1 Tulamulembelenga sha liswi lyeshikupa buyumi. Pakutatika twalalinyumfwa ne kulibona ne menso etu. Nicakubinga twalalibona kayi twalalikata ne makasa etu.
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled concerning the Word of life;
2 Buyumi ubu mpobwalabonekela, twalabubona, weco tulamwinshibishinga ne kumusansulwila sha buyumi butapu bwalikuba ne Bata kayi bwalabonekela kulinjafwe. (aiōnios g166)
(the life also was manifested, and we have seen, and do testify, and declare to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us; ) (aiōnios g166)
3 Ico ncotwalabona nekunyumfwa encotulamukambaukilinga kwambeti nenjamwe mube kulubasu lwetu mbuli bana ba Lesa kayi ne mwanendi Yesu Klistu.
that which we have seen and heard, we declare it to you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 Tulamulembelenga makani awa kwambeti kusangalala kwetu kube kwancine ncine.
And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.
5 Lino mulumbe ngotwalanyumfwa kumwanendi ne kumukambaukila niwakwambeti Lesa emumuni kayi kuliyawa mushinshe muli endiye.
And this is the message that we heard from him, and do declare to you: that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

7 Lino na tulekalanga mu mumuni mbuli endiye ncali mu mumuni ekwambeti tuli pamo nendiye kayi ne milopa ya Yesu mwanendi ikute kutuswepesha kubwipishi.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 Lino na tulambangeti tuliya bwipishi, tulalibepenga tobene kayi tuliya cakubinga.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 Nsombi natulambeti toba bwipishi, Lesa washomeka kayi walulama, ngautulekelela bwipishi bwetu ne kutufunya ku bwipishi bulibonse.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
