1 Ecebo cakendi tayani byaipa byonse, kubepa, kulibonesha, ne munyono kayi ne minyansho.
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,

as newborn babies, long for the pure spiritual milk, that with it you may grow,
3 Mbuli Mabala ncalambangeti, “Mulatelele nkumbo sha Mwami.”
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 Lino kamwisani kuli Mwami, libwe lyabuyumi ndyobalakana bantu, nsombi Lesa walalisala kuba lya mulo wadula.
Come to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
5 Kamwisani mube mabwe abuyumi ngoti asebenseshe Lesa kwibaka ng'anda yakendi, umo mweti musebenselengeti beshimilumbo baswepa balatwalanga milumbo njalayandanga Lesa kupitila muli Yesu Klistu.
You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Pakwinga mu Mabala mwalembweti, “Ndasala libwe lya mulo wadula. Ndalibiki kuba libwe lyankokola yang'anda mu Siyoni. Waushoma nteti akanyufwe nsoni.”
Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen and precious. He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
7 Lino kuli omwashoma, nendi ni wamulo wadula. Nomba kuli babula lushomo, maswi a Lesa alambangeti, “Libwe beshikwibaka ng'anda ndyobalakana, elyalasanduka kuba libwe lyankokola yang'anda.”
For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,”
8 Kayi maswi a Lesa alambangeti, “Lyopeleli e libwe lyeti bakalipuntengaponga bantu, libwe lyacandanshi, lyeti likabawishenga bantu.” Ee balalipuntunga pakwinga balakananga maswi a Lesa, kayi ici ecalikuyandika kulyendibo.
and, “a stumbling stone and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.
9 Nomba njamwe mukowa wasalwa, beshimilumbo bacami, mushobo waswepa, bantu bakendi Lesa. Walamusala kwambeti mukakambauke ncito sha ngofu sha uyo walamukuweti mufume mumushinshe kuya kwingila mukumunika kwakendi kwakankamanisha.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
10 Kaindi nkamwalikuba bantu bakendi Lesa, nsombi lino njamwe bakendi. Kaindi nkamwalikwishiba sha Lesa, nomba lino mulatambulu nkumbo shakendi.
In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
11 Mobanse bame, pakwinga njamwe bensu mucishici, ndamusengenga kamutakonkelanga lunkumbwa lwa mibili lukute kulwana nkondo ne buyumi bwenu bwa kumushimu.

having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Cebo ca Mwami Lesa, nyumfwilani bamakulene bakute ngofu shabwendeleshi. Mbuli usa Mwami mukulene ukute ngofu shinene shabwendeleshi munyumfwileni, pakwinga ukute bwendeleshi pa bami nabambi bonse,
Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme,
14 na nibendeleshi mbwalasala, naboyo banyumfwileni pakwinga walabatuma kwambeti bapenga cisubulo beshikwinsa byaipa, kayi kulumba abo balenshinga byaina.
or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.
15 Pakwinga Lesa layandangeti mupwishe kwamba kwabuluya kwa bantu kupitila mu bintu byaina mbyomulenshinga.
For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.
16 Ee, kamubani basunguluka, nsombi kusunguluka kwenu kakutabanga kwakufwekelela byaipa, nsombi kamwikalani eti basebenshi ba Lesa.
Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
17 Kamulemekanga bantu bonse. Sunani baklistu banenu. Tinani Lesa, kayi neye mwami mukulene usa mumupe bulemu.
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
18 Amwe basebenshi, nyumfwilani nekupa bulemu abo bamwingisha ncito, nteko kuli baina moyo bonka sobwe, nsombi nekuli balukanda bonse.
Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
19 Ni cintu caina ulimbikilowa mubyeshikubaba byabula kumwelela pakwinga Lesa nakamupe colwe.
For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
20 Niciyani ncondelela kumulumba na balamumunga cebo ca mulandu ngomwensa? Nsombi na mulimbikilowa cebo cakwinsa byaina, ekwambeti mulenshi cintu casuminishiwa ne Lesa.
For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
21 Bwikalo bulicisa embwalamukuwila Lesa, ntepasa neye Klistu walanyumfwa byeshikubaba cebo canjamwe, nekumushiyila cilesho kwambeti mukonkelenga myendo yakendi.
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
22 Liya kwinsapo bwipishi bulibonse, kayi liya kwambapo byabwepeshi sobwe.
who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
23 Mpobalikumutukana liya kubweshela matuka. Mpwalikupenshewa liya kubayoshapo, nsombi byonse walabibika mumakasa a Lesa, momboloshi walulama.
When he was cursed, he did not curse back. When he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
24 Klistu walalitwika bwipishi bwetu bonse mumubili wakendi palusanda, kwambeti tuleke kwipisha mubuyumi bwetu, nomba pakukonkela bululami tube bayumi. Mwalasengulwa ne mibata yakendi.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.
25 Mwalikubeti mbelele shataika, nomba lino mulabwelele kuli mwembeshi lamwembelenga ne kumulanga cena.
For you were going astray like sheep; but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
