gacanta kuwa buuryoqabka ah?
He was now extremely thirsty, and he Samson called out to the Lord, saying, “You have achieved this amazing victory through your servant, but now do I have to die of thirst and be captured by the heathen?”
19 Markaasaa Ilaah wuxuu kala dillaaciyey meeshii qodnayd oo Lexii ku tiil, oo waxaa ka soo baxay biyo, oo markuu cabbay ayaa naftiisii soo noqotay, wuuna noolaaday. Taas aawadeed meeshaas magaceedii waxaa loo bixiyey Ceyn Haqooree, oo xataa maanta waxay ku taal Lexii.
So God split open a rock seam in Lehi, and water came out of it. Samson drank and his strength returned—he felt much better. That's why he named it the Spring of the Caller, and it's still there in Lehi to this very day.
20 Oo isna wakhtigii reer Falastiin wuxuu reer binu Israa'iil xukumayay labaatan sannadood.
Samson led Israel as judge for twenty years during the time of the Philistines.
