< Yeremyaah 39 >
1 Sidqiyaah oo ahaa boqorkii dalka Yahuudah sannaddiisii sagaalaad, bisheedii tobnaad ayay Nebukadresar oo ahaa boqorkii Baabuloon iyo ciidankiisii oo dhammu Yeruusaalem ku keceen, wayna hareereeyeen,
After King Zedekiah had been ruling Judah for almost nine years, King Nebuchadnezzar came in January with his army, and they surrounded Jerusalem.
2 Boqor Sidqiyaah sannaddiisii kow iyo tobnaad, bisheedii afraad, maalinteedii sagaalaad ayaa meel magaalada ahayd la jebiyey,
One and a half years later, after Zedekiah had been ruling for almost eleven years, on July 18, [soldiers from Babylonia] broke through the city [wall. Then they rushed in and captured the city].
3 markaas Yeruusaalem waa la qabtay oo amiirradii boqorka Baabuloon oo dhammu intay galeen ayay iriddii dhexe fadhiisteen, oo waxay ahaayeen Neergal Shareser, iyo Samgar Nebuu, iyo Sarsekiim, iyo Rab Saariis, iyo Neergal Shareser, iyo Rab Maag iyo intii kale ee saraakiishii boqorka Baabuloon oo dhan.
Then all the officers of the king of Babylon came in and sat down at the Middle Gate [to decide what they would do to the city. They included] Nergal-Sharezer from Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim who was one of the chief army officers, another Nergal-Sharezer, the king’s advisor, and many other officials.
4 Oo Sidqiyaah oo ahaa boqorkii dalka Yahuudah iyo raggii dagaalka oo dhammuba markay iyagii arkeen ayay carareen, oo waxay goor habeennimo ah magaaladii kaga bexeen jidkii beerta boqorka ee u dhowaa iriddii labada derbi u dhaxaysay, oo isna wuxuu maray jidkii Caraabaah.
When King Zedekiah and all his soldiers realized that [the army of Babylonia had broken into the city], they fled. [They waited until] it was dark. Then they went out of the city through the king’s garden, through the gate that was between the two walls. Then they started [running] toward the Jordan River Valley.
5 Laakiinse ciidankii reer Kaldayiin ayaa iyagii eryaday, oo waxay Sidqiyaah ku gaadheen bannaannadii Yerixoo, oo markay qabsadeen ayay Nebukadresar oo ahaa boqorkii Baabuloon ugu geeyeen Riblaah oo ku tiil dalka Xamaad, wuuna xukumay.
But the soldiers from Babylonia pursued the king, and they caught him on the plains near Jericho. They took him to the King of Babylon, who was at Riblah [town] in the Hamath [region]. There the king of Babylon told [his soldiers what] they should do to punish Zedekiah.
6 Markaasaa boqorkii Baabuloon Sidqiyaah wiilashiisii Riblaah ku laayay aabbahood oo arkaya, oo weliba boqorkii Baabuloon wuxuu kaloo laayay kuwii gobta ahaa ee dalka Yahuudah oo dhan.
They forced Zedekiah to watch while they killed his sons and all the officials from Judah.
7 Oo weliba Sidqiyaahna indhihii buu ka riday, oo silsilado ku xidhxidhay si uu Baabuloon ugu kaxaysto.
[Then] they gouged out Zedekiah’s eyes. They fastened him with bronze chains and took him to Babylon.
8 Markaasay reer Kaldayiin dab ku gubeen gurigii boqorka iyo guryihii dadkaba, oo derbiyadii Yeruusaalemna way wada dumiyeen.
[Meanwhile, ] the Babylonian army burned the palace and all the other buildings in Jerusalem. And they tore down the city walls.
9 Markaasaa Nebuusaradaan oo ahaa sirkaalkii askarta wuxuu Baabuloon maxaabiis ahaan ugu kaxaystay dadkii magaalada ku hadhay, iyo kuwii cararay ee isaga u galay, iyo dadka intiisii kale ee hadhayba.
Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the [king’s] bodyguards, forced to go to Babylon [most of] the other people who remained in the city and the Jews who had joined the soldiers of Babylonia.
10 Laakiinse Nebuusaradaan oo sirkaalkii askarta ahaa wuxuu dalka Yahuudah kaga tegey dadkii waddanka ugu liitay oo aan waxba haysan, oo wuxuu isla markaasba iyagii siiyey beero canab ah, iyo beero kaleba.
But he allowed some of the very poor people to remain in Judah, and he gave them vineyards and fields [to take care of].
11 Haddaba Nebukadresar oo ahaa boqorkii Baabuloon wuxuu Nebuusaradaan oo ahaa sirkaalkii askarta siiyey amar ku saabsan Yeremyaah, oo wuxuu isagii ku yidhi,
King Nebuchadnezzar had [previously] told Nebuzaradan to find me. He said,
12 Isaga kaxee, oo si wanaagsan u ilaali, oo innaba waxba ha yeelin, laakiinse waxaad u samaysaa wax alla wixii uu ku yidhaahdo.
“Make sure that no one harms him. Take care of him, and do for him whatever he requests you to do.”
13 Sidaas daraaddeed Nebuusaradaan oo ahaa sirkaalkii askarta iyo Nebuushasbaan, iyo Rab Saariis, iyo Neergal Shareser, iyo Rab Maag, iyo saraakiishii sare oo boqorka Baabuloon oo dhammuba
So he and Nebushazban, who was one of their chief officers, and Nergal-Sharezer the king’s advisor, and other officers of the King of Babylon
14 waxay u soo cid direen Yeremyaah, oo intay barxaddii waardiyayaasha ka soo bixiyeen ayay u dhiibeen Gedalyaah ina Ahiiqaam oo ahaa ina Shaafaan inuu gurigiisa u kaxeeyo, markaasuu dadka dhexdiisa joogay.
sent [some men] to bring me out of the courtyard outside of the palace. They took me to Gedaliah who was the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. Then Gedaliah took me to my home, and I stayed [in Judah] among [my own] people [who had been allowed to remain there].
15 Haddaba eraygii Rabbigu wuxuu u yimid Yeremyaah intuu ku xidhnaa barxaddii waardiyayaasha, isagoo leh,
While I was [still] being guarded in the palace courtyard, Yahweh gave me this message:
16 Tag, oo Cebedmeleg kan reer Itoobiya la hadal, oo waxaad ku tidhaahdaa, Rabbiga ciidammada oo ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil wuxuu leeyahay, Bal ogow, erayadayda ayaan magaaladan ugu soo dejin doonaa inaan masiibo u keeno, ee mana ahaa wanaag, oo maalintaasay hortaada ku dhici doonaan.
“Say this to Ebed-Melech, the official from Ethiopia: ‘This is what the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom [we] Israelis [worship], says: “I will do to this city everything that I said that I would do. I will not enable the people to prosper; I will cause them to experience disasters. You will see Jerusalem being destroyed,
17 Laakiinse maalintaas waan ku samatabbixin doonaa, ayaa Rabbigu leeyahay, oo laguma gelin doono gacanta dadka aad ka baqaysid.
but I will rescue you from the people whom you are afraid of.
18 Waayo, hubaal waan ku badbaadin doonaa, oo innaba seef kuma aad dhiman doontid, laakiinse naftaadu waxay kuu ahaan doontaa sida booli oo kale, maxaa yeelay, waad isku kay hallaysay, ayaa Rabbigu leeyahay.
You trusted me, so I will save you. You will not be killed by [your enemies’] swords; you will remain alive. [That will surely happen because I], Yahweh, have said it.’”
