< 1 Bakolinto 14 >

1 Kamucinkani manungo mukuba ne lusuno, kayi mubike moyo pa bipo bya Mushimu Uswepa makamaka pa cipo ca kushinshima.
Earnestly pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
2 Abo beshikwamba mu milaka itanyumfwiki nkabakute kwamba kubantu, nsombi balo bakute kwamba ne Lesa pakwinga paliya muntu ukute kunyumfwa nambi kwinshiba ncobalambanga. Ngofu ya Mushimu Uswepa eikute kuyubulula byasolekwa.
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries in the Spirit.
3 Nsombi neye lambanga mulumbe wa Lesa ukute kwambila bantu eti bantu bayuminishishiwe ne kubakondwelesha.
But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement, and comfort.
4 Abo bakute kwamba mu milaka yabula kwishibikwa bakute kulinyamfwa bene, nomba balo bakute kwamba mulumbe wa Lesa bakute kunyamfwa mubungano wa bantu ba Lesa.
The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.
5 Ingankondwa kwambeti mwense ngamuba necipo cakwamba milaka yabula kwishibikwa, nomba ncondayandishishinga nicakwambeti mwense mube necipo cakwamba mulumbe wa Lesa. Pakwinga muntu lambanga mulumbe wa Lesa wapita muntu lambanga mumilaka yabula kwishibikwa pabula muntu naumbi lasansululunga ncalambanga kwambeti mubungano wa bantu ba Lesa unyamfwiwe.
I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be edified.
6 Nomba lino mobanse bame, nilunyamfo cini ndwenga mucana na ame ndesa uko ntatika kwamba mumilaka njomuteshi? Paliya lunyamfo ndomwela kucanapo sobwe, nsombi nandamuletele bintu ibyo Lesa mbyalayubululu nambi bishi kupa lwinshibo, Lesa mbyalampeti ndibyambe nambi ciyisho cimbi.
Now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching?
7 Nicimo cimo bintu byabula buyumi mbuli kankobele nambi kalumbu muntu nkalalilishinga na ubula kupusanya ndilishilo, inga lanyumfunga ngawishibeconi lwimbo lulembilwanga?
Even in the case of lifeless instruments, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone recognize the tune they are playing unless the notes are distinct?
8 Na lalilishinga tolompita ubula kulilisha maswi eshikunyumfwika cena, niyani wela kulibambila kulwana nkondo?
Again, if the trumpet sounds a muffled call, who will prepare for battle?
9 Ni cimo cimo ne njamwe, ni muntu cini wela kunyumfwa ncomulambanga na nkamulambanga maswi alanyumfwikinga cena, maswi enu nakengangowa mulukupwe.
So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
10 Mwakubula kutonshanya sobwe, pali milaka ingi pacishi capanshi, nikukabeco mulaka uliwonse ukute ncolapandululunga.
Assuredly, there are many different languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning.
11 Na kantawishi mulaka ngwalambanga uyo lawambanga, kwakame nimwensu kuli njame, nenjame ndemwensu kulyendiye lambanga.
If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me.
12 Nomba pakwinga mulayandishishinga bipo bya Mushimu Uswepa elekeshani kubisebensesha, makamaka bipo bishi kuyuminisha mubungano.
It is the same with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, strive to excel in gifts that build up the church.
13 Ecebo cakendi muntu lambanga mu mulaka wabula kwishibikwa apaile kwambeti, apewe cipo ca kusansulula mulaka ngwalambanga.
Therefore, the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret.
14 Na ndapailinga mu mulaka wabula kwishibikwa, Ee mushimu wakame ulapailinga, nomba mano akame paliya ncalenshinga.
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
15 Na ncecibeleco, inga ninyinseconi? Lino nimpaile ne kwimbila ne mano akame.
What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.
16 Na kamulumba Lesa ne mushimu wenu wonka, inga muntu ngomuli nendi utacishi cili mu mushimu wenu ngawambeconi eti, “Amen” Ku mupailo wenu wa kulumbaisha Lesa kakuli nkacishi ncomwambanga.
Otherwise, if you speak a blessing in spirit, how can someone who is uninstructed say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?
17 Nambi mupailo wenu kuli Lesa kauli waina nomba bantu nabambi nkacela kubanyamfwa sobwe.
You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other one is not edified.
18 Ndalumbunga Lesa pa kumpa kwinshiba kwamba milaka ingi kupita amwe.
I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.
19 Neco, ningasalapo kwamba maswi asanu alanyumfwikinga cena kwambeti njiyishe bantu mu mubungano wa bantu ba Lesa kupita kwamba maswi angi mumulaka wabula kwishibikwa, ici ngaciba cena.
But in the church, I would rather speak five coherent words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 Mobanse bame, kamutayeyangeti batwanike. Ee pa bintu byaipa kamubani eti batwanike batacishi caipa, nomba mukuyeya kamubani bamakulene.
Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.
21 Mu Mabala a Lesa mwalembwa maswi alambangeti “Ninkambe ku mushobo uwu kupitila mu bantu beshikwamba milaka yabula kwishibikwa, Kayi ne pa milomo ya bantu bensu. Nikukabeco, nteti bakanyumfwile ncalambanga Lesa wa Ngofu shonse.”
It is written in the Law: “By strange tongues and foreign lips I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to Me, says the Lord.”
22 Neco kwamba mu milaka yabula kwishibikwa bakute kukushoma ni bantu babula lushomo, ntebo bakute lushomo sobwe. Kukambauka Maswi a Lesa bakute kukushoma ni bantu bakute lushomo, ntebo babula lushomo sobwe.
Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.
23 Na bantu bonse babungana pamo mu mubungano batatika kwamba mu milaka yabula kwishibikwa, nomba bantu bensu kayi nambi bantu abo babula lushomo, sena nkabela kwambeti mulakonyo?
So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who are uninstructed or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?
24 Nomba na mwense kamushinshima muntu wabula lushomo nambi utacishi wingilamo nakanyumfwishishe maswi kayi nakamwikate nekwinshiba bwipishi bwakendi, kayi nakamubeteke maswi opelawo ngalanyumfu.
But if an unbeliever or uninstructed person comes in while everyone is prophesying, he will be convicted and called to account by all,
25 Mulumbe wa Lesa nukalete patuba byonse byasolekwa mu moyo wakendi, nakasuntame ne kulumbaisha Lesa ne kusuminisheti Lesa mpwali pakati penu.
and the secrets of his heart will be made known. So he will fall facedown and worship God, proclaiming, “God is truly among you!”
26 Mobanse bame, ncendapandululunga nici, mwabungananga pamo pa kupaila, muntu naumbi inga kakute lwimbo, naumbi ciyisho cakwambeti ayishe, naumbi inga kakute kantu nkalamuyubulwili Lesa. Naumbi inga kakute maswi akwamba mu mulaka wabula kwishibikwa, naumbi inga kacikonsha kupandulula maswi awo alambwanga.
What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.
27 Kapataba bantu beshikwamba milaka yabula kwishibikwa mwabungananga pamo bapitilila pababili nambi batatu pacindi cimo sobwe. Kamupananga cindi cakwamba kayi pabe muntu lapandululunga cilambwanga.
If anyone speaks in a tongue, two, or at most three, should speak in turn, and someone must interpret.
28 Na paliya lapandululunga, uyo lambanga amwene tonto ambenga mwine mu moyo wakendi Lesa nanyumfwenga.
But if there is no interpreter, he should remain silent in the church and speak only to himself and God.
29 Kakuba bantu babili nambi batatu abo Lesa mbwalapa mulumbe wakwamba nabambi babetekenga bintu mbyobalambanga.
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.
30 Nomba na uyo wekala mu mubungano latambulu mulumbe kufuma kuli Lesa uyo wambanga acileke.
And if a revelation comes to someone who is seated, the first speaker should stop.
31 Mwense ninga mwamba mulumbe wa Lesa na kamwambapo umo ne umo, kwambeti mwense mwiye kayi muyuminishiwe.
For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.
32 Kayi bipo bya kwamba mulumbe wa Lesa byelela kwendeleshewa ne bashinshimi.
The spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.
33 Pakwinga Lesa nte Lesa wa minyungwe sobwe, nsombi niwa lumuno. Kwelana mbuli cilenshikinga mu mibungano ya bantu ba Lesa yonse ya bantu baswepa,
For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace—as in all the churches of the saints.
34 batukashi babenga bamwena mumibungano yabantu ba Lesa, pakwinga nkabelela kupewa cipuna ca ncito mu mibungano ya bantu ba Lesa, neco babenga balibombelesha cabulemu, mbuli milawo ya Mose ncoilambanga.
Women are to be silent in the churches. They are not permitted to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.
35 Na kabayanda kunyumfwishisha cena, caina kwambeti benga kwipusha balume babo kung'anda, pakwinga cikute kupa nsoni mutukashi kwambapo mumubungano.
If they wish to inquire about something, they are to ask their own husbands at home; for it is dishonorable for a woman to speak in the church.
36 Sena Maswi a Lesa alafumina kuli njamwe, nambi alashika kulinjamwe mwenka?
Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only ones it has reached?
37 Na pali muntu layeyengeti ni mushinshimi, nambi kwambeti ukute cipo ca Mushimu Uswepa, asumine bintu ibi mbyondamulembele, pakwinga endibyo Mulawo wa Mwami.
If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is the Lord’s command.
38 Nomba na pali muntu utasuni kushako mano, Lesa nendi nakamusule.
But if anyone ignores this, he himself will be ignored.
39 Neco mobanse bame, kamulangaulani mulumbe ulafumunga kuli Lesa mwabuya, kamutakanishanga abo bashoma kwambeti kabatambanga mu milaka yabula kwinshibika.
So, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
40 Cilayandikinga nicakwambeti bintu binshikenga munshila yelela kayi yalumbuluka.
But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.
