1 Kolkii Saa'uul ka soo noqday kuwii reer Falastiin oo uu raacdaysanayay ayaa loo soo sheegay oo lagu yidhi, Daa'uud cidlada Ceyn Gedii buu joogaa.
And it came to pass, when Saul had returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying: Lo! David is in the wilderness of En-gedi.
2 Markaasaa Saa'uul reer binu Israa'iil oo dhan kala baxay saddex kun oo nin oo la doortay, oo wuxuu Daa'uud iyo raggiisii ka xulayay dhagaxyadii ay riyodibadeedku joogeen.
Then Saul took three thousand chosen men, out of all Israel, —and went to seek David and his men, over the face of the rocks of the mountain-goats.
3 Markaasuu wuxuu yimid xeryihii idaha oo jidka ku ag yiil, oo halkaasna waxaa ku tiil bohol; markaasaa Saa'uul halkaas u galay inuu cagihiisa qariyo aawadeed. Haddaba Daa'uud iyo raggiisiiba waxay ku jireen bohosha meelaha ugu sii hooseeya.
And he came into the sheep-folds by the way, there, being a cave, which Saul entered, to cover his feet, —David and his men, in the hinder part of the cave, having taken up their abode.
4 Oo Daa'uudna raggiisii waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Bal eeg, maanta waa maalintii Rabbigu kugu yidhi, Cadowgaaga gacantaadaan ku soo ridi doonaa, oo waxaad ku samayn doontaa wixii kula wanaagsan. Markaasaa Daa'uud kacay, oo hoos ahaan ayuu aayar u gooyay Saa'uul darafkii khamiiskiisa.
So David’s men said unto him—Lo! the day of which Yahweh said unto thee—Lo! I am about to deliver up thine enemy, into thy hand: therefore shall thou do unto him, as shall be good in thine eyes. And David arose, and cut off the corner of the robe which belonged to Saul, by stealth.
5 Oo waxay hadhow noqotay in Daa'uud qalbigiisii naxdini ku dhacday, maxaa yeelay, wuxuu gooyay darafkii khamiiskii Saa'uul.
And it came to pass afterwards that David’s heart smote him, —because he had cut off the corner [of the robe] which belonged to Saul.
6 Markaasuu wuxuu raggiisii ku yidhi, Rabbigu ha iga fogeeyo inaan waxan ku sameeyo sayidkayga kaasoo ah Rabbiga kiisa subkan, iyo inaan isaga gacanta u qaada, maxaa yeelay, wuxuu yahay Rabbiga kiisa subkan.
And he said unto his men—Far be it from me, of Yahweh, that I should do this thing unto my lord, unto the Anointed of Yahweh, to thrust forth my hand against him, —for, the Anointed of Yahweh, is he!
7 Sidaasaa Daa'uud raggiisii ugu diiday erayadaas, oo umana uu oggolaan inay Saa'uul ku kacaan. Markaasaa Saa'uul ka soo baxay bohoshii, oo iska tegey.
So David did chide his men with the words, and did not suffer them to rise up against Saul. And, Saul, rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
8 Oo Daa'uudna mar dambuu kacay oo bohoshii ka soo baxay, oo wuxuu ka daba qayliyey Saa'uul, oo ku yidhi, Sayidkaygiiyow, boqorow. Oo Saa'uulna markuu dib dhugtay ayaa Daa'uud wejiga dhulka saaray, wuuna sujuuday.
Then David rose up, afterwards, and went forth out of the cave, and cried out after Saul, saying—My lord, O king! And, when Saul looked about behind him, David inclined his face to the earth, and bowed himself down.
9 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu Saa'uul ku yidhi, War maxaad u maqashaa dadka warkiisa intay kugu yidhaahdaan, Daa'uud wuxuu doonayaa inuu wax ku yeelo?
Then said David to Saul, Wherefore shouldst thou hearken unto the words of the sons of earth, saying, —Lo! David is seeking thy hurt?
10 Bal eeg, maanta indhahaagu way arkeen sida Rabbigu iigu soo kaa gacangeliyey annagoo godka ku jirna, oo qaarna, Dil, bay igu yidhaahdeen, laakiinse waan kuu naxay; oo waxaan idhi, Anigu sayidkayga gacanta u qaadi maayo, maxaa yeelay, isagu waa Rabbiga kiisa subkan.
Lo! this day, have thine own eyes seen, how Yahweh had delivered thee up, to-day, into my hand in the cave, and, when one bade me slay thee, I looked with compassion upon thee, —and I said—I will not thrust forth my hand against my lord, for, the Anointed of Yahweh, is he!
11 Bal eeg, aabbow, bal eeg haddana darafkii khamiiskaaga oo gacantayda ku jira, waayo, waxaan gooyay darafkii khamiiskaaga, kumana diline, haddaba ogow inayan gacantayda ku jirin shar iyo xadgudub toona, oo anna kuguma aanan dembaabin, in kastoo aad naftayda u gaadaysid inaad iga qaaddid.
But, my father, see, yea, see, the corner of thy robe in my hand, —for, in that I cut off the corner of thy robe, and yet did not slay thee, know thou, and see, that there is not in my hand either wrong or transgression, neither have I sinned against thee, yet art thou hunting my life, to take it.
12 Rabbigu aniga iyo adiga ha ina kala xukumo, oo Rabbigu ha iiga kaa aar gudo, gacantayduse ku taaban mayso.
Let Yahweh do justice betwixt me and thee, and let Yahweh avenge me of thee, —but, mine own hand, shall not be upon thee.
13 Sida ay leedahay maahmaahdii dadkii hore, Kii shar ah waxaa ka soo baxda sharnimo, gacantayduse ku taaban mayso.
As saith the proverb of the ancients, From the lawless, proceedeth lawlessness, —mine own hand, therefore shall not be upon thee.
14 Bal boqorkii reer binu Israa'iilow, yaad ka soo daba baxaysaa? Oo bal yaad eryanaysaa? Ma eey bakhti ah, mase tagfi?
After whom, hath the king of Israel come forth? After whom, art thou in pursuit? After a dead dog! after a single flea!
15 Haddaba Rabbigu aniga iyo adiga dhexdeenna xaakin ha ka ahaado oo ha inoo garnaqo, oo ha arko gartayda, gacantaadana ha iga samatabbixiyo.
Therefore shall, Yahweh, become, judge, and do justice betwixt me and thee, —that he may see, and plead my cause, and justly deliver me out of thy hand.
16 Markii Daa'uud hadalkaas Saa'uul u dhammeeyey ayaa Saa'uulna wuxuu yidhi, Wiilkaygii Daa'uudow, kaasu ma codkaagii baa? Saa'uulna codkiisii kor buu u qaaday oo ooyay.
And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Thy voice, is this, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
17 Kolkaasuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, Aad baad iiga qumman tahay, waayo, wanaag baad ii fashay, anse xumaan baan kuugu beddelay.
And he said unto David, More righteous, art thou than I, for, thou, hast requited me, good, but, I, have requited thee, evil.
18 Oo adna maanta waxaad caddaysay sidii aad si wanaagsan iigula macaamilootay, waayo, markii Rabbigu gacantaada igu soo riday ima aadan dilin.
Thou, then, hast told to-day, how thou hast dealt with me, for good, —how, when Yahweh had surrendered me into thy hand, thou didst not slay me.
19 Waayo, haddii nin cadowgiisa helo miyuu wanaag ku sii dayn lahaa? Sidaas daraaddeed tan aad maanta ii samaysay aawadeed Rabbigu wanaag ha kuugu abaalgudo.
Yet, when a man findeth his enemy, will he let him get easily away? Yahweh, then, give thee, good, reward for what, this day, thou hast done unto me.
20 Oo hadda bal eeg, hubaal waan ogahay inaad boqor noqonaysid, iyo in boqortooyada reer binu Israa'iil gacantaada ku dhismi doonto.
Now, therefore, lo! I know that thou, shalt indeed become king, —and that the kingdom of Israel, shall be established in thy hand.
21 Haddaba bal Rabbiga iigu dhaaro, inaadan gooynayn farcankayga iga dambeeya, iyo inaadan magacayga reer aabbahay ka dhex baabbi'inayn.
Now, therefore, swear unto me by Yahweh, that thou wilt not eat off my seed, after me, —and wilt not destroy my name out of the house my father.
22 Markaasaa Daa'uud u dhaartay Saa'uul. Oo Saa'uulna gurigiisii buu tegey, laakiinse Daa'uud iyo raggiisiiba waxay galeen dhufayskii.
So David sware unto Saul, —and Saul departed unto his own house, but, David and his men, went up on the stronghold.
