1 Oo boqorkii Yeruusaalem oo Adonii Sedeq ahaa markuu maqlay siduu Yashuuca Aacii u qabsaday, oo uu dhammaanteed u baabbi'iyey, iyo siduu Yerixoo iyo boqorkeediiba ku sameeyey, oo uu haddana sidaas oo kale ku sameeyey Aacii iyo boqorkeediiba, iyo siday dadkii Gibecoon degganaa oo ku dhex jiray ula nabdeen reer binu Israa'iil,
And it came to pass, when Adonizedec, king of Jerusalem, heard that Joshua had captured Ai, and devoted it to destruction, as he had done unto Jericho and her king, so, had he done unto Ai and her king, —and that the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and had come into their midst,
2 ayuu aad u cabsaday, maxaa yeelay, Gibecoon waxay ahayd magaalo weyn sida mid ka mid ah magaalooyinka boqorrada, waayo, way ka sii weynayd Aacii, oo dadkeeda oo dhammuna waa xoog badnaayeen.
then feared they greatly, because Gibeon was, a great city, as one of the royal cities, —and because, it, was greater than Ai, and, all the men thereof, were mighty:
3 Sidaas daraaddeed boqorkii Yeruusaalem oo ahaa Adonii Sedeq wuxuu u cid diray boqorkii Xebroon oo ahaa Hoohaam, iyo boqorkii Yarmuud oo ahaa Firaam, iyo boqorkii Laakiish oo ahaa Yaafiica, iyo boqorkii Cegloon oo ahaa Debiir, oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
therefore sent Adonizedec, king of Jerusalem, unto Hoham, king of Hebron, and unto Piram, king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia, king of Lachish, and unto Debir, king of Eglon, saying:
4 Ii kaalaya, oo i caawiya, oo ina keena aynu Gibecoon baabbi'innee; waayo, waxay la nabadday Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil.
Come up unto me and help me, that we may smite Gibeon, —for it hath made peace with Joshua, and with the sons of Israel.
5 Sidaas daraaddeed shantii boqor oo reer Amor waa iswada urursadeen, oo kuwaasu waxay ahaayeen boqorkii Yeruusaalem, iyo boqorkii Xebroon, iyo boqorkii Yarmuud, iyo boqorkii Laakiish, iyo boqorkii Cegloon; iyaga iyo ciidammadooda oo dhammu kor bay u bixiyeen oo waxay hor degeen Gibecoon oo dagaal ku qaadeen.
So they gathered themselves together and came up, even the five kings of the Amorites—the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, —they, and all their hosts, —and encamped near Gibeon, and made war against it.
6 Oo dadkii reer Gibecoon waxay u cid dirteen Yashuuca oo joogay xeradii Gilgaal, oo waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Gacantaadu yay ka raagin addoommadaada, noo soo dhaqso, oo na badbaadi, oo na caawi: maxaa yeelay, boqorradii reer Amor oo buuraha degganaa oo dhammu way isu kaayo urursadeen.
So the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua, unto the camp at Gilgal, saying, Do not withhold thy hand from thy servants, —Come up unto us quickly, and save us, and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill-country, are gathered together against us.
7 Sidaas daraaddeed Yashuuca wuxuu ka tegey Gilgaal isagoo ay la socdaan dadkii dagaalyahannada ahaa oo dhan iyo raggii xoogga lahaa oo dhammuba.
So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, even all the mighty men of valour.
8 Oo markaasaa Rabbigu wuxuu Yashuuca ku yidhi, Iyaga ha ka cabsan, waayo, iyaga gacmahaagaan kuu soo geliyey. Midkoodna isma kaa hor taagi doono.
And Yahweh said unto Joshua: Do not fear because of them, for, into thy hand, have I delivered them, —not a man of them shall stand before thee.
9 Oo sidaas daraaddeed Yashuuca ayaa ku soo kediyey iyagii, waayo, habeenkii oo dhan buu ka soo guuraynayay Gilgaal.
So then Joshua came in unto them, suddenly, —all the night, came he up, from Gilgal.
10 Oo markaasaa Rabbigu cabsi ku riday iyagii reer binu Israa'iil hortooda, oo Gibecoon agteeda ayuu aad ugu laayay, oo wuxuu u eryaday xagga jidkii kor loo baxo Beytxooroon, oo wuxuu ku laynayay ilaa Caseeqaah iyo tan iyo Maqeedaah.
And Yahweh confused them before Israel, and smote them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, —and chased them along the way that goeth up Beth-horon, and smote them as far as Azekah and as far as Makkedah.
11 Oo markay ka carareen reer binu Israa'iil, intay ku sii jireen dhaadhaca Beytxooroon, ayaa Rabbigu wuxuu iyaga samada kaga soo daayay roob dhagaxyo leh oo waaweyn ilaa Caseeqaah, oo way dhinteen; oo intii roobkii dhagaxyada lahaa ku dhimatay baa ka sii badnayd intoodii reer binu Israa'iil seefta ku laayeen.
And it came to pass, when they fled from before Israel, they, being on the slope of Beth-horon, that, Yahweh, cast down upon them great stones out of the heavens, as far as Azekah, and they died, —more, were they who died by the hailstones, than they whom the sons of Israel slew with the sword.
12 Markaasaa Yashuuca Rabbiga la hadlay maalintii Rabbigu reer Amor u dhiibay reer binu Israa'iil, oo wuxuu reer binu Israa'iil hortooda ka yidhi, Qorraxday, istaag Gibecoon korkeeda, Adiguna, Dayaxow, waxaad kor istaagtaa dooxada Ayaaloon.
Then, spake Joshua unto Yahweh, on the day when Yahweh delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, —yea he said, in the presence of Israel—Thou Sun! in Gibeon, be still, and thou Moon! in the vale of Aijalon.
13 Oo markaasaa qorraxdii istaagtay; dayaxiina waa joogsaday, Ilaa ay quruuntii ka aarsatay cadaawayaashoodii. Tanu miyaanay ku qornayn kitaabkii Yaashaar? Oo qorraxdii waxay ku joogsatay samada dhexdeeda, umana ay degdegin inay hoos u dhacdo maalin dhan.
So the sun, was still, and, the moon, stayed, until a nation should be avenged on its foes. Is not, that, written in the Book of the Upright? So then the sun stayed in the middle of the heavens, and hastened not to go in, about a whole day.
14 Oo maalintaas maalin la mid ahu kamana horrayn, kamana dambayn, ee uu Rabbigu maqlay nin codkiis: waayo, Rabbigu wuxuu u diriray reer binu Israa'iil.
And there was no day like that—before it or after it, when Yahweh hearkened unto the voice of a man, —in that, Yahweh, himself fought for Israel.
15 Markaasaa Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu waxay ku noqdeen xeradii ku tiil Gilgaal.
So Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp at Gilgal.
16 Kolkaasaa shantii boqor carartay, oo waxay ku dhuunteen godkii ku yiil Maqeedaah.
So these five kings fled, —and hid themselves in a cave, at Makkedah.
17 Oo markaasaa Yashuuca loo sheegay, oo waxaa lagu yidhi, Shantii boqor waxaa la helay iyagoo ku qarsoon god ku yaal Maqeedaah.
And it was told Joshua, saying, —The five kings are found, hid in a cave at Makkedah.
18 Markaasuu Yashuuca yidhi, Dhagaxyo waaweyn ku giringiriya godka afiisa, oo rag dhawrana ag taaga;
And Joshua said, Roll ye great stones against the mouth of the cave, —and set over it men, to watch them;
19 laakiinse intiinna kale ha joogsanina; ee cadaawayaashiinna eryada, oo laaya intooda ugu dambaysa, oo ha u oggolaanina inay galaan magaalooyinkooda; waayo, Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ah ayaa iyaga gacanta idiin geliyey.
but do not, ye, stay, chase after your enemies, so shall ye attack them in the rear, —do not suffer them to enter into their cities, for Yahweh your God hath delivered them into your hand.
20 Oo markii Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil ay dhammeeyeen layntii weynayd ee ay raggii laayeen, ilaa ay wada baabbi'iyeen oo firxadkii ka soo hadhayna ay galeen magaalooyinkii deyrarka lahaa,
And it came to pass, when Joshua and the sons of Israel had made an end of smiting them with a very great slaughter, until they were spent, then did, the remainder that were left of them, enter into the fortified cities.
21 ayaa dadkii oo dhammu nabdoonaan ku soo noqdeen Yashuuca oo joogay xeradii ku tiil Maqeedaah, oo mid qudh ahu afka uma kala qaadin reer binu Israa'iil.
And all the people returned unto the camp, unto Joshua at Makkedah, in peace, —none sharpened his tongue at any man of the sons of Israel.
22 Oo markaasuu Yashuuca yidhi, Godka afkiisa banneeya oo shantii boqor ka soo bixiya godkii oo ii keena.
Then said Joshua, Open ye the mouth of the cave, —and bring out unto me, these five kings, out of the cave.
23 Kolkaasay sidii yeeleen, oo waxay isagii u keeneen shantii boqor oo ay ka soo bixiyeen godkii, kuwaas oo ahaa boqorkii Yeruusaalem, iyo boqorkii Xebroon, iyo boqorkii Yarmuud, iyo boqorkii Laakiish, iyo boqorkii Cegloon.
And they did so, and brought out unto him, these five kings, out of the cave, —namely, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.
24 Oo markay boqorradii u keeneen Yashuuca ayuu u yeedhay raggii reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan, oo wuxuu raggii dagaalyahannada ahaa oo isaga raacay madaxdoodii ku yidhi, Soo dhowaada, oo boqorradan qoorta kaga joogsada. Oo kolkaasay soo dhowaadeen, oo boqorradii qoorta kaga joogsadeen.
And it came to pass, when they brought out these kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war who had been with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. So they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
25 Markaasaa Yashuuca wuxuu iyagii ku yidhi, Ha cabsanina, hana qalbi jabina; xoog yeesha oo aad u dhiirranaada; waayo, Rabbigu sidaasuu u geli doonaa cadaawayaashiinna aad la diriraysaan oo dhan.
Then said Joshua unto them: Do not fear, nor be alarmed, —be firm and bold, for, thus and thus, will Yahweh do unto all your enemies, against whom ye do fight.
26 Oo markaas dabadeed ayuu Yashuuca wada laayay, oo uu shan geed ka soo deldelay, oo waxay geedihii ka soo laalaadeen ilaa fiidkii.
And Joshua smote them after this, and put them to death, and hanged them upon five trees, —and they remained hung on the trees, until the evening,
27 Oo kolkay qorraxdu dhacday ayaa Yashuuca amray in laga soo dejiyo geedihii, oo kolkaasay ku tuureen godkii ay markii hore ku dhuunteen, oo markaasay dhagaxyo waaweyn godkii afkiisii saareen, oo waa sidii ilaa maantadan.
And it came to pass, at the time of the going in of the sun, that Joshua gave command, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave, where they had hid themselves, —and put great stones upon the mouth of the cave, [which remain], until this very day.
28 Oo Yashuuca maalintaasuu qabsaday Maqeedaah, oo wuxuu dadkeedii ku laayay seef, iyo xataa boqorkeedii; oo dadkii ku jiray oo dhan wuu wada baabbi'iyey, oo waxba kama uu reebin, oo boqorkii Maqeedaah wuxuu ku sameeyey sidii uu ku sameeyey boqorkii Yerixoo.
And Joshua captured, Makkedah, on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and, the king thereof, devoted he to destruction, them and all the souls that were therein, he left no survivor, —but did unto the king of Makkedah, as he had done unto the king of Jericho.
29 Oo Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu way dhaafeen Maqeedaah oo waxay tageen Libnaah, oo la dirireen reer Libnaah;
And Joshua passed over, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah unto Libnah, —and fought against Libnah;
30 oo Rabbigu iyada iyo boqorkeediiba wuxuu gacanta u geliyey reer binu Israa'iil, oo wuxuu seef ku laayay iyada iyo dadkii ku jiray oo dhan, oo waxba kama uu reebin, oo boqorkeediina wuxuu ku sameeyey sidii uu ku sameeyey boqorkii Yerixoo.
and Yahweh delivered, it also, into the hand of Israel, with the king thereof, and he smote it with the edge of the sword, with all the souls that were therein, he left therein no survivor, —but did unto the king thereof, as he had done unto the king of Jericho.
31 Oo Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu way dhaafeen Libnaah, oo waxay tageen Laakiish, kolkaasay degeen meel ka soo hor jeedda oo dagaal ku qaadeen;
And Joshua passed over, and all Israel with him, from Libnah unto Lachish, —and encamped against it, and fought against it;
32 oo Rabbigu wuxuu Laakiish geliyey gacantii reer binu Israa'iil, oo wuxuu iyana qabsaday maalintii labaad, oo dadkii ku jiray oo dhan wuxuu ku laayay seef, oo wuxuu u galay sidii uu Libnaah u galay oo kale.
and Yahweh delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, and he captured it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, with all the souls that were therein, —according to all that he had done unto Libnah.
33 Markaasaa Laakiish waxaa u soo hiiliyey boqorkii Geser oo ahaa Horaam, kolkaasaa Yashuuca laayay isagii iyo dadkiisiiba, ilaa uusan waxba ka reebin.
Then, came up Horam, king of Gezer, to help Lachish, —and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had not left him a survivor.
34 Markaasay Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu dhaafeen Laakiish oo waxay tageen Cegloon; kolkaasay degeen meel ka soo hor jeedda, oo dagaal ku qaadeen;
And Joshua passed over, and all Israel with him, from Lachish unto Eglon, —and they encamped against it, and fought against it;
35 oo maalintaasay iyana qabsadeen oo dadkii ku jiray oo dhan waxay ku laayeen seef, oo maalintaasuu wada baabbi'iyey, oo wuxuu ku sameeyey sidii uu ku sameeyey Laakiish oo kale.
and captured it on the same day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and, all the souls that were therein, on that day, devoted he to destruction, —according to all that he had done to Lachish.
36 Markaasaa Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu way dhaafeen Cegloon oo waxay tageen Xebroon, wayna la dirireen,
And Joshua went up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon unto Hebron, —and they fought against it;
37 oo iyana way qabsadeen, oo waxay ku wada laayeen seef dadkeedii iyo boqorkeedii iyo magaalooyinkeedii oo dhan iyo dadkii ku jiray oo dhanba; waxba kama reebin, sidii uu Cegloon ku sameeyey oo kale, laakiinse wuu wada baabbi'iyey iyadii iyo dadkii ku jiray oo dhanba.
and captured it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, with all the souls that were therein—he left not a survivor, according to all that he had done to Eglon, —he devoted it to destruction, and all the souls that were therein.
38 Markaasaa Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu waxay ku noqdeen Debiir, oo dagaal bay ku qaadeen.
Then Joshua turned back, and all Israel with him, unto Debir, —and fought against it;
39 Oo iyana wuu qabsaday, iyo boqorkeedii, iyo magaalooyinkeediiba, oo waxay ku laayeen seef, oo dadkii ku jiray oo dhanba way wada baabbi'iyeen oo waxba kama uu reebin; oo wuxuu Debiir iyo boqorkeediiba ku sameeyey siduu ku sameeyey Xebroon iyo weliba siduu markii hore ku sameeyey Libnaah iyo boqorkeediiba.
and captured it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and devoted to destruction every soul that was therein, he left not a survivor, —as he had done unto Hebron, so, did he unto Debir, and unto the king thereof, as also he had done unto Libnah, and unto her king.
40 Sidaasuu Yashuuca u wada laayay dadkii dalkii oo dhan, kaas oo ahaa waddankii buuraha ahaa, iyo xaggii Koonfureed, iyo dooxooyinkii, iyo dhaadhacyadii, iyo xataa boqorradoodii oo dhan, oo waxba kama uu reebin; laakiinse wuu wada baabbi'iyey intii neefsanaysay oo dhan, sidii uu Rabbiga ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil ku amray.
So Joshua smote all the land—the hill country, and the south, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings, he left not a survivor, —but, every breathing thing, devoted he to destruction, as Yahweh, God of Israel, had commanded.
41 Oo Yashuuca wuxuu laayay iyagii ilaa Qaadeesh Barneeca iyo tan iyo Gaasa, iyo dalkii reer Goshen oo dhan, iyo xataa tan iyo Gibecoon.
Yea Joshua smote them, from Kadesh-barnea, even as far as Gaza, —and all the land of Goshen, even as far as Gibeon.
42 Oo boqorradaas iyo dalkoodii oo dhan Yashuuca isku mar buu wada qabsaday, maxaa yeelay, Rabbiga ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil baa u diriray reer binu Israa'iil.
Yea, all these kings and their land, did Joshua capture at one time, —because, Yahweh, God of Israel, fought for Israel.
43 Markaasaa Yashuuca iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu waxay ku noqdeen xeradii ku tiil Gilgaal.
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp at Gilgal.
