< Taariikhdii Labaad 14 >

1 Markaasaa Abiiyaah dhintay oo la seexday awowayaashiis, oo waxaa lagu aasay magaaladii Daa'uud, oo meeshiisiina waxaa boqor ka noqday wiilkiisii Aasaa, oo wakhtigiisiina dalku wuu xasilloonaa intii toban sannadood ah.
Then Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the City of David. And his son, Asa, reigned in his place. During his days, the land was quiet for ten years.
2 Oo Aasaana wuxuu sameeyey wixii Rabbiga Ilaahiisa ah hortiisa ku wanaagsanaa oo ku qummanaa,
Now Asa did what was good and pleasing in the sight of his God. And he overturned the altars of foreign worship, and the high places.
3 maxaa yeelay, isagu wuxuu baabbi'iyey meelihii allabariga ee qalaadaa iyo meelihii sarsare, oo tiirarkiina wuu wada jejebiyey, geedihii Asheeraahna wuu wada jaray,
And he broke apart the statues, and he cut down the sacred groves.
4 oo dadkii Yahuudahna wuxuu ku amray inay doondoonaan Rabbiga ah Ilaaha awowayaashood, iyo inay yeelaan sharciga iyo amarka.
And he instructed Judah that they should seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, and that they should carry out the law and all the commandments.
5 Oo haddana magaalooyinkii dalka Yahuudah oo dhan wuxuu ka baabbi'iyey meelihii sarsare iyo sanamyadii qorraxda, oo boqortooyaduna isaga hortiisa way ku xasilloonayd.
And he took away, from all the cities of Judah, the altars and the shrines. And he reigned in peace.
6 Oo isagu dalka Yahuudahna wuxuu ka dhisay magaalooyin deyr leh, maxaa yeelay, dalku wuu xasilloonaa oo isaguna dagaal ma gelin sannadahaas, waayo, Ilaah baa isaga nasiyey.
Also, he built fortified cities in Judah. For it was quiet, and in his time no wars had arisen. For the Lord was generously granting peace.
7 Oo wuxuu dadkii Yahuudah ku yidhi, Kaalaya aan magaalooyinkan dhisnee oo aan u yeelno derbiyo, iyo munaarado, iyo irdo, iyo qataarro; dalku weli waa ina hor yaal, maxaa yeelay, waxaynu doondoonnay Rabbiga Ilaaheenna ah; isagaynu doondoonnay, oo isna dhan kasta ayuu inaga nasiyey. Markaasay magaalooyinkii dhiseen, wayna liibaaneen.
Then he said to Judah: “Let us build these cities, and strengthen them with walls, and fortify them with towers and gates and bars, while all things are at rest from wars. For we have sought the Lord, the God of our fathers, and he has granted to us peace on every side.” And so they built, and there was nothing to impede them from building.
8 Oo Aasaana wuxuu lahaa ciidan gaashaammo iyo warmo sita, oo waxaa reer Yahuudah ka soo baxay saddex boqol oo kun, reer Benyaamiinna waxaa ka soo baxay kuwo gaashaammo sita oo qaansooyin xoota oo ah laba boqol iyo siddeetan kun, oo kulligoodna waxay wada ahaayeen rag xoog badan.
Now Asa had in his army three hundred thousand men of Judah, carrying shields and spears, and truly, of Benjamin, two hundred eighty thousand men with shields and bows. All of these were very valiant men.
9 Oo waxaa iyagii ku soo kacay Serax oo ahaa reer Itoobiya isagoo wata ciidan tiradiisu tahay malyuun, iyo saddex boqol oo gaadhifaras, oo isagu wuxuu yimid Maareeshaah.
Then Zerah, the Ethiopian, went forth against them with his army of one million men, and three hundred chariots. And he approached as far as Mareshah.
10 Markaasaa Aasaa u baxay inuu isaga ka hor tago, oo waxay dagaal isugu diyaariyeen Dooxadii Sefaataah oo Maareeshaah u dhow.
And Asa traveled to meet him, and he set up a battle line for the war in the Valley of Zephathah, which is near Mareshah.
Rabbiyow, waxaad tahay Ilaahayaga, haddaba ninna yuusan kaa adkaan.
And he called upon the Lord God, and he said: “O Lord, there is no difference to you, whether you assist by few, or by many. Help us, O Lord our God. For having faith in you and in your name, we have gone forth against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God. Do not allow man to prevail against you.”
12 Oo sidaas daraaddeed Aasaa iyo dadkii Yahuudah hortooda ayaa Rabbigu ku jebiyey kuwii reer Itoobiya, kuwii reer Itoobiyana way carareen.
And so the Lord terrified the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah. And the Ethiopians fled.
13 Markaasaa Aasaa iyo dadkii la socday u eryadeen xagga Geraar, oo waxaa kuwii reer Itoobiya ka dhintay dad faro badan oo iyaga ayan ka soo kaban karin, maxaa yeelay, iyagu waxay ku hor baabbe'een Rabbiga iyo ciidankiisaba, oo weliba waxay kala tageen maal booli ah oo aad u badan.
And Asa, and the people who were with him, pursued them as far as Gerar. And the Ethiopians fell, even unto utter destruction, for the Lord was striking, and his army was battling, and they were destroyed. Therefore, they took many spoils.
14 Oo waxay kaloo wax ku dhufteen magaalooyinkii Geraar ku wareegsanaa oo dhan, waayo, iyaga waxaa ku dhacday Rabbiga cabsidiisii, oo magaalooyinkii oo dhanna way dhaceen, maxaa yeelay, waxaa iyaga ku jiray maal badan.
And they struck all the cities surrounding Gerar. For indeed, a great fear had overwhelmed everyone. And they despoiled the cities, and they carried away much plunder.
15 Oo haddana waxay burburiyeen teendhooyinkii xoolodhaqatada, waxayna dhaceen ido faro badan iyo geel. Dabadeedna Yeruusaalem bay ku noqdeen.
Then too, destroying the fencing for the sheep, they took an innumerable multitude of cattle and camels. And they returned to Jerusalem.
