1 Dadka Israa'iilow, Rabbiga eraygiisa maqla, waayo, Rabbigu dacwad buu la leeyahay dadka dalka deggan, maxaa yeelay, dalka dhexdiisa laguma arko run, ama naxariis, ama aqoonta Ilaah toona.
Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land; for there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 Innaba wax kale laguma arko dhaarasho been ah, iyo axdijebin, iyo dilid, iyo xadid, iyo sino mooyaane. Way soo fara baxsadaan, oo dhiiggelid baa dhiiggelid ku xigsata.
Swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, — they break out; and blood toucheth blood.
3 Oo sidaas daraaddeed ayaa dalku u barooran doonaa, oo mid kastoo dhexdiisa degganuba waa macaluuli doonaa, oo xayawaanka duurka iyo haadda samada, iyo xataa kalluunka badduna way wada baabbi'i doonaan.
For this shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowl of the heavens, yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4 Laakiinse ninna yuusan murmin, oo ninna yuusan mid kale canaanan, waayo, dadkaagu waa sida kuwa wadaadka la murma.
Yet let no man strive, and let no man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
5 Oo adna maalinnimo waad turunturoon doontaa, oo habeennimona nebigu waa kula turunturoon doonaa, oo anna hooyadaa waan baabbi'in doonaa.
And thou shalt stumble by day; and the prophet also shall stumble with thee by night: and I will destroy thy mother.
6 Dadkaygu waxay u baabba'aan aqoondarro daraaddeed. Aqoonta aad diidday aawadeed ayaan adiga kuu diidi doonaa, oo innaba wadaad ii ahaan maysid, maxaa yeelay, waxaad illowday sharcigii Ilaahaaga, oo aniguna waxaan illoobi doonaa carruurtaada.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; for thou hast rejected knowledge, and I will reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.
7 Sidii ay u tarmeen si le'eg ayay igu dembaabeen, haddaba sharaftoodii ayaan ceeb u beddeli doonaa.
As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me: I will change their glory into shame.
8 Iyagu waxay quutaan dembigii dadkayga, wayna jeclaystaan xumaantoodii.
They eat the sin of my people, and their soul longeth for their iniquity.
9 Oo waxay ahaan doontaa in wadaadku noqdo sida dadka oo kale, oo jidadkooda waan ciqaabi doonaa, oo falimahoodana waan ka abaalmarin doonaa.
And it shall be as the people so the priest; and I will visit their ways upon them, and recompense to them their doings;
10 Wax bay cuni doonaan, kamana dhergi doonaan, way sinaysan doonaan, mana tarmi doonaan, maxaa yeelay, waxay ka tageen inay Rabbiga dhegaystaan.
and they shall eat, and not have enough; they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: for they have left off taking heed to Jehovah.
11 Sinada iyo khamriga iyo khamriga cusububa qalbigay la tagaan.
Fornication, and wine, and new wine take away the heart.
12 Dadkaygu waxay talo weyddiistaan waxooda qoriga ah, oo ushooduna wax bay u sheegtaa, waayo, damaca sinada ayaa iyaga qalday, oo Ilaahoodii way ka tageen sida naag ninkeeda ka dhillowda.
My people ask counsel of their stock, and their staff declareth unto them; for the spirit of whoredoms causeth [them] to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God:
13 Waxay allabari ku bixiyaan buuraha dhaladooda, oo foox bay ku shidaan kuraha korkooda iyo geedaha alloon iyo libneh iyo eelaah la yidhaahdo hoostooda, maxaa yeelay, waxay leeyihiin hoos wanaagsan, haddaba gabdhihiinnu way dhilloobaan oo aroosadihiinnuna way sinaystaan.
they sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oak and poplar and terebinth, because the shade thereof is good; therefore your daughters play the harlot and your daughters-in-law commit adultery.
14 Anigu ma aan ciqaabi doono gabdhihiinna markay dhilloobaan amase aroosadihiinna markay sinaystaan, waayo, ragga qudhooduba waxay raacaan dhillooyin, oo waxay allabari la bixiyaan sharmuutooyin, oo dadkii aan wax garanaynna waa la wada afgembiyi doonaa.
I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, nor your daughters-in-law for their committing adultery; for they themselves go aside with harlots, and they sacrifice with prostitutes: and the people that doth not understand shall come to ruin.
15 Dadka Israa'iilow, in kastoo aad dhillowdaan, yaan dadka Yahuudah isla dembigaas ku eedaysnaan, oo Gilgaal ha imanina, oo Beytaawen ha tegin, hana ku dhaaranina Rabbiga noloshiisa.
Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, let not Judah trespass; and come ye not unto Gilgal, neither go up to Beth-aven, nor swear [As] Jehovah liveth!
16 Dadka Israa'iil waxay u madax adkaadeen sidii qaalin lo'aad oo madax adag. Haddaba Rabbigu miyuu iyaga u daajinayaa sidii neef baraar ah oo berrin bannaan jooga?
For Israel is refractory as an untractable heifer; now will Jehovah feed them as a lamb in a wide [pasture].
17 Reer Efrayim wuxuu raacay sanamyo, haddaba iska daa.
— Ephraim is joined to idols: leave him alone.
18 Cabniinkoodii waa dhanaanaaday. Had iyo goorba way sinaystaan. Taliyayaashooduna aad bay ceebta u jecel, yihiin.
Their drink is sour; they give themselves up to whoredom; her great men passionately love [their] shame.
19 Dabayshu waxay iyaga ku soo duudduubtay baallaheedii, oo iyana allabaryadooda ayay u ceeboobi doonaan.
The wind hath wrapped her up in its wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
