1 Mpopalapita masuba asanu, mukulene wa beshimilumbo Hananiya, pamo ne bamakulene Baciyuda, ne nkalakata ya milawo walikukwiweti Tetalasi, balaya ku Kaisaleya. Mpobalashika kuli Mwendeleshi Felekisi, balamubepesha Paulo.
And after five days Ananias the high priest with certain elders, and a certain orator Tertyllus, came down, who appeared before the governor against Paul.
2 Mpobalamukuwa Paulo, Tetalasi walatatika kumubepesheti, “Omwalemekwa! Butangunishi bwenu bwa mano ebulalete lumuno kwacindi citali mubwikalo bwetu, kayi ni bintu bingi bilenshikinga kusumpula cishi cetu.
And he having been called, Tertyllus began to accuse him, saying,
3 Ibi bintu tulabitambulunga ne makasa abili kuli konse pacindi conse, neco tulamulumbunga.
Receiving great peace through thee, and prosperity accruing to this nation through thy wisdom, we receive with all gratitude, both always, and everywhere, O most noble Felix.
4 Nsombi nkansuni kumutaila cindi sobwe, ndamusengengeti mubombe moyo, kayi munkututikishe pa makani ang'ana awa ngotulambanga.
But in order that I may not weary you excessively, I exhort you to hear us patiently according to your clemency.
5 Twacaneti muntuyu wapensha. Ni shikuleta mipyopyongano pakati pa Bayuda ne mucishi conse capanshi. Kayi ni mutangunishi wa likoto likute kukwiweti, ‘Banasaleti.’
For having found this man pestilential, and stirring up seditions to all the Jews who are throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
6 Kayi wayandanga kusafwanya Ng'anda ya Lesa, neco twalamwikata. Twali kuyanda kumombolosha kwelana ne Milawo yetu.
who also endeavored to pollute the temple: whom we indeed arrested,
7 Nomba mukulene wa bashilikali bonse Lisiyasi, walesa ne kwisa kumufunya mwangofu mu makasa etu.
8 Kufumapo, Lisiyasi, walambeti beshikumupa milandu bonse, belela kwisa kuli njamwe. Na mu mwipushe muntuyu ngamulinyumfwila mobeneti milandu yonse njotulambanga ni mucaneti ni yakubinga.”
with whom you yourself, having made inquiry, are able to know concerning all these things of which we accuse him.
9 Nabo Bayuda balasuminisheti mbyalambanga ni bya kubinga.
And the Jews were consenting, saying, Truly these things are so.
10 Mwendeleshi Felekisi, walamucebula Paulo ne cikasa kwambeti ambepo, Paulo walambeti, “Ndicinsheti mwalatatika kaindi kombolosha bantu bamucishici, neco ndakondwa kulifuna pamenso penu.
And Paul responded, the governor beckoning to him to speak; Knowing you to be a judge to this nation from many years, I cheerfully apologize as to the things concerning myself:
11 Inga mulicanina mobene kwambeti palapiti masubowa likumi ne abili, mpondalaya ku Yelusalemu kuya kukambilila Lesa.
you being able to know, that there are not more than twelve days to me since I came up to Jerusalem to worship.
12 Bayuda aba baliya kuncana mu Ng'anda ya Lesa kantotekeshana ne bantu. Ndiyawa kuletapo mipyopyongano mu manda abo akupaililamo, nambi mu munshi wa Yelusalemu.
Neither did they find me in the temple disputing with any one, or causing an excitement of the multitude, neither in the synagogues, nor throughout the city:
13 Nkabelela kucikonsha kumulesheti byonse mbyobalambepeshenga ni bya kubinga sobwe.”
neither are they able to prove before you the things which they are now accusing me.
14 “Nsombi ncondasumininga ni kwambeti, ame nkute kukambilila Lesa uyo ngobali kukambilila bamashali betu bakulukulu, kwelana ne ‘Nshila iyo njobalambangeti niya bwepeshi.’ Ndashoma byonse byalembwa mu Milawo ya Mose, kayi ne byalembwa mu mabuku abashinshimi bakulukulu.
But I confess this to you, that according to the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of our fathers, believing all things which have been written in the law and in the prophets:
15 Ndapembelelenga muli Lesa, mbuli aba naboyo ncobalapembelelenga, kwambeti bantu bonse balenshinga byaina, ne balenshinga byaipa ni bakapunduke kubafu.
having hope towards God, which they themselves also receive, that there is going to be a resurrection, both of the just and unjust.
16 Ecebo cakendi ndelekeshenga ne ngofu kwikala buyumi bwaina pamenso a Lesa ne bantu.”
In this I also exercise, to always have a conscience void of offense toward God and men.
17 “Palapiti myaka ingi mpondalafuma mu Yelusalemu, ndabwelelowa linolino kuleta bipo bya mali kuli Bayuda baname bakandu, kayi ndaleta milumbo naimbi ya kubenga kuli Lesa.
And after many years I came to do alms and offerings to my race;
18 Mpondalikwinseco, empobalancana mu Ng'anda ya Lesa kandi ndapwishi kuliswepesha kwelana ne Milawo ya Mose. Nkandalikubapo ne likoto lya bantu kayi nkapalikubapo mipyopyongano sobwe.
in which they found me having been purified in the temple, not with rabble, nor with an uproar; and were certain Jews from Asia,
19 Nsombi palikuba Bayuda nabambi baku Asiya, abo banga belela kubapo pano pamenso penu kwambeti bampe mulandu.
whom it behooves to be present before me, and accuse me, if they should have anything against me.
20 Mpani nabo aba balipo ngabamwambila na pali mulandu ngobalancana nawo beshinkuta babo mpobalang'ombolosha.
Or let them tell what injustice they found, while I was standing before the sanhedrim,
21 Nsombi, pali cintu cimo ncondalamba mpondalemana pantangu pabo, ndalambeti, ndomboloshewanga ne njamwe lelo cebo cakushometi bafwa ni bakapundushiwe.”
except concerning this one voice, which I cried out standing in their midst, that concerning the resurrection of the dead I am judged before you this day.
22 Popelapo Mwendeleshi Felekisi, walatuntulusha busuba bwakombolosha mulandu wabo, pakwinga walikwinshiba cena makani a Nshila ya Mwami Yesu. Walabambileti, “Ninkapingule mulandu wenu akesa Lisiyasi mukulene wa bashilikali bonse.”
And Felix having learned more thoroughly the things concerning the way, deferred them, saying, When Lysias the chiliarch may come down, I will diagnose the things appertaining to you:
23 Walambila mukulene wa bashilikali mwanda, kwambeti amulonde Paulo, kayi amupengonga cindi ca kulikalila mwine, ne kusuminisha banendi kumuletelako bintu bilayandikinga pali endiye.
having commanded the centurion to keep him, and let him have liberty, and prohibit no one of his friends from ministering unto him.
24 Mpopalapitako masuba ang'ana, Felekisi ne Dulusila mukashendi Muyuda, walesa. Walatuma muntu kuya kumukuwa Paulo, balanyumfwishisha ncalikwamba Paulo sha lushomo muli Klistu Yesu.
And after certain day, Felix with Drusilla his wife, being a Jewess, coming, sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith which is towards Christ Jesus.
25 Lino cindi Paulo ncalikwamba sha bululami, ne sha kulilama kayi ne sha busuba Lesa mbweshakomboloshe bantu, Felekisi walatina. Popelapo walamwambila Paulo, “Pacino cindi koya, ndabona cindi ni nkukuwe kayi.”
And he reasoning concerning righteousness and temperance and the coming judgment, Felix, being alarmed, responded, Go thy way for this time; and having received an opportunity, I will call for thee:
26 Felekisi walikuyanda kupewako mali acishinkamulomo kufuma kuli Paulo. Ecebo cakendi wali kumukuwakuwa.
at the same time also hoping that money will be given to him by Paul; therefore indeed the more frequently sending for him, he conversed with him.
27 Lino mpopalapita byaka bibili, Polokiyo Fesito, walapyana Felekisi pacipuna ca bwendeleshi. Pakuyanda kubakondwelesha Bayuda, Felekisi walamushiya Paulo mujele.
But two years having passed away Felix received Porcius Festus as his successor: and Felix, wishing to confer on the Jews a favor, left Paul bound.
