1 Lino mobanse nkacayandika kwambeti tumulembele shacindi nambi bushiku mposhi bikenshike ibi bintu.
But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
2 Pakwinga amwe mobene mucinshi kendi kwambeti bushiku bwakwisa kwa Mwami Yesu nibukese eti kabwalala ncakute kwisa mashiku.
For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
3 Bantu bonse bakatatika kwambeti, “Palaba lumuno bintu byonse bilaba cena,” Popelapo mwakutayeyela ceshikubashina nicikashike mwakutilimusha, mbuli kubaba kwa mapensho akute kushikila mutukashi ulipepi kupulukamo. Cakubinga kuliyawa naba umo eshakafwambe.
For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.
4 Nomba amwe mobanse, nkamulipo mumushinshe, kwambeti ubo busuba bukamutilimushe mwakutayeyela mbuli kabwalala.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
5 Pakwinga mwense muli mumumuni, kayi ne munshi uli nenjamwe. Nkatulipo mumashiku nambi mumushinshe sobwe.
You are all children of light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night, nor to darkness,
6 Neco katutona tulo mbuli bantu nabambi ncebabele, nsombi twelela kuba babangamana, katutaba bakolewa sobwe.
so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
7 Pakwinga bantu bakute kona mashiku, kayi bakute kukolewa cindi camashiku.
For those who sleep, sleep in the night; and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
8 Nomba afwe njafwe bantu beshikwinsa bintu bya mumuni, neco katutakolewanga. Twelela kufwala lushomo ne lusuno kubeti cakufwala ca nshimbi ceshikucinjilisha ntiti, kayi kupembelela kwetu kubeti cishoti ceshikunjilisha ku mutwi cakwambeti nitukapuluke.
But since we belong to the day, let’s be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 Pakwinga Lesa nkatukwila kwisa kupenshewa cebo ca bukalu bwakendi, nsombi kwambeti tutambule lupulusho kupitila muli Yesu Klistu.
For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Uyo walatufwila kwambeti kwikale nebuyumi pamo nendiye, twacibanga bayumi nambi tufwa.
who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Neco mulayandikinga kuyuminishanya kayi ne kunyamfwilishana mbuli ncomulenshinga.
Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
12 Tulamusengenga mobanse, kwambeti mubapenga bulemu abo balamutangunininga nekumulesha ncomwela kwinsa pakati penu mubuyumi bwacklistulistu.
But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
13 Mubape bulemu ne lusuno lwenu pacebo ca ncito njobalenshinga. Kayi mwikalenga mulumuno pakati penu.
and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Tulamusengenga kayi mobanse kwambeti mubacenjeshe batolo. Bayuminisheni bayowa ne balefuka kayi ne bantu bonse mwakwikalika moyo.
We exhort you, brothers: Admonish the disorderly; encourage the faint-hearted; support the weak; be patient toward all.
15 Kamutasumisha muntu kubweshela caipa pa caipa, nsombi cindi conse bayandishishenga kwinshilana bintu byaina palwenu kayi neku bantu bonse.
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
16 Kondwani masuba onse,
Always rejoice.
17 kamupailani kuli Lesa cindi conse,
Pray without ceasing.
18 Cindi conse kamulumbanga Lesa, pakwinga encakute kuyanda kwambeti mwinse cebo cakwambeti mwekatana ne Yesu Klistu.
In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
19 Kamutaukanishanga Mushimu uswepa,
Do not quench the Spirit.
20 kamutesebanya mulimo wa bushi shinshimi.
Do not despise prophecies.
21 Lino byelekesheni bintu byonse, kwambeti mubishibe na nibyancinencine. Amwe mumantepo byaina,
Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
22 nekukana bwipishi buli bonse.
Abstain from every form of evil.
23 Lino Lesa uyo latwikalikinga mulumuno, amuswepeshe munshila iliyonse. Amubambe cena mu mano asulila, mumoyo ne mumubili, kwambeti mukacanike babula bulema akesanga Mwami wetu Yesu Klistu.
May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Uyo walamukuwa washomeka, kayi nakamwinshile bintu ibi.
He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
25 Mobanse kamutupaililangonga.
Brothers, pray for us.
26 Mubape mitende banse bonse.
Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27 Lino ndamwabilinga kupitila mungofu sha Mwami kwambeti mubelenge kalata iyi kuli banenu bonse bashoma.
I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
28 Luse lwa Mwami Yesu Klistu lube nenjamwe.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
