2 Markaasaa Daa'uud yidhi, Waa inaan ninna qaadin sanduuqa Ilaah reer Laawi mooyaane, waayo, Rabbigu iyaguu u doortay inay qaadaan sanduuqa Ilaah, iyo inay isaga u adeegaan weligood.
He said, “Only the descendants of Levi are permitted to carry God’s Sacred Chest, because they are the ones whom God chose to carry it and to serve him forever.”

He summoned the descendants of Aaron, [who was the first Supreme Priest, ] and the other descendants of Levi.
5 Kuwii reer Qohaad waxay ahaayeen Uurii'eel oo madax ahaa, iyo walaalihiis oo ahaa boqol iyo labaatan nin,

And there were 112 people from Uzziel’s clan who came, with Amminadab their leader.

12 oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Idinku waxaad tihiin madaxdii qolooyinka reer Laawi, haddaba idinka iyo walaalihiinba isdaahiriya si aad sanduuqii Rabbiga ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil ugu soo qaaddaan meeshii aan u hagaajiyey.
David said to them, “You are the leaders of the clans descended from Levi. You and the other descendants of Levi must purify yourselves, in order to [be able to do this special work for Yahweh. You must] bring the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israelis, up to the place that I have made for it [here in Jerusalem].
13 Maxaa yeelay, indinku markii hore ma aydnaan qaadin, oo sidaas daraaddeed ayaa Rabbiga Ilaaheenna ahu degdeg inoogu qabtay, waayo, sidii qaynuunku ahaa wax kuma aynan weyddiin.
The first time that we tried to bring it, we did not ask Yahweh how we should carry it {it should be carried}. You [descendants of Levi] were not the ones who carried it, so Yahweh our God punished us.”
14 Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed ayaa wadaaddadii iyo kuwii reer Laawi isdaahiriyeen inay soo qaadaan sanduuqii Rabbiga ah Ilaaha reer binu Israa'iil.
Then the priests and the [other] descendants of Levi [performed the rituals to] purify themselves, in order that it would be proper for them to do the work of carrying the Sacred Chest of Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people.
15 Markaasaa reer Laawi garbaha ku qaadeen sanduuqii Ilaah iyagoo ulihiisii ku sida, sidii Muuse amray oo uu eraygii Rabbigu ahaa.
The descendants of Levi [inserted] the poles [into the rings on] the Sacred Chest so that with them, they could carry the Sacred Chest on their shoulders, like Moses had commanded, and like Yahweh had said that they should.
16 Markaasaa Daa'uud madaxdii reer Laawi ku yidhi, Walaalihiin rag ka dhex doorta inay ahaadaan niman gabayaa ah oo sita alaabtii muusikada, oo ah shareerado, iyo kataarado, iyo suxuun laysku garaaco, oo aad ha uga dhawaajiyeen oo farxad aawadeed codka kor ha u qaadeen.
David told the leaders of the descendants of Levi to appoint some of their relatives to sing joyful songs and play lyres, harps, and cymbals [while they were carrying the Sacred Chest].
17 Sidaas daraaddeed reer Laawi waxay doorteen Heemaan oo ahaa ina Yoo'eel iyo walaalihiis oo ahaa Aasaaf ina Berekyaah, oo walaalahood reer Meraariina waxay ka doorteen Eetaan ina Quushaayaah,
So they appointed Heman and his relatives Asaph and Ethan. Heman was the son of Joel; Asaph was the son of Berekiah. Ethan, a descendant of Merari, was Kushaiah’s son.
18 oo iyaga waxaa la jiray walaalahood oo ahaa darajadii labaad, waxayna ahaayeen Sekaryaah, iyo Been, iyo Yacasii'eel, iyo Shemiiraamood, iyo Yexii'eel, iyo Cunnii, iyo Elii'aab, iyo Benaayaah, iyo Macaseeyaah, iyo Matityaah, iyo Eliifeleehuu, iyo Miqneeyaah, iyo Cobeed Edoom, iyo Yecii'eel oo dhammaantood wada ahaa iridjoogayaal.
There was also another group of descendants of Levi who were appointed: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and two of the Sacred Tent gatekeepers, Obed-Edom and Jeiel.
19 Sidaas daraaddeed kuwii gabayaagii ahaa oo ahaa Heemaan, iyo Aasaaf, iyo Eetaan waxay siteen suxuun naxaas ah oo laysku garaaco si ay aad ugaga dhawaajiyaan,
Heman, Asaph and Ethan sang, and also played bronze cymbals.
20 oo Sekaryaah, iyo Casii'eel, iyo Shemiiraamood iyo Yexii'eel, iyo Cunnii, iyo Elii'aab, iyo Macaseeyaah, iyo Benaayaahna waxay siteen shareerado si ay ugu dhuftaan wax Calaamood lagu luuqeeyo,
Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played lyres.
21 oo Matityaah, iyo Eliifeleehuu, iyo Miqneeyaah, iyo Cobeed Edoom, iyo Yecii'eel, iyo Casasyaahna waxay siteen kataarado ay ku hoggaamiyaan wax Shemiiniid lagu luuqeeyo.
Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel and Azaziah played harps.
22 Oo Kenanyaah oo madax u ahaa reer Laawina wuxuu u sarreeyey gabaygii, oo isagu wuxuu dadkii wax ka baray gabaygii, maxaa yeelay, aad buu u yiqiin.
Kenaniah, the leader of the descendants of Levi, directed the singing because he was very skilled at doing that.
23 Oo Berekyaah iyo Elqaanaahna waxay iridjoogayaal u ahaayeen sanduuqii.
Berekiah and Elkanah were two of the men who guarded the Sacred Chest.
24 Oo wadaaddadii ahaa Shebanyaah, iyo Yehooshaafaad, iyo Netaneel, iyo Camaasay, iyo Sekaryaah, iyo Benaayaah, iyo Eliiceserna turumbooyin ayay ku hor afuufayeen sanduuqii Ilaah, oo Cobeed Edoom iyo Yexiyaahna iridjoogayaal ayay sanduuqii u ahaayeen.
The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer were appointed to blow trumpets in front of the Sacred Chest. Obed-Edom and Jehiah also guarded the Sacred Chest.
25 Sidaas daraaddeed Daa'uud iyo odayaashii reer binu Israa'iil iyo kuwii kun kun u taliyeyba waxay u tageen inay sanduuqii axdiga Rabbiga ka soo qaadaan gurigii Cobeed Edoom iyagoo faraxsan.
David and the Israeli leaders and the officers who commanded 1,000 soldiers went to bring the Sacred Chest back from Obed-Edom’s house. They were very joyful as they brought it to Jerusalem.
26 Oo markii Ilaah caawiyey kuwii reer Laawi oo qaaday sanduuqii axdiga Rabbiga ayay toddoba dibi iyo toddoba wan ku allabaryeen.
God helped the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest of Yahweh; therefore David and the leaders sacrificed seven bulls and seven (rams/male sheep) [to thank him].
27 Oo Daa'uudna wuxuu xidhnaa dhar aad u wanaagsan, isaga iyo kuwii reer Laawi oo sanduuqa qaaday oo dhan, iyo nimankii gabayaaga ahaa, iyo Kenanyaah oo ahaa madaxdii gabayga oo la jiray nimankii gabayaaga ahaa, oo Daa'uudna wuxuu qabay eefod maro wanaagsan ah.
All the descendants of Levi who carried the Sacred Chest, all the singers, and Kenaniah, the man who directed those who sang, wore robes of fine white linen and sacred vests made of fine linen. David also wore a sacred vest made of white linen.
28 Haddaba reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammu saasay u soo qaadeen sanduuqii axdiga Rabbiga iyagoo dhawaaqaya, oo afuufaya buun iyo turumbooyin, oo ka dhawaajinaya suxuun laysku garaaco, iyo shareerado iyo kataarado.
So all of the Israeli people joined in bringing the Sacred Chest up [to Jerusalem]. They shouted [joyfully, while the musicians] blew horns and trumpets, and played cymbals, lyres, and harps.
29 Oo markii sanduuqii axdiga Rabbigu uu magaaladii Daa'uud imanayay ayay Miikaal oo ahayd ina Saa'uul daaqadda ka eegtay, oo kolkay aragtay Boqor Daa'uud oo cayaaraya ayay qalbiga ka quudhsatay.
While they were bringing the Sacred Chest into Jerusalem, Saul’s daughter Michal watched them, looking out of a window. When she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him.
