Samuu'Eel Labaad 11
1 Oo isla xilligii sannaddii dambe, markay boqorradu dagaalka u soo bixi jireen ayaa Daa'uud Yoo'aab diray isagoo wata addoommadiisii, iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan, oo waxay baabbi'iyeen reer Cammoon, oo Rabbaahna way hareereeyeen, laakiinse Daa'uud baa Yeruusaalem iska joogay.
And it came to pass, at the return of the year, at the time of the going forth of kings, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel, and they destroyed the sons of Ammon, and laid siege to Rabbah, —but, David, was remaining in Jerusalem.
2 Oo makhribkii ayaa Daa'uud ka kacay sariirtiisii, oo wuxuu dul socday gurigii boqorka saqafkiisa, oo wuxuu saqafka ka arkay naag maydhanaysa, naagtuna aragga aad bay u qurux badnayd.
And it came to pass that, at eventide, David arose from his couch, and walked to and fro on the roof of the king’s house, when, from the roof, he saw a woman bathing herself, —the woman being exceeding beautiful to look upon.
3 Markaasaa Daa'uud cid naagtii soo haybsata diray. Oo waxaa la yidhi, War sow tanu ma aha Batshebac ina Eliicaam, oo uu Uuriyaah kii reer Xeed qabo?
And David sent and enquired after the woman, —and one said—Is not, this, Bath-sheba, daughter of Eliam, wife of Uriah the Hittite?
4 Markaasaa Daa'uud wargeeyayaal u diray, wuuna soo kaxaystay; markaasay u soo gashay, wuuna la seexday, (waayo, waxay iska daahirisay nijaasteedii); dabadeedna gurigeedii bay ku noqotay.
And David sent messengers, and fetched her, and she came in unto him, and he lay with her, she having purified herself from her uncleanness, —and she returned unto her own house.
5 Oo naagtiina way uuraysatay; markaasay Daa'uud u soo cid dirtay oo u sheegtay, waxayna ku tidhi, Uur baan yeeshay.
And the woman, having conceived, sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
6 Daa'uudna cid buu u diray Yoo'aab, oo ku yidhi, Ii soo dir Uuriyaah kii reer Xeed. Markaasaa Yoo'aab Uuriyaah u soo diray Daa'uud.
Then sent David unto Joab, Send unto me Uriah the Hittite. So Joab sent Uriah unto David.
7 Oo markii Uuriyaah u yimid ayaa Daa'uud weyddiiyey Yoo'aab siduu ahaa, iyo sidii dadku u nabdoonaa, iyo dagaalkii sida loogu guulaystay.
And, when Uriah had come in unto him, David asked—how Joab prospered, and how the people prospered, and how the war prospered.
8 Daa'uudna wuxuu Uuriyaah ku yidhi, Bal orod gurigaaga tag oo cagomaydho. Markaasaa Uuriyaah gurigii boqorka ka baxay oo waxaana lala daba galay cunto ka tagtay xagga boqorka.
Then said David unto Uriah, Go down unto thy house, and bathe thy feet. And, when Uriah went out of the house of the king, there followed him, a present from the king.
9 Laakiinse Uuriyaah guriga boqorka iriddiisa ayuu la seexday addoommadii sayidkiisa oo dhan, oo gurigiisiina ma uu tegin.
But Uriah slept at the entrance of the king’s house, with all the servants of his lord, —and went not down unto his own house.
10 Daa'uudna waa loo soo sheegay oo lagu yidhi, Uuriyaah gurigiisii ma tegin. Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu Uuriyaah ku yidhi, War miyaadan sodcaal ka iman? Maxaadse gurigaaga u tegi weyday?
And it was told David, saying, Uriah went not down, unto his own house. So David said unto Uriah—Was it not, from a journey, thou didst come? why, then, hast thou not been down unto thine own house?
11 Markaasaa Uuriyaah wuxuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, Sanduuqa Ilaah, iyo reer binu Israa'iil, iyo reer Yahuudahba waxay ku jiraan waabab; oo sayidkaygii Yoo'aab iyo addoommadii sayidkayguba waxay ku hoydaan berrin bannaan; haddaba miyaan u galaa gurigayga inaan wax cuno, oo wax cabbo, oo naagtayda la seexdo? Haddaba waxaan ku dhaartay noloshaada iyo naftaada inaanan waxan samaynayn.
And Uriah said unto David—The ark, and Israel and Judah, are dwelling in huts and, my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, on the face of the field, are encamped, Was, I, then, to enter my own house, to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? By thy life, yea by the life of thy soul, I could not do this thing.
12 Markaasaa Daa'uud Uuriyaah ku yidhi, Haddaba bal maantana iska joog oo berrina waan ku dirayaa. Saas aawadeed Uuriyaah maalintaas iyo maalintii dambeba Yeruusaalem buu joogay.
Then said David unto Uriah—Abide here to-day also, and, to-morrow, will I let thee go. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow.
13 Markii Daa'uud u yeedhay ayuu hortiisa wax ku cunay oo wax ku cabbay; markaasuu sakhraamiyey, oo fiidkii buu tegey inuu sariirtiisii jiifsado isagoo la socda addoommadii sayidkiisa, laakiinse gurigiisii ma uu tegin.
And David called him, and he did eat before him, and drank, and he made him drunk, —and he went forth in the evening to lie down on his bed, with the servants of his lord, but, unto his own house, went he not down.
14 Oo subaxdii dambe Daa'uud warqad buu Yoo'aab u qoray, wuxuuna ugu sii dhiibay Uuriyaah.
And so it was, in the morning, that David wrote a letter unto Joab, —and sent it by the hand of Uriah;
15 Oo wuxuu warqaddiisii ku qoray oo yidhi, Uuriyaah waxaad ugu hor marisaan dagaalka ugu kulul, oo idinkuna dib uga noqda, si loo dilo, uuna u dhinto.
and he wrote in the letter, saying, —Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he be smitten and die.
16 Oo markuu Yoo'aab magaaladii arkay ayuu Uuriyaah ku hagaajiyey meeshii uu ku ogaa inay nimankii xoogga badnaa joogaan.
So it came to pass, when Joab was laying siege to the city, that he put Uriah in the place where he knew that the men of valour, were.
17 Oo raggii magaaladuna way soo baxeen, oo Yoo'aab la dirireen, oo dadkiina qaar baa ka dhintay, kuwaas oo ahaa addoommadii Daa'uud; Uuriyaah kii reer Xeedna wuu dhintay.
And forth sallied the men of the city, and fought with Joab, and there fell some of the people, of the servants of David, —then died also, Uriah the Hittite.
18 Markaasaa Yoo'aab Daa'uud cid u diray, oo wixii dagaalkii ku saabsanaa oo dhan ayuu uga warramay,
So Joab sent and told David all the news of the battle;
19 oo kii farriinta wadayna wuxuu ku amray oo ku yidhi, Markaad boqorka uga warrantid waxa dagaalka ku saabsan oo dhan,
and he charged the messenger saying, —When thou hast ended all the news of the battle, in speaking unto the king,
20 markaas hadduu boqorku cadhoodo, oo kugu yidhaahdo, War maxaad magaalada ugu dhowaateen inaad la dirirtaan? Miyeydaan ogayn inay derbiga idinka soo tooganayaan?
then shall it be, if the king’s anger arise, and he say unto thee, Why came ye near unto the city, to fight? Knew ye not, that they would shoot from off the wall?
21 Bal yaa dilay Abiimeleg oo ahaa ina Yerubbeshed? Sow naagu dhagax wax lagu shiido derbi kagama soo tuurin oo sow kuma uu dhiman Tebes? Haddaba maxaad idinku derbiga ugu dhowaateen? Markaas waxaad ku tidhaahdaa, Addoonkaagii Uuriyaah ahaa ee reer Xeed isna waa dhintay.
Who smote Abimelech son of Jerubbaal? Did not, a woman, cast on him an upper millstone from off the wall, that he died, in Thebez? Wherefore came ye near unto the wall? Then shalt thou say—Moreover, thy servant, Uriah the Hittite, died.
22 Haddaba wargeeyihii waa tegey, Daa'uudna wuu u yimid oo u sheegay wixii Yoo'aab u soo diray oo dhan.
And the messenger went his way, —and came in, and told David, all that Joab had sent him [to tell].
23 Oo wargeeyihii wuxuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, Nimankii way naga xoog badnaadeen, markaasay dibadda noogu soo baxeen, oo annana waxaannu eryannay iyagii ilaa ay iriddii magaalada galeen.
And the messenger said unto David, The men were too strong for us, and sallied forth against us, in the field, —so we were drawn against them as far as the opening of the gate.
24 Markaasay kuwii wax toogan jiray addoommadaadii derbiga ka soo toogteen, oo boqorow, addoommadaadiina qaar baa dhintay, oo addoonkaagii Uuriyaah ahaa ee reer Xeed isna wuu dhintay.
Then did the archers shoot upon thy servants, from off the wall, and there died some of the servants of the king, —moreover also, thy servant, Uriah the Hittite, died.
25 Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu wargeeyihii ku yidhi, Waxaad Yoo'aab ku tidhaahdaa, Waxanu yay kula xumaan, waayo, seeftu mar mid bay baabbi'isaa, marna midka kale, haddaba magaalada dagaalka aad ugu sii adkee, oo afgembi; oo adna isaga dhiirrigeli.
Then said David unto the messenger—Thus, shalt thou say unto Joab, —Let not this thing be grievous in thine eyes, for, now this one, and then that one, doth the sword devour, —make hot thy battle against the city, and overthrow it; Thus embolden thou him.
26 Oo Uuriyaah bilcaantiisiina markay maqashay in ninkeedii Uuriyaah dhintay, way u barooratay ninkeedii.
And, when Uriah’s wife heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she made loud lamentation over her lord.
27 Oo markii baroortii dhammaatay ayaa Daa'uud u soo cid diray iyadii oo gurigiisii soo gashaday, oo iyana waxay noqotay naagtiisii, wiilna way u dhashay. Laakiinse wixii Daa'uud sameeyey ayaa Rabbigu ka xumaaday.
And, when the time of mourning had passed, David sent and received her into his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing which David had done was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh.
