Bilowgii 31

1 Wuxuu maqlay hadalkii Laabaan wiilashiisii, iyagoo leh, Yacquub baa wixii aabbeheen oo dhan wada qaatay, oo xoolahan oo dhan wuxuu ku helay wixii aabbeheen.

Then heard he the words of the sons of Laban, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that belonged to our father; Yea out of what belonged to our father, hath he made all this wealth.

2 Yacquubna wuxuu fiiriyey wejigii Laabaan, oo wuxuu arkay inuusan sidii hore u ahayn.

And Jacob looked upon the face of Laban, —and lo! it was not with him as afore-time.

3 Rabbiguna wuxuu Yacquub ku yidhi, Ku noqo dalkii aabbahaa iyo xigaalkaaga, oo anna waan kula jiri doonaa.

Then said Yahweh unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers and to thy kindred, —that I may be with thee.

4 Yacquubna wuxuu u cid diray oo u yeedhay Raaxeel iyo Lee'ah inay yimaadaan berrinkii adhigiisu joogay,

So Jacob sent, and called for Rachel and for Leah, to the field unto his flock;

5 oo wuxuu iyagii ku yidhi, Waxaan arkay wejigii aabbihiin inuusan sidii hore ii ahayn, laakiinse Ilaaha aabbahay baa ila jiray.

and said to them, Beholding, am I the face of your father, that it is not towards me as aforetime, —nevertheless, the God of my father, hath been with me;

6 Idinkuna waad og tihiin inaan aabbihiin xooggayga oo dhan ugu adeegay.

and, ye, know that with all my vigour, have I served your father.

7 Laakiin aabbihiin wuu i khiyaaneeyey, oo toban goor buu mushahaaradaydii beddelay; Ilaahse uma oggolaan inuu wax i yeelo.

But, your father, hath deceived me, and hath changed my wages ten times, —yet God hath not suffered him to deal harmfully with me.

8 Hadduu yidhi, Kuwa dhibicyada lahu waxay noqon doonaan mushahaaradaada, adhiga oo dhammu wax dhibicyo leh bay dhaleen; hadduu yidhina, Kuwa xariijimaha lahu waxay noqon doonaan mushahaaradaada, adhiga oo dhammu wax xariijimo leh bay dhaleen.

If thus he saith, The speckled, shall be thy wages, then do all the flock bring forth speckled, —But if thus he saith, The ring-straked, shall be thy wages, then do all the flock bring forth ring-straked.

9 Sidaasaa Ilaah aabbihiin xoolihiisii uga qaaday, oo uu aniga ii siiyey.

So hath God stripped away the herds of your father, and given them to me.

10 Wakhtigii adhigii rimay ayaan indhahayga kor u taagay, oo aan riyo ku arkay orgidii adhiga ku boodday inay wada lahaayeen xariijimo, iyo dhibicyo iyo barbaro.

And it came to pass in the season when the flock were in heat, then lifted I mine eyes and beheld in a dream, —and lo! the he-goats that were leaping upon the flock, were ring-straked speckled and dappled.

11 Malaa'igtii Ilaahna waxay igu tidhi intaan riyoonayay, Yacquubow. Oo anna waxaan idhi, Waa i kan.

And the messenger of God said unto me in a dream, Jacob! and I said, Behold me!

12 Oo waxay tidhi, Haatan indhahaaga kor u taag, oo arag, orgida adhiga ku boodda oo dhammu waxay wada leeyihiin xariijimo iyo dhibicyo iyo barbaro, maxaa yeelay, waxaan wada arkay waxa Laabaan kugu sameeyo oo dhan.

Then he said Lift, I pray thee, thine eyes and behold All, the he-goats that are leaping upon the flock are ring-straked, speckled, and dappled, —for I have seen all that Laban, has been doing to thee.

13 Waxaan ahay Ilaaha Beytel, meeshii aad tiirka ku subagtay, oo aad nidarka iigu nidartay. Haddaba kac, oo dalkan ka bax, oo ku noqo dalkii aad ku dhalatay.

I, am the GOD of Beth-el, where thou didst anoint a pillar, where thou didst vow to me a vow, —Now, rise, go forth out of this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

14 Markaasay Raaxeel iyo Lee'ah u jawaabeen isagii oo ku yidhaahdeen, Weli ma qayb baa guriga aabbahayo noogu hadhay amase dhaxal?

Then responded Rachel and Leah, and said to him, —Have we any longer a portion or an inheritance in the house of our father?

15 Miyaannan xaggiisa ka xisaabnayn shisheeye? Waayo, wuu na iibiyey, oo weliba lacagtayadiina wuu cunay.

Are we not accounted, aliens, to him seeing that having sold us, he hath then gone on devouring, our silver?

16 Waayo, kulli maalkii Ilaah ka qaaday aabbahayo waxaa leh annaga iyo carruurtayada; haddaba yeel wixii Ilaah kugu yidhi.

Surely all the riches which God hath stripped off from our father, unto us, it belongeth, and unto our sons, —Now, therefore, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.

17 Markaasuu Yacquub kacay, carruurtiisii iyo naagihiisiina wuxuu fuushiiyey awrtii;

So Jacob arose, —and mounted his sons and his wives on the camels;

18 wuuna la tegey xoolihiisii oo dhan, iyo alaabadii uu urursaday, kuwaas oo ahaa xoolihii uu helay, oo uu ku ururiyey Fadan Araam, inuu tago xaggii aabbihiis Isxaaq iyo ilaa dalkii Kancaan.

and drave away all his herds and all his goods which he had gathered, the gains he had gained, which he had gathered in Padan-aram; that he might go in unto Isaac his father unto the land of Canaan.

19 Laabaanna wuxuu ku maqnaa inuu idihiisa dhogorta ka soo xiirto; kolkaasay Raaxeel xadday sanamyadii aabbeheed lahaa.

Now, Laban, had gone, to shear his sheep, —so Rachel stole the household gods that belonged to her father,

20 Markaasaa Yacquub si qarsoon uga tegey Laabaankii reer Suuriya oo aan ogayn, umana uu sheegin inuu cararayo.

Thus Jacob stole away unawares to Laban, the Syrian, —in that he had not told him that he was about to flee.

21 Oo sidaasuu ula cararay wixii uu haystay oo dhan, oo intuu kacay, ayuu webigii ka gudbay, oo wejigiisii ku toosiyey buurtii Gilecaad.

So he fled, he—and all that he had, and he arose, and passed over the River, —and set his face towards the mountain of Gilead.

22 Maalintii saddexaad baa Laabaan loo sheegay in Yacquub cararay.

And it was told Laban, on the third day, —that Jacob had fled.

23 Markaasuu walaalihiis kaxaystay, oo wuxuu raacdaynayay toddoba maalinsocod, wuxuuna ku gaadhay buurtii Gilecaad.

So he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him a journey of seven days—and overtook him in the mountain of Gilead.

24 Markaasaa Ilaah riyo habeennimo ugu yimid Laabaankii reer Suuriya, oo ku yidhi, Iska jir oo Yacquub xumaan iyo wanaag toona ha kula hadlin.

And God went in unto Laban the Syrian in a dream of the night, —and said to him Take heed to thyself that thou speak not with Jacob either good or bad.

25 Laabaanna wuu soo gaadhay Yacquub. Haddaba Yacquub teendhadiisii wuxuu ka dhistay buurta; Laabaanna walaalihiis buu kala dhistay buurtii Gilecaad.

So then Laban came up with Jacob, —Jacob, having pitched his tent in the mountain, Laban, also, with his brethren pitched in the mountain of Gilead.

26 Laabaanna wuxuu Yacquub ku yidhi, Waa maxay waxan aad samaysay, oo maxaad si qarsoon iiga soo tagtay anoo aan ogayn, oo aad gabdhahayga ula soo carartay sidii iyagoo ah maxaabiis seef lagu soo dhacay?

Then said Laban to Jacob, What hadst thou done, that thou shouldst steal away unawares to me, —and shouldst carry off my daughters, as captives of the sword?

27 Maxaad qarsoodiga ugu soo carartay, oo aad si qarsoon iiga soo tagtay? Oo maxaad iigu sheegi weyday, si aan kuugu soo ambabbixiyo rayrayn iyo gabayo iyo daf iyo kataarad?

Wherefore didst thou secretly flee, and rob me, —and didst not tell me, that I might send thee away with rejoicing and with songs, with timbrel and with lyre;

28 Oo maxaad iigu oggolaan weyday inaan dhunkado wiilashayda iyo gabdhahayga? De taas nacasnimaad u yeeshay.

and didst not suffer me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Now, hast thou done, foolishly.

29 De xoog aan wax kugu yeelo waan leeyahay, laakiinse Ilaaha aabbahaa baa xalay ila hadlay, oo wuxuu igu yidhi, Iska jir oo Yacquub ha kula hadlin xumaan iyo wanaag toona.

It is in the power of my hand, to deal with thee for harm, —but the God of your father, last night, spake unto me, saying, Take heed to thyself that thou speak not with Jacob, either good or bad.

30 Oo haatan waad tagtay, maxaa yeelay, aad baad ugu hilowday gurigii aabbahaa, laakiinse maxaad ilaahyadayda iiga soo xadday?

But, now, though thou, didst even take thy journey, because thou, didst sorely long, for the house of thy father, wherefore didst thou steal away my gods?

31 Yacquubna waa u jawaabay oo wuxuu Laabaan ku yidhi, Maxaa yeelay, waan cabsaday; waayo, waxaan is-idhi, Wuu kaa xoogi doonaa gabdhihiisa.

And Jacob answered and said unto Laban, —Because I was afraid, for I said, Lest thou take by force thy daughters from me!

32 Qofkii aad ilaahyadaadii ka hesho waa inuusan noolaan. Walaalahayo hortooda ku fiiri wixii aan kaa haysto, oo iska qaado. Waayo, Yacquub ma uu ogayn inay Raaxeel soo xadday.

He with whom thou find thy gods, shall not live! Before our brethren, note thou for thyself what is with me and take what is thine. Neither did Jacob know that, Rachel, had stolen them.

33 Laabaanna wuxuu galay teendhadii Yacquub, iyo teendhadii Lee'ah, iyo teendhadii labada addoommood, laakiinse ma uu helin. Oo intuu ka baxay teendhadii Lee'ah ayuu galay teendhadii Raaxeel.

Then entered Laban into the tent of Jacob and into the tent of Leah and into the tent of the two handmaids, and found nothing, —then went he forth out of the tent of Leah, and entered into the tent of Rachel.

34 Raaxeelna way qaadday sanamyadii, oo waxay gelisay heeryadii awrta, wayna ku fadhiisatay. Laabaanna wuu ka wada baadhay teendhadii oo dhan, mana uu helin.

Now Rachel, had taken the household gods and put them in the basket-saddle of the camel, and taken her seat upon them. And Laban felt about throughout all the tent, and found them not.

35 Oo waxay aabbeheed ku tidhi, Sayidkaygiiyow, ha u cadhoon inaanan istaagi karin, waayo, caadadii dumarku heli jiray baan qabaa. Isna wuu baadhay, laakiinse sanamyadii ma uu helin.

And she said unto her father, Let it not be vexing in the eyes of my lord that I cannot rise up at thy presence, for, the way of women, is upon me. So he made search, but found not the household gods,

36 Yacquubna wuu cadhooday, oo Laabaan wuu la murmay; Yacquubna wuu u jawaabay oo wuxuu Laabaan ku yidhi, Waa maxay xadgudubkaygu? Waa maxay dembigayga aad aawadiis aad iigu soo raacdaysatay?

And it was vexing to Jacob and he contended with Laban, —and Jacob responded and said to Laban, What was my trespass, what my sin, that thou shouldst have come burning after me?

37 Waxaad baadhay alaabtayda oo dhan, ee maxaad ka heshay oo ah alaabtii gurigaaga? Halkan soo hor dhig walaalahayga iyo walaalahaaga, inay labadeenna inoo kala gar naqaan.

Now that thou hast felt about among all my goods, what hast thou found of the goods of thine own house? Set it out here, right before my brethren and thy brethren, —that they may give sentence betwixt us two.

38 Labaatan sannadood baan kula joogay; laxahaaga iyo riyahaaguna dhicis ma dhalin, wananka idahaagiina ma aan cunin.

This twenty years’ time, have, I, been with thee—Thy ewes and thy she-goats, have not cast their young, —And the rams of thy flock, have I not eaten,

39 Kuwii dugaagu ka cunayna kuuma aan keenin; laakiinse anaa kuu magdhabay, anaad i weyddiisan jirtay, ha ahaadeen wixii maalin lagaa xado ama wixii habeen lagaa xado ee.

The torn, have I not brought in unto thee—I bare the loss, At my hand, didst thou require it, —Stolen by day, or stolen by night.

40 Maalintii kulayl baa i dili jiray, habeenkiina dhaxan; hurdadiina waa iga tagtay. Oo sidaasaan ahaan jiray.

Thus have I been—By day, drought hath consumed me, And, frost, by, night, —So that my sleep fled away from mine eyes.

41 Labaatan sannadood baan gurigaaga joogay; afar iyo toban sannadood waxaan kuugu shaqeeyey labadaada gabdhood aawadood, lix sannadoodna adhigaaga aawadiis. Mushahaaradaydiina waxaad beddeshay toban goor.

This, hath been my lot twenty years in thy house, —I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, And six years for thy sheep—And thou didst change my wages ten times: —

42 Ilaaha aabbahay, oo ah Ilaaha Ibraahim, iyo kan Isxaaq ka cabsado, haddii uusan ila jirin, hubaal haatan waxaad i diri lahayd anoo faro madhan. Ilaah wuxuu arkay dhibaatadaydii iyo hawshii gacmahayga, kolkaasuu xalay ku canaantay.

But that the God of my father—The God of Abraham, and the Dread of Isaac—Proved to be mine, Surely even now, empty, hadst thou let me go? My humiliation and the wearying toil of my hands, God had seen, And therefore gave sentence last night!

43 Laabaanna wuu u jawaabay oo wuxuu Yacquub ku yidhi, Gabdhuhu waa gabdhahayga, carruurtuna waa carruurtayda, adhiguna waa adhigayga, oo waxa aad aragto oo dhammuna waa waxayga, haddaba maxaan maanta ku samayn karaa gabdhahaygan, ama carruurtooda ay dhaleen?

Then responded Laban and said unto Jacob—the daughters, are my daughters, And the sons, are my sons, And the sheep are my sheep, And, all that, thou, beholdest, To me doth it belong! But to my daughters, what can I do to these this day, Or to their sons whom they have borne?

44 Haddaba kaalay, aan aniga iyo adigu axdi dhigannee, hana noqdo markhaati ina dhex yaal aniga iyo adiga.

Now, therefore, come on! Let us solemnise a covenant, I and thou, —So shall it be a witness betwixt me and thee.

45 Markaasaa Yacquub dhagax soo qaaday, oo sidii tiir u qotomiyey.

So Jacob took a stone, —and set it up as a pillar.

46 Yacquubna wuxuu walaalihiis ku yidhi, Dhagaxyo soo ururiya; kolkaasay dhagaxyo soo gureen, oo meel taalleeyeen; kolkaasay taallada agteedii wax ku cuneen.

Then said Jacob to his brethren—Gather stones. And they took stones and made a heap, —and they did eat there, by the heap.

47 Laabaanna wuxuu meeshaas u bixiyey Yegar Sahaduta; Yacquubse wuxuu u bixiyey Galceed.

And Laban called it, Jegar-sahadutha, —but, Jacob, called it, Galeed.

48 Laabaanna wuxuu yidhi, Maanta taalladanu waa markhaati ina dhex yaal aniga iyo adiga. Sidaas daraaddeed waxaa magaceedii loo bixiyey Galceed, iyo Misfaah,

Then said Laban: This heap, be witness betwixt me, and thee, to-day. For this cause, is the name thereof called Galeed;

49 waayo, wuxuu yidhi, Rabbigu ha dhawro aniga iyo adiga dhexdeenna markaynu kala maqan nahay.

also, The Watch Tower, as to which it is said, Yahweh watch betwixt me and thee, when we are parted one from another.

50 Haddaad gabdhahayga dhibtid, ama aad naago kale gabdhahayga la guursatid, ninna inalama joogo, balse ogow, Ilaah baa markhaati dhexdeenna ka ah aniga iyo adiga.

If thou oppress my daughters, or if thou take wives besides my daughters, —there may be no man with us—see! God, be witness betwixt me, and thee!

51 Laabaanna wuxuu Yacquub ku yidhi, Bal eeg taalladan, oo bal fiiri tiirka aan ina dhex dhigay aniga iyo adiga.

And Laban said to Jacob—Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have set betwixt me, and thee:

52 Taalladanu markaati ha ka noqoto, tiirkuna markhaati ha ka noqdo, inaanan taalladan kuugu soo dhaafayn inaan wax ku yeelo, adna aadan taalladan iyo tiirkan iigu soo dhaafayn inaad wax i yeeshid.

A witness, be this heap, and, a witness, the pillar, —That, I, am not to pass, unto thee, over this heap, And, thou, art not to pass, unto me, over this heap and this pillar for harm.

53 Kan ah Ilaaha Ibraahim, iyo Ilaaha Naaxoor, iyo Ilaaha aabbahood, ha ina kala xukumo innaga. Yacquubna wuxuu ku dhaartay Kan aabbihiis Isxaaq ka cabsado.

The Gods of Abraham and the Gods of Nahor judge betwixt us—the Gods of their fathers. And Jacob sware by the Dread of his father Isaac:

54 Yacquubna allabari buu buurtii ku bixiyey, walaalihiisna wuxuu ugu yeedhay inay wax cunaan; cuntadiina way cuneen, habeenkii oo dhanna buurtay joogeen.

and Jacob offered sacrifice in the mountain, and called on his brethren to eat bread. So they did eat bread, and tarried the night in the mountain.

55 Laabaanna aroor hore ayuu kacay, wiilashiisii iyo gabdhihiisiina wuu dhunkaday, wuuna u duceeyey; markaasuu Laabaan tegey, oo ku noqday meeshiisii.

And Laban rose up early in the morning, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban went his way and returned to his place.
