Xaggay 1
1 Boqor Daariyus sannaddiisii labaad, bisheedii lixaad, maalinteedii kowaad ayaa eraygii Rabbigu u yimid Nebi Xaggay, oo waxaa loogu soo dhiibay Serubaabel ina Salaatii'eel oo ahaa taliyihii dalka Yahuudah, iyo Yashuuca ina Yehoosaadaaq oo ahaa wadaadka sare, oo wuxuu ku yidhi,
In the second year of king Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord through means of Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, the governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
2 Rabbiga ciidammadu sidanuu u hadlaa oo wuxuu leeyahay, Dadkanu waxay yidhaahdaan, Wakhtigii weli lama gaadhin, wakhtigii guriga Rabbiga la dhisi lahaa weli lama gaadhin.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, saying, This people have said, The time is not yet come, the time for the Lord's house to be built.
3 Markaasaa eraygii Rabbigu u yimid Nebi Xaggay oo wuxuu yidhi,
And the word of the Lord came by means of Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Ma idiin tahay wakhti aad ku hoyataan guryihiinna saqafka loo yeelay, iyadoo guriganu uu dunsan yahay?
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled houses, while this house lieth in ruins?
5 Haddaba Rabbiga ciidammadu wuxuu leeyahay, Jidadkiinna ka fiirsada.
Now therefore, thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Direct your heart unto your ways.
6 Wax badan baad beerateen, laakiinse in yar baad soo gurateen, wax baad cuntaan, laakiinse innaba kama dheregtaan, wax baad cabtaan, laakiinse innaba kama wabaxdaan, dhar baad xidhataan, laakiinse innaba ma diirsataan, oo kii mushahaaro soo qaataana wuxuu mushahaarada u soo qaata inuu kiish daloolan ku rito.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but it doth not satisfy hunger; ye drink, but it doth not appease thirst; ye clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he that earneth something earneth it for a bag with holes.
7 Haddaba Rabbiga ciidammadu wuxuu leeyahay, Jidadkiinna ka fiirsada.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Direct your heart to your ways.
8 Rabbigu wuxuu leeyahay, Buurta fuula, oo alwaax ka keena, oo guriga dhisa, oo anna waan ku farxi doonaa, oo kolkaasaan ammaanmi doonaa.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house: that I may take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith the Lord.
9 Rabbiga ciidammadu wuxuu leeyahay, Waxaad filanayseen wax badan, laakiinse waxay noqdeen in yar, oo markaad intaas gurigii keenteenna anigu waan afuufay. Waa maxay sababtu? Maxaa yeelay, gurigaygii baa dunsan oo idinkana midkiin kastaaba wuxuu u ordaa gurigiisa.
[Till now] ye looked for much, and lo, it came to be little; and when ye brought it home, I blew upon it. For what cause? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lieth in ruins, while ye run every man unto his own house.
10 Haddaba idinka daraaddiin ayaa samadii u diidday sayaxeedii oo dhulkiina wuu diiday midhihiisii.
Therefore do the heavens for your sake withhold the dew, and the earth withholdeth her products.
11 Oo anigu abaar baan u yeedhay, oo waxaan ku soo dejiyey dhulka, iyo buuraha, iyo hadhuudhka, iyo khamriga, iyo saliidda, iyo waxaa dhulka ka soo baxa, iyo dadka, iyo duunyada, iyo hawsha gacmaha oo dhan.
And I called for a drought over the land, and over the mountains, and over the corn, and over the new wine, and over the oil, and over what the ground bringeth forth, and over men, and over cattle, and over all the labor of the hands.
12 Markaasaa Serubaabel ina Salaatii'eel, iyo wadaadkii sare oo ahaa Yashuuca ina Yehoosaadaaq, iyo dadka intiisii hadhay oo dhammu waxay addeeceen codkii Rabbiga Ilaahooda ah, iyo erayadii Nebi Xaggay, waayo, Rabbiga Ilaahooda ah ayaa isaga soo diray, oo dadkiina Rabbiga hortiisa ayaa cabsi ku gashay.
Then hearkened Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of the Lord their God, and to the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people were afraid of the Lord.
13 Markaasaa Xaggay oo ahaa wargeeyihii Rabbiga dadkii u sheegay farriintii Rabbiga, oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Rabbigu wuxuu leeyahay, Anigu waan idinla joogaa.
Then said Haggai the messenger of the Lord by the Lord's message unto the people saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.
14 Kolkaasaa Rabbigu kiciyey ruuxii Serubaabel ina Salaatii'eel oo ahaa taliyihii dalka Yahuudah, iyo ruuxii Yashuuca ina Yehoosaadaaq oo ahaa wadaadka sare, iyo ruuxii dadka intiisa hadhay oo dhanba, oo intay yimaadeen ayay ka shaqeeyeen gurigii Rabbiga ciidammada oo Ilaahooda ah,
And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, the governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they came and did work on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God.
15 oo taasuna waxay dhacday Boqor Daariyus sannaddiisii labaad, bishii lixaad, maalinteedii afar iyo labaatanaad.
On the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of king Darius.
