Sharciga Kunoqoshadiisa 1

1 Kuwanu waa erayadii Muuse kula hadlay reer binu Israa'iil markay joogeen Webi Urdun shishadiisa cidlada dhexdeeda, oo ah Caraabaah oo ka soo hor jeedda Suuf, meel u dhexaysa Faaraan, iyo Tofel, iyo Laabaan, iyo Xaseerood, iyo Diisaahaab.

These, are the words, which Moses spake unto all Israel, over the Jordan, —in the wilderness in the waste plain over against Suph, between Paran and Tophel, and Laban and Hazeroth and Di-zahab:

2 Oo koob iyo toban maalmood ayaa looga socdaa Xoreeb xagga Buur Seciir ilaa tan iyo Qaadeesh Barneeca.

eleven days from Horeb, by way of Mount Seir, as far as Kadesh-barnea.

3 Oo sannaddii afartanaad bisheedii koob iyo tobnaad, maalinteedii kowaad ayaa Muuse reer binu Israa'iil kula hadlay kulli amarradii Rabbigu ugu soo dhiibay oo dhan.

And it came to pass, in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first of the month, that Moses spake unto the sons of Israel, according to all that Yahweh had given him in charge for them;

4 Taasuna waa ka dambaysay diliddii uu dilay Siixon oo ahaa boqorkii reer Amor oo degganaa Xeshboon, iyo Coog oo ahaa boqorkii reer Baashaan oo degganaa Cashtarod ee Edrecii ku taal.

after he had smitten Sihon, king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, —and Og, king of Bashan, who dwelt in Ashtaroth, in Edrei:

5 Oo meeshaas ee Webi Urdun ka shishaysa oo ku taal dalka reer Moo'aab ayaa Muuse ka bilaabay inuu caddeeyo sharcigan, oo wuxuu yidhi,

over the Jordan, in the land of Moab, did Moses take in hand to expound this law, saying: —

6 Rabbiga Ilaaheenna ahu wuxuu inala hadlay intaan Xoreeb joognay oo wuxuu inagu yidhi, Buurtan in idinku filan waad degganaydeen,

Yahweh our God, spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Long enough, have ye dwelt in this mountain:

7 haddaba noqda oo guura oo waxaad tagtaan dalka buuraha leh oo reer Amor, iyo meelaha halkaas u dhow oo dhan oo ah Caraabaah, iyo dalka buuraha leh, iyo dooxooyinka, iyo xagga koonfureed, iyo badda xeebteeda, kuwaasoo ah dalka reer Kancaan, iyo Lubnaan, iyo tan iyo webiga weyn oo Yufraad.

Turn ye and set yourselves forward, and enter into the hill country of the Amorites, and into all the places near, in the plain, in the mountain, and in the lowland, and in the south, and in the coast of the sea, —the land of Canaan and the Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.

8 Bal eega, dalka waan idin hor dhigay, haddaba gala oo hantiya dalkii Rabbigu ugu dhaartay awowayaashiin oo ahaa Ibraahim iyo Isxaaq iyo Yacquub inuu siinayo iyaga iyo farcankooda ka dambeeyaba

See! I have set before you the land, —enter and possess the land, which, Yahweh sware unto your fathers to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give unto them, and unto their seed, after them.

9 Oo anna markaas waan idinla hadlay oo waxaan idhi, Anigu idinma aan qaadi karo keli ahaantay.

So I spake unto you, at that time saying, I am unable, by myself, to carry you.

10 Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ahu wuu idin tarmiyey, oo bal eega, maanta waxaad u faro badan tihiin sida xiddigaha samada oo kale.

Yahweh your God hath multiplied you, and here ye are to-day, like the stars of the heavens for multitude.

11 Oo weliba Rabbiga ah Ilaaha awowayaashiin ha idinka dhigo kun jeer in ka sii badan intaad haatan tihiin, oo ha idiin barakeeyo siduu idin ballanqaaday!

Yahweh, the God of your fathers, be adding unto you the like of you, a thousand times, —and bless you, as he hath spoken unto you!

12 Oo bal anigoo keligay ah sidee baan u qaadi karaa culayskiinna iyo rarkiinna iyo rabshaddiinna?

How should I carry by myself the fatigue of you and the burden of you and your controversies?

13 Haddaba siday qabiilooyinkiinnu yihiin waxaad kala soo baxdaan rag xigmad leh oo waxgarad ah oo caan ah, oo anna waxaan iyaga ka dhigayaa madax idiin talisa.

Set forth for you—men wise and discerning, and known to your tribes, —that I may appoint them to be heads over you.

14 Oo idinna waad ii jawaabteen oo waxaad igu tidhaahdeen, Waxaad ku hadashay waa noo wanaagsan yihiin inaannu samayno.

And ye answered me, —and said, Good, is the word which thou hast spoken to be done.

15 Sidaas daraaddeed waxaan soo kaxaystay madaxdii qabiilooyinkiinna oo ah rag xigmad leh oo caan ah, oo waxaan ka dhigay madax idiin talisa, oo ah kun u taliyayaal, iyo boqol-u-taliyayaal, iyo konton-u-taliyayaal, iyo toban u taliyayaal, iyo saraakiil, siday qabiilooyinkiinnu ahaayeen.

So I took heads for your tribes wise men and known, and placed them as heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties and captains of tens, and overseers for your tribes.

16 Oo waagaas ayaan xaakinnadiinna amray, oo waxaan ku idhi, Maqla dacwadaha walaalihiin dhex yaal, oo caddaalad ugu kala garsoora nin iyo walaalkiis iyo shisheeyaha isaga la jira.

And I charged your judges, at that time, saying, —Ye are to hear between your brethren and shall judge righteously, between each man and his brother and his sojourner.

17 Oo xagga garsooridda dadka ha u kala eexanina. Kii yar iyo kii weynba waa inaad isku si u maqashaan, oo ninna wejigiisa ha ka cabsanina, waayo, garsooridda Ilaah baa iska leh, oo dacwaddii idinku adagna ii keena, oo anna taas waan maqli doonaa.

Ye shall not take note of faces in judgment—so the small as the great, shall ye hear, ye shall not shrink from the face of any man, for judgment, unto God, belongeth, —but the thing which is too hard for you, shall ye bring near unto me, and I will hear it.

18 Oo waagaas waxaan idinku amray wixii aad samayn lahaydeen oo dhan.

So I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.

19 Markaasaynu ka soo guurnay Xoreeb oo waxaynu dhex marnay cidladaas weyn oo aad looga cabsado ee aad soo aragteen ee ku taal jidka loo maro dalka buuraha leh oo reer Amor, siduu inagu amray Rabbiga Ilaaheenna ahu, oo waxaynu nimid Qaadeesh Barneeca.

And when we brake up from Horeb, we came through all that great and terrible desert which ye saw, by way of the hill-country of the Amorites, as Yahweh our God commanded us, —and we entered in as far as Kadesh-barnea.

20 Oo anna markaas waxaan idinku idhi, War waxaad timaadeen dalka buuraha leh oo reer Amor ee Rabbiga Ilaaheenna ahu ina siinayo.

Then said I unto you, —Ye are come in as far as the hill-country of the Amorites, which Yahweh our God, is giving unto us.

21 Bal eega, Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ahu dalkii buu idin hor dhigay. Haddaba u kaca, oo hanti u qaata sidii Rabbiga ah Ilaaha awowayaashiin uu idiin sheegay, oo ha cabsanina, hana qalbi jabina.

See thou—Yahweh thy God hath set before thee the land, —go up—take possession as Yahweh the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee, do not fear, neither be dismayed.

22 Oo mid kastoo idinka mid ahuba wuu ii soo dhowaaday oo wuxuu igu yidhi, War aynu niman iska hor marinno, si ay dalka inoogu soo baadhaan, oo ay inoogu soo sheegaan jidka aan marayno iyo magaalooyinka aan tegayno.

And ye came near unto me all of you, and said Let us send men before us, that they may search out for us the land, —and bring us back word, the way by which we must go up, and the cities whereinto we must enter,

23 Oo anna taas aad baan ugu farxay, markaasaan idinkala soo baxay laba iyo toban nin, oo qabiil kastaba nin baan ka soocay.

And the thing, was good in mine eyes, —so I took from among you twelve men, one man for each tribe.

24 Kolkaasay noqdeen oo buurtii u kaceen, oo waxay gaadheen dooxadii Eshkol, wayna soo basaaseen.

And they turned and went up the hill-country, and entered in as far as the ravine of Eshcol, and explored it.

25 Oo waxay gacmahooda ku soo qaadeen dalka midhihiisii, oo innagay inoo keeneen, oo haddana intay inoo war keeneen ayay yidhaahdeen, Dalku waa dal wanaagsan oo Rabbiga Ilaaheenna ahu ina siinayo.

And they took in their hand of the fruit of the country, and bare it down unto us, and brought us back word, and said, Good is the land, which Yahweh our God, is giving unto us.

26 Laakiinse idinku waad diiddeen inaad u kacdaan, oo waxaad ku caasiyowdeen amarkii Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ah.

Nevertheless ye were not willing to go up, —but rebelled against the bidding of Yahweh, your God;

27 Oo teendhooyinkiinna ayaad ku dhex gunuunacdeen, oo waxaad tidhaahdeen, Rabbigu nacaybka uu inoo qabo aawadiis ayuu dalkii Masar inooga soo bixiyey inuu ina geliyo gacanta reer Amor oo ay ina baabbi'iyaan.

and murmured in your tents and said, Because Yahweh hated us, hath he brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, —to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

28 Bal xaggee baynu u sii kacnaa? Waayo, walaalaheen ayaa qalbigeennii aad u cabsiiyey, oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Dadku waa inaga badan yahay, wayna inaga dhaadheer yihiin, oo magaalooyinkuna way waaweyn yihiin oo deyr samada ku tolan ayaa ku wareegsan, oo weliba waxaan kaloo halkaas ku soo aragnay reer Canaaq.

Whither, are, we, to go up? Our own brethren, have made our heart melt saying—A people greater and taller than we, cities large and walled-up into the heavens, —yea, moreover sons of Anakim, have we seen there.

29 Oo markaasaan idinku idhi, Ha cabsanina, hana ka baqina.

Then I said unto you, —Ye must not tremble, nor be afraid of them:

30 Waayo, waxaa idiin dagaallami doona Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ah ee idin hor socda, si waafaqsan kulli wixii uu indhihiinna hortooda idiinku sameeyey dalkii Masar,

Yahweh your God, who is going before you, he, will fight for you, —according to all that he did with you in Egypt, before your eyes;

31 iyo cidladii oo aad ku soo aragteen sidii Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ahu, sida nin wiilkiisa u sido, uu idiinku siday jidkii aad soo marteen oo dhan ilamaa aad meeshan timaadeen.

also in the desert which thou hast seen, where Yahweh thy God carried thee as a man will carry his son, throughout all the way that ye journeyed, until ye entered as far as, this place.

32 Oo weliba waxyaalahaas kuma aydaan rumaysan Rabbiga Ilaahiinna ah

But in this thing, ye were putting no trust in Yahweh your God;

33 oo jidkii aad soo marteen idinku soo hor kacay si uu idiinku doondoono meel aad teendhooyinkiinna ka dhisataan, isagoo habeenkii dab ku dhex jira, maalintiina daruur, si uu idiin tuso jidka aad mari lahaydeen.

who was going before you in the way—to search out for you a place, where ye might encamp, —in the fire by night, that ye might get sight of the way wherein ye should go, and in the cloud, by day.

34 Oo Rabbigu wuu maqlay codkii erayadiinna, markaasuu cadhooday oo intuu dhaartay ayuu yidhi,

And Yahweh heard the voice of your words, —and was wroth and sware—saying:

35 Hubaal dadka qarnigan sharka ah midkoodna ma arki doono dalka wanaagsan oo aan ku dhaartay inaan awowayaashiin siinayo,

Surely, not one of these men, this wicked generation, —shall see the good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers:

36 Kaaleeb ina Yefunneh mooyaane; isagu wuu arki doonaa, oo waxaan dhulkii uu cag mariyey siin doonaa isaga iyo carruurtiisaba, maxaa yeelay, isagu dhammaan ahaanba ayuu Rabbiga u raacay.

saving Caleb son of Jephunneh, he, shall see it, and unto him, will I give the land through which he hath trodden, and unto his sons, —because he hath wholly followed Yahweh.

37 Oo weliba Rabbigu wuu ii cadhooday idinka aawadiin oo wuxuu yidhi, Adiguna halkaas geli maysid.

Even with me, did Yahweh show himself angry, for your sakes, saying, —Even thou, shalt not enter therein.

38 Yashuuca ina Nuun oo hortaada taagan ayaa halkaas geli doona. Isaga dhiirrigeli, waayo, reer binu Israa'iil ayuu dalkaas dhaxalsiin doonaa.

Joshua son of Nun, who standeth before thee, he, shall enter in thither, him, strengthen thou, for he, shall cause Israel to inherit it.

39 Oo weliba yaryarkiinna, oo aad tidhaahdeen, Waa la dhacayaa, iyo carruurtiinna maanta aan khayr iyo shar kala aqoon, iyagu dalkaas way geli doonaan, oo iyagaan siin doonaa, iyana way hantiyi doonaan.

And your little ones, of whom ye said they should become, a prey, and your sons who to-day know not good and evil, they, shall enter in thither, —and unto them, will I give it, and they, shall possess it.

40 Laakiinse idinku noqda oo u guura cidladii xagga jidka Badda Cas loo maro.

But as for you, turn ye, for your part, —and set forward towards the desert, by way of the Red Sea.

41 Markaasaad jawaabteen oo waxaad igu tidhaahdeen, Rabbiga waannu ku dembaabnay, haddaba waannu tegaynaa oo waxaannu u dagaallamaynaa sidii Rabbiga Ilaahayaga ahu nagu amray. Oo midkiin waluba wuxuu dhexda ku xidhay hubkiisii dagaalka, oo waxaad mooddeen inay fudud dahay inaad buurta u kacdaan.

Then responded ye and said unto me—We have sinned against Yahweh, We, ourselves, will go up, and fight, according to all that Yahweh our God hath commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye foolishly went up towards the hill-country.

42 Markaasaa Rabbigu igu yidhi, Waxaad iyaga ku tidhaahdaa, Kor ha u kicina, hana dagaallamina, waayo, anigu idinkuma dhex jiro, haddii kalese waxaa laydinku layn doonaa cadaawayaashiinna hortooda.

Then said Yahweh unto me—Say unto them Ye shall not go up, nor fight, for I am not in your midst, —lest ye should be smitten before your enemies.

43 Oo sidaasaan idinkula hadlay, laakiinse ima aydaan maqlin, illowse amarkii Rabbiga ayaad ku caasiyowdeen, waadna kibirteen oo buurtaad u kacdeen.

So I spake unto you howbeit ye hearkened not, —but rebelled against the bidding of Yahweh, and presumptuously went up the hill-country.

44 Oo reer Amorkii buurta degganaa ayaa idinku soo baxay oo idiin soo eryaday sida shinnida, oo waxay idinku jebiyeen Seciir iyo tan iyo Xormaah.

Then came forth the Amorites who were dwelling in that country, to meet you, and they chased you, as do, bees; and struck you down in Seir, as far as Hormah.

45 Markaasaad soo noqoteen oo Rabbiga hortiisa ku ooydeen, laakiinse Rabbigu codkiinnii ma uu maqlin, dhegna idiinma uu dhigin.

So then ye returned and wept before Yahweh, —but Yahweh hearkened not unto your voice, nor gave ear unto you.

46 Sidaas daraaddeed Qaadeesh ayaad maalmo badan degganaydeen intii ay ahaayeen maalmihii aad halkaas degganaydeen.

And ye abode in Kadesh many days, —how many were the days that ye abode [there]!
