1 Haddaba reer Falastiin waxay soo wada ururiyeen ciidammadoodii oo dagaal isu diyaariyey, oo waxay dhammaantood ku soo wada urureen Sokoh, oo ay reer Yahuudah leeyihiin, oo waxay soo degeen Efes Dammiim oo u dhexaysa Sokoh iyo Caseeqaah.
Nowe the Philistims gathered their armies to battell, and came together to Shochoh, which is in Iudah, and pitched betweene Shochoh and Azekah, in the coast of Dammim.
2 Markaasay Saa'uul iyo raggii reer binu Israa'iilna isa soo wada urursadeen, oo waxay soo degeen dooxada Eelaah, oo isu diyaariyeen inay la dagaallamaan reer Falastiin.
And Saul, and the men of Israel assembled, and pitched in the valley of Elah, and put themselues in battell araie to meete the Philistims.
3 Oo reer Falastiin waxay soo istaageen buur dhinac ah, reer binu Israa'iilna waxay soo istaageen buur dhinacii kale ah; oo waxaana labada qolo u dhexaysay dooxo.
And the Philistims stoode on a mountaine on the one side, and Israel stoode on a mountaine on the other side: so a valley was betweene them.
4 Oo waxaa xeradii reer Falastiin ka soo baxay nin tiirri ah oo magiciisa la yidhaahdo Goli'ad, oo reer Gad ah oo dhererkiisuna wuxuu ahaa lix dhudhun iyo taako.
Then came a man betweene them both out of the tents of the Philistims, named Goliath of Gath: his height was sixe cubites and an hande breadth,
5 Oo waxaa madaxiisa u saarnaa koofiyad naxaas ah, dhar bir ahna wuu huwanaa, oo dharka miisaankiisuna wuxuu ahaa shan kun oo sheqel oo naxaas ah.
Aud had an helmet of brasse vpon his head, and a brigandine vpon him: and the weight of his brigandine was fiue thousand shekels of brasse.
6 Oo lugahana waxaa ugu xidhnaa naxaas, garbaha dhexdoodana naxaas kale.
And he had bootes of brasse vpon his legs, and a shield of brasse vpon his shoulders.
7 Oo samayda warankiisuna waxay le'ekayd dharsameeyaha looxiisa, oo miisaanka afka warankiisuna wuxuu ahaa lix boqol oo sheqel oo bir ah; oo waxaana hor socday gaashaansidihiisii.
And the shaft of his speare was like a weauers beame: and his speare head weyed sixe hundreth shekels of yron: and one bearing a shielde went before him.
8 Oo intuu soo istaagay ayuu ku qayliyey ciidammadii reer binu Israa'iil, oo ku yidhi, War maxaad ugu soo baxdeen oo aad dagaal isugu soo diyaariseen? Sow anigu ma ihi reer Falastiin, idinna ma ihidin addoommadii Saa'uul? Haddaba nin iska soo doorta, oo isna ha ii soo dhaadhaco.
And he stoode, and cried against the hoste of Israel, and saide vnto them, Why are yee come to set your battell in aray? am not I a Philistim, and you seruaunts to Saul? chuse you a man for you, and let him come downe to me.
9 Oo hadduu awoodo inuu ila diriro oo i dilo, markaas waxaan idiin noqonaynaa addoommadiinnii; laakiinse haddaan ka adkaado oo dilo isaga, markaas waxaad noo noqonaysaan addoommo oo waad noo adeegaysaan.
If he be able to fight with me, and kill me, then wil we be your seruants: but if I ouercome him, and kill him, then shall yee be our seruants, and serue vs.
10 Oo kii reer Falastiin wuxuu yidhi, Ciidammada reer binu Israa'iilow, car, maanta ii soo dira nin ila dirira.
Also the Philistim saide, I defie the hoste of Israel this day: giue mee a man, that we may fight together.
11 Oo Saa'uul iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu markay maqleen erayadii reer Falastiin way nexeen, aad bayna u cabsadeen.
When Saul and all Israel heard those wordes of the Philistim, they were discouraged, and greatly afraide.
12 Haddaba Daa'uud wuxuu ahaa wiil uu dhalay nin reer Efraad ah oo deggan Beytlaxamta reer Yahuudah, oo magiciisana la yidhaahdo Yesay; oo isna wuxuu lahaa siddeed wiil; oo ninkaasuna wuxuu ahaa nin duq ah oo joogay wakhtigii Saa'uul, oo dadkana aad buu ugu dhex gaboobay.
Nowe this Dauid was the sonne of an Ephrathite of Beth-lehem Iudah, named Ishai, which had eight sonnes: and this man was taken for an olde man in the daies of Saul.
13 Oo Yesay saddexdiisii wiil oo waaweynayd waxay Saa'uul u raaceen xagga dagaalka; oo saddexdiisii wiil oo dagaalka tagtay magacyadoodii waxay ahaayeen Elii'aab kii curadka ahaa, iyo Abiinaadaab oo ku xigay, iyo kan saddexaad oo Shammaah ahaa.
And the three eldest sonnes of Ishai went and followed Saul to the battel: and the names of his three sonnes that went to battell, were Eliab the Eldest, and the next Abinadab, and the thirde Shammah.
14 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu ahaa kii ugu yaraa; saddexdii ugu waaweynaydna waxay raaceen Saa'uul.
So Dauid was the least: and the three eldest went after Saul.
15 Daa'uudna hadba Saa'uul wuu ka tegi jiray, wuuna ku soo noqon jiray, inuu idaha aabbihiis Beytlaxam ku daajiyo aawadeed.
Dauid also went, but hee returned from Saul to feede his fathers sheepe in Beth-lehem.

And the Philistim drew neere in the morning, and euening, and continued fourtie daies.
17 Markaasaa Yesay wuxuu wiilkiisii Daa'uud ku yidhi, Waxaad walaalahaa u qaaddaa eefaah hadhuudhkan duban ah, iyo tobankan xabbadood ee kibista ah, oo haddiiba xeradii u qaad oo walaalahaa u gee,
And Ishai said vnto Dauid his sone, Take nowe for thy brethren an Ephah of this parched corne, and these ten cakes, and runne to the hoste to thy brethren.
18 oo tobankan xabbadood ee burcadka ahna waxaad u geeysaa kun-u-taliyahooda, oo soo eeg sida walaalahaa xaalkoodu yahay, warkooda oo xaqiiqa ahna ii keen.
Also carie these ten fresh cheeses vnto the captaine, and looke howe thy brethren fare, and receiue their pledge.
19 Haddaba Saa'uul, iyo iyagii, iyo raggii reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu, waxay joogeen dooxadii Eelaah, iyagoo reer Falastiin la diriraya.
(Then Saul and they, and all the men of Israel were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistims)
20 Markaasaa Daa'uud aroor hore kacay, oo wuxuu idihii kaga tegey mid dhawra; dabadeedna intuu tegey ayuu qaaday wixii Yesay ku amray. Markaasuu yimid meeshii gaadhifardoodku tubnaa, intii ciidankii goobta dagaalka u baxayay ay dirirta u qaylinayeen.
So Dauid rose vp earely in the morning, and left the sheepe with a keeper, and tooke and went as Ishai had commanded him, and came within the compasse of the hoste: and the hoste went out in araie, and shouted in the battell.
21 Oo reer binu Israa'iil iyo reer Falastiin dagaal bay isugu soo diyaariyeen, iyadoo ciidanba ciidanka kale ka gees yahay.
For Israel and the Philistims had put themselues in araie, armie against armie.
22 Oo Daa'uud wuxuu alaabtiisii kaga tegey kii alaabta dhawrayay gacantiisii, wuuna ku orday ciidankii, oo intuu walaalihiis u tegey ayuu salaamay.
And Dauid left the things, which hee bare, vnder the handes of the keeper of the cariage, and ranne into the hoste, and came, and asked his brethren howe they did.
23 Oo intuu walaalihiis la hadlayay, bal eeg, waxaa soo baxay tiirrigii reer Falastiin ee Gad ka yimid, ee magiciisa Goli'ad la odhan jiray, isagoo ka soo dhex baxay safafkii reer Falastiin, oo wuxuu ku hadlay erayadiisii hore oo kale; Daa'uudna taas wuu maqlay.
And as hee talked with them, beholde, the man that was betweene the two armies, came vp, (whose name was Goliath ye Philistim of Gath) out of the armie of the Philistims, and spake such woordes, and Dauid heard them.
24 Oo raggii reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu markii ay ninkii arkeen ayay ka carareen, aad bayna uga cabsadeen.
And all the men of Israel, when they sawe the man, ranne away from him, and were sore afraied.
25 Oo raggii reer binu Israa'iilna waxay yidhaahdeen, War ma aragteen ninkan soo baxay? Hubaal wuxuu u soo baxay inuu reer binu Israa'iil careeyo; oo waxay noqon doontaa in ninkii isaga dila uu boqorku taajir ka dhigi doono oo maal badan siin doono; gabadhiisuuna siin doonaa, oo reerka aabbihiisna ku dhex xorayn doonaa reer binu Israa'iil.
For euery man of Israel saide, Sawe yee not this man that commeth vp? euen to reuile Israel is he come vp: and to him that killeth him, wil the king giue great riches, and will giue him his daughter, yea, and make his fathers house free in Israel.
26 Markaasaa Daa'uud raggii dhinaciisa taagnaa la hadlay, oo ku yidhi, Ninkii dila midkan reer Falastiin, oo ceebta ka qaada reer binu Israa'iil, maxaa lagu samayn doonaa? Oo bal yuu yahay buuryoqabkan reer Falastiin ee Ilaaha nool ciidammadiisa caraysan karaa?
Then Dauid spake to the men that stoode with him, and sayde, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistim, and taketh away the shame from Israel? for who is this vncircumcised Philistim, that he shoulde reuile the hoste of the liuing God?
27 Oo dadkiina waxay ugu jawaabeen, oo ku yidhaahdeen, Sidan baa lagu samayn doonaa ninkii dila.
And the people answered him after this maner, saying, Thus shall it be done to the man that killeth him.
28 Oo markuu ragga la hadlayay Elii'aab oo ahaa walaalkiisii ugu weynaa ayaa maqlay, oo Elii'aabna aad buu ugu cadhooday Daa'uud oo wuxuu ku yidhi, War maxaad u soo dhaadhacday? Oo bal yaad uga soo kacday xayntii idaha ahayd oo cidlada joogtay? Anigu waan aqaan kibirkaaga, iyo xumaanta qalbigaaga ku jirta, waayo, waxaad u timid inaad dagaalka fiirsato.
And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake vnto the men, and Eliab was verie angrie with Dauid, and sayde, Why camest thou downe hither? and with whome hast thou left those fewe sheepe in the wildernesse? I knowe thy pride and the malice of thine heart, that thou art come downe to see the battell.
29 Markaasaa Daa'uud ku yidhi, Bal maxaan haatan sameeyey? Sow hadal uun ma aha?
Then Dauid sayde, What haue I nowe done? Is there not a cause?
30 Markaasuu isagii uga jeestay mid kale, oo sidii oo kaluu kula hadlay; oo dadkiina sidii hore oo kalay ugu jawaabeen.
And hee departed from him into the presence of another, and spake of the same maner, and the people answered him according to the former woordes.
31 Oo erayadii Daa'uud ku hadlay markii la maqlay ayaa Saa'uul loo warramay, oo isna wuu u soo cid diray.
And they that heard the wordes which Dauid spake, rehearsed them before Saul, which caused him to be brought.
32 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu Saa'uul ku yidhi, Ninna yuusan u cabsan isaga aawadiis; anoo addoonkaaga ah ayaan u tegi doonaa oo la diriri doonaa midkan reer Falastiin.
So Dauid saide to Saul, Let no mans heart faile him, because of him: thy seruant wil goe, and fight with this Philistim.
33 Oo Saa'uulna wuxuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, Adigu ma awoodid inaad la dirirto midkan reer Falastiin, waayo, waxaad tahay wiil yar, isna dagaalyahan buu ahaa tan iyo yaraantiisii.
And Saul sayde to Dauid, Thou art not able to goe against this Philistim to fight with him: for thou art a boye, and he is a man of warre from his youth.
34 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu Saa'uul ku yidhi, Anoo addoonkaaga ah waxaan hayn jiray idaha aabbahay, oo haddii libaax ama orso yimaado, oo idaha nayl yar ka qaato,
And Dauid answered vnto Saul, Thy seruant kept his fathers sheepe, and there came a lyon, and likewise a beare, and tooke a sheepe out of the flocke,

And I went out after him and smote him, and tooke it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by the beard, and smote him, and slue him.
36 Anoo addoonkaaga ah libaaxii iyo orsadiiba waan dilay; oo midkan reer Falastiin oo buuryoqabka ahuna iyagoo kaluu noqon doonaa, waayo, wuxuu careeyey ciidammadii Ilaaha nool.
So thy seruaunt slue both the lyon, and the beare: therefore this vncircumcised Philistim shall be as one of them, seeing hee hath railed on the hoste of the liuing God.
37 Oo Daa'uud wuxuu haddana yidhi, Rabbiga iga samatabbixiyey ciddiyihii libaaxa iyo ciddiyihii orsada ayaa haddana iga samatabbixin doona gacanta midkan reer Falastiin. Markaasaa Saa'uul wuxuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, Tag, Rabbigu ha kula jiree.
Moreouer Dauid sayd, The Lord that deliuered me out of the pawe of the lyon, and out of the paw of the beare, he wil deliuer me out of the hand of this Philistim. Then Saul sayd vnto Dauid, Go, and the Lord be with thee.
38 Markaasaa Saa'uul Daa'uud u xidhay dharkiisii, oo madaxiisana u saaray koofiyad naxaas ah, oo wuxuu kaloo huwiyey dhar bir ah.
And Saul put his rayment vpon Dauid, and put an helmet of brasse vpon his head, and put a brigandine vpon him.
39 Oo Daa'uudna seeftii buu ku kor xidhay dharkiisii, oo wuxuu isku dayay inuu socdo, waayo, ma uu tijaabin. Markaasaa Daa'uud wuxuu Saa'uul ku yidhi, Kuwan kuma socon karo; waayo, ma aanan tijaabin. Markaasaa Daa'uud iska dhigay.
Then girded Dauid his sword vpon his rayment, and began to go: for he neuer proued it: and Dauid sayde vnto Saul, I can not goe with these: for I am not accustomed. wherefore Dauid put them off him.

Then tooke he his staffe in his hand, and chose him fiue smoothe stones out of a brooke, and put them in his shepheards bagge or skrippe, and his sling was in his hand, and he drewe neere to the Philistim.
41 Oo ninkii reer Falastiinna Daa'uud buu u soo dhowaaday; ninkii gaashaanka u sidayna wuu hor socday.
And the Philistim came and drew neere vnto Dauid, and the man that bare the shielde went before him.
42 Oo markii kii reer Falastiin wax fiiriyey, wuxuu arkay Daa'uud, wuuna quudhsaday; waayo, wuxuu ahaa wiil yar uun, oo cas, oo soojeed qurxoon.
Now when the Philistim looked about and saw Dauid, he disdeined him: for he was but yong, ruddie, and of a comely face.
43 Markaasaa kii reer Falastiin wuxuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, War anigu ma eey baan ahay waadiga ulo ii soo qaataye? Oo kii reer Falastiin Daa'uud buu ku habaaray magacyadii ilaahyadiisii.
And the Philistim sayde vnto Dauid, Am I a dog, that thou commest to me with staues? And the Philistim cursed Dauid by his gods.
44 Kii reer Falastiinna wuxuu Daa'uud ku yidhi, Ii kaalay oo hilibkaagaan siin doonaa haadka hawada iyo dugaagga duurka.
And the Philistim sayd to Dauid, Come to me, and I will giue thy flesh vnto the foules of the heauen, and to the beastes of the field.
45 Markaasuu Daa'uud kii reer Falastiin ku yidhi, Adigu waxaad ii soo qaadatay seef iyo waran iyo hoto; aniguse waxaan kuula imid magaca Rabbiga ciidammada, kaasoo ah Ilaaha ciidammada reer binu Israa'iil ee aad caraysiisay.
Then sayd Dauid to the Philistim, Thou commest to me with a sword, and with a speare, and with a shield, but I come to thee in the Name of the Lord of hostes, the God of the hoste of Israel, whom thou hast rayled vpon.
46 Maanta Rabbigu gacantayduu ii soo kaa gelin doonaa; waanan ku dili doonaa, oo madaxaanan kaa gooyn doonaa; oo maanta meydka reer Falastiin ciidankooda waxaan siin doonaa haadka hawada, iyo dugaagga dhulka, si dunida oo dhammu ay u ogaato in Ilaah ku dhex jiro reer binu Israa'iil;
This day shall the Lord close thee in mine hand, and I shall smite thee, and take thine head from thee, and I wil giue the carkeises of the hoste of the Philistims this daye vnto the foules of the heauen, and to the beasts of the earth, that all the world may know that Israel hath a God,
47 iyo si uu shirkan oo dhammu u ogaado inaan Rabbigu wax ku badbaadin seef iyo waran; waayo, dagaalka Rabbigaa leh, oo gacantayaduu idinku soo ridi doonaa.
And that all this assembly may know, that the Lord saueth not with sworde nor with speare (for the battel is the Lords) and he will giue you into our handes.
48 Oo markii kii reer Falastiin soo kacay oo uu u soo dhowaaday inuu Daa'uud ka hor tago, ayaa Daa'uud soo dhaqsaday oo ku soo orday xaggii ciidanka inuu ka hor tago kii reer Falastiin.
And when the Philistim arose to come and drawe neere vnto Dauid, Dauid hasted and ran to fight against the Philistim.
49 Markaasaa Daa'uud gacanta geliyey kolaygiisii, oo dhagax kala soo baxay, oo intuu wadhfiyey ayuu kii reer Falastiin wejiga kaga dhuftay, oo dhagaxiina wejigiisuu dalaq yidhi, markaasuu dhulka afgembi ugu dhacay.
And Dauid put his hande in his bagge, and tooke out a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistim in his forehead, that the stone sticked in his forehead, and he fell groueling to the earth.
50 Sidaasuu Daa'uud kii reer Falastiin kaga adkaaday wadhaf iyo dhagax, oo wuu ku dhuftay, wuuna dilay; laakiinse Daa'uud gacanta seefu uguma jirin.
So Dauid ouercame the Philistim with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistim, and slew him, when Dauid had no sword in his hand.
51 Markaasaa Daa'uud orday oo ag istaagay kii reer Falastiin, oo wuxuu ka qaatay seeftiisii, oo galkii ka soo bixiyey, oo intuu ku bireeyey ayuu madaxiina kaga gooyay. Oo kuwii reer Falastiinna markay arkeen in tiirrigoodii dhintay ayay carareen.
Then Dauid ranne, and stood vpon the Philistim, and tooke his sword and drew it out of his sheath, and slewe him, and cut off his head therewith. So whe the Philistims saw, that their champion was dead, they fled.
52 Markaasay raggii reer binu Israa'iil iyo raggii reer Yahuudah kaceen oo qayliyeen oo waxay eryadeen reer Falastiin, tan iyo dooxadii iyo ilaa irdaha Ceqroon. Oo dhaawicii reer Falastiinna waxay ku dhaceen jidka Shacarayim, iyo tan iyo Gad iyo ilaa Ceqroon.
And the men of Israel and Iudah arose, and shouted, and followed after the Philistims, vntill they came to the valley, and vnto the gates of Ekron: and the Philistims fell downe wounded by the way of Shaaraim, euen to Gath and to Ekron.
53 Oo reer binu Israa'iilna way ka noqdeen reer Falastiinkii ay eryanayeen, oo xeradoodiina way dhaceen.
And the children of Israel returned from pursuing the Philistims, and spoyled their tents.
54 Markaasaa Daa'uud madaxii kii reer Falastiin qaaday, oo Yeruusaalem keenay, laakiinse hubkiisii teendhadiisuu dhigay.
And Dauid tooke the head of ye Philistim, and brought it to Ierusalem, and put his armour in his tent.
55 Oo Saa'uulna markuu arkay Daa'uud oo u baxaya kii reer Falastiin ayuu Abneer oo ahaa sirkaalkii ciidanka ku yidhi, Abneer, yarkanu waa ina ayo? Oo Abneerna wuxuu ku yidhi, Boqorow, noloshaadaan ku dhaartaye, kuuma sheegi karo.
When Saul sawe Dauid go forth against the Philistim, he sayd vnto Abner the captaine of his hoste, Abner, whose sonne is this yong man? and Abner answered, As thy soule liueth, O King, I can not tell.
56 Markaasaa boqorkii wuxuu ku yidhi, Soo haybso yarka ina ayihiisa.
Then the King sayde, Enquire thou whose sonne this yong man is.
57 Oo markii Daa'uud ka soo noqday diliddii kii reer Falastiin ayaa Abneer kexeeyey oo Saa'uul hor keenay isagoo gacanta ku wata madaxii kii reer Falastiin.
And when Dauid was returned from the slaughter of the Philistim, then Abner tooke him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistim in his hand.
58 Markaasaa Saa'uul ku yidhi, Inanyahow, ina ayaad tahay? Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu ugu jawaabay, Waxaan ahay wiilkii addoonkaaga Yesay ee reer Beytlaxam.
And Saul sayde to him, Whose sonne art thou, thou yong man? And Dauid answered, I am the sonne of thy seruant Ishai the Bethlehemite.
