< Wacdiyahii 7 >
1 Magac wanaagsanu waa ka sii fiican yahay saliid qaali ah, oo maalinta dhimashaduna waa ka fiican tahay maalinta dhalashada.
A good name is better than costly perfume, and the day of death is better than the day of birth.
2 In guriga diyaafadda la tago waxaa ka wanaagsan in guriga baroorashada la tago, waayo, taasaa dadka oo dhan u dambaysa, oo kuwa nooluna qalbigay taas gashan doonaan.
It is better to go to a house of mourning than to a house of feasting, for mourning comes to all people at the end of life, so living people must take this to heart.
3 Qosol waxaa ka wanaagsan murug, waayo, qalbigu wuxuu ku wanaagsanaadaa wejiga caloolxumadiisa.
Grief is better than laughter, for after sadness of face comes gladness of heart.
4 Qalbiga kuwa xigmadda lahu wuxuu ku jiraa guriga baroorashada, laakiinse qalbiga nacasyadu wuxuu ku jiraa guriga farxadda.
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of feasting.
5 Nin intuu nacasyada gabaygooda maqli lahaa waxaa ka wanaagsan inuu canaanta kuwa xigmadda leh maqlo.
It is better to listen to the rebuke of the wise than to listen to the song of fools.
6 Waayo, qosolka nacasku waa sida qodxo dheri hoostiis ka jacjac leh, oo taasuna waa wax aan waxba tarayn.
For like the crackling of thorns burning under a pot, so also is the laughter of fools. This, too, is vapor.
7 Hubaal dulmigu nin xigmad leh wuu waalaa, oo laaluushkuna qalbiguu ka kharribaa.
Extortion certainly makes a wise man foolish, and a bribe corrupts the heart.
8 Wax bilowgiisa waxaa ka wanaagsan dhammaadkiisa, oo kii dulqaadasho badanuna waa ka wanaagsan yahay kii kibir badan.
Better is the end of a matter than the beginning; and the people patient in spirit are better than the proud in spirit.
9 Xanaaq ha ku degdegin, waayo, xanaaqu wuxuu ku jiraa laabta nacasyada.
Do not be quick to anger in your spirit, for anger resides in the hearts of fools.
10 Ha odhan, Waayihii hore bal maxay kuwan uga fiicnaayeen? Waayo, xaalkan si caqliya u weyddiin maysid.
Do not say, “Why were the days of old better than these?” For it is not because of wisdom that you ask this question.
11 Xigmaddu sida dhaxal oo kale ayay u wanaagsan tahay, oo waa u faa'iido kuwa qorraxda arka.
Wisdom, like an inheritance, is good. It benefits those who see the sun.
12 Waayo, xigmaddu waxay wax u daafacdaa sida lacagtu wax u daafacdo oo kale, laakiinse aqoonta faa'iidadeedu waa in xigmaddu ay nabadgeliso kuwa iyada haysta.
For wisdom provides protection as money can provide protection, but the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to whoever has it.
13 Bal Ilaah shuqulkiisa ka fiirso, waayo, wixii uu isagu qalloociyey bal yaa toosin kara?
Consider the deeds of God: Who can straighten out anything he has made crooked?
14 Maalintii aad barwaaqaysan tahay aad u faraxsanow, oo maalintii aad dhibaataysan tahayna aad u fiirso in Ilaah mid u sameeyey sida kan kale si uusan ninna u ogaan karin waxa isaga dabadiis jiri doona.
When times are good, live happily in that good, but when times are bad, consider this: God has allowed both to exist side by side. For this reason, no one will find out anything that is coming after him.
15 Waxaa jira nin xaq ah oo xaqnimadiisa ku halligma iyo nin shar ah oo sharnimadiisa ku cimri dheeraada; labadaba wakhtigii aan waxtarka lahayn ee aan noolaa ayaan arkay.
I have seen many things in my meaningless days. There are righteous people who perish in spite of their righteousness, and there are wicked people who live a long life in spite of their evil.
16 Aad xaq ha u noqon oo hana iska dhigin mid aad xigmad u leh, waayo, bal maxaad isu baabbi'inaysaa?
Do not be self-righteous, wise in your own eyes. Why should you destroy yourself?
17 Aad sharrow ha u noqon, oo nacasna ha noqon, waayo, bal maxaad wedkaaga ka hor u dhimanaysaa?
Do not be too wicked or foolish. Why should you die before your time?
18 Waxaa kuu wanaagsan inaad tan xagsatid, oo aadan gacantaadana dib uga ceshan, waayo, kii Ilaah ka cabsada waxan oo dhan ayuu ka soo bixi doonaa.
It is good that you should take hold of this wisdom, and that you should not let go of righteousness. For the person who fears God will meet all his obligations.
19 Xigmaddu kan xigmadda leh way uga xoog badan tahay toban taliye oo magaalada jooga.
Wisdom is powerful in the wise man, more than ten rulers in a city.
20 Waayo, dhulka laguma arag nin xaq ah oo wanaag fala, oo aan dembaabin.
There is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.
21 Wax kasta oo lagu hadlo ha dhegaysan, waaba intaasoo aad maqashaa addoonkaaga oo ku habaarayee.
Do not listen to every word that is spoken, because you might hear your servant curse you.
22 Waayo, marar badan ayaa qalbigaagu og yahay inaad adba saasoo kale u habaartid kuwo kale.
Similarly, you know yourself that in your own heart you have often cursed others.
23 Waxyaalahan oo dhan xigmad baan ku tijaabiyey. Waxaan is-idhi, Xigmad baan yeelan doonaa, laakiinse xigmaddii way iga fogayd.
All this have I proven by wisdom. I said, “I will be wise,” but it was more than I could be.
24 Waayo, bal yaa gaadhi kara wixii aad u fog ee mool dheer?
Wisdom is far off and very deep. Who can find it?
25 Waxaan qalbigayga oo dhan u diyaariyey oo u soo jeediyey inaan ogaado, oo baadho, oo aan doondoono xigmad iyo wax kasta sababtiisa, iyo inaan ogaado in sharnimadu tahay nacasnimo, iyo in doqonnimadu tahay waalli.
I turned my heart to learn and examine and seek wisdom and the explanations of reality, and to understand that evil is stupid and that folly is madness.
26 Oo waxaan soo ogaaday wax xataa dhimashada ka sii qadhaadh, waana naag qalbigeedu yahay dabinno iyo shabagyo, oo ay gacmeheeduna yihiin jeebbooyin. Ku alla kii Ilaah ka farxiyo iyaduu ka baxsan doonaa, laakiinse dembilaha way qabsan doontaa.
I found that more bitter than death is any woman whose heart is full of snares and nets, and whose hands are chains. Whoever pleases God will escape from her, but the sinner will be taken by her.
27 Wacdiyuhu wuxuu leeyahay, Bal eega, si aan sababta u garto ayaan midba mid ku daray oo waxaasaan soo helay.
“Consider what I have discovered,” says the Teacher. “I have been adding one discovery to another in order to find an explanation of reality.
28 Oo weliba waan sii doondoonayaa, laakiinse ma aan helo. Kun nin dhexdood ayaan nin qudha ka helay, laakiinse kuwaas oo dhan xataa naag qudha kama helin.
This is what I am still looking for, but I have not found it. I did find one righteous man among a thousand, but a woman among all those I did not find.
29 Bal eeg, waxan keliya oo aan soo ogaaday in Ilaah binu-aadmiga sameeyey iyagoo qumman, laakiinse waxay doondooneen hindisooyin badan.
I have discovered only this: That God created humanity upright, but they have gone away looking for many difficulties.”
