Psalmi 97

1 Gospod kraljuje, radúj se zemlja, veselé se naj pokrajine premnoge.

YHWH reigns. Let the earth rejoice. Let the multitude of islands be glad.

2 Oblaki in temà ga obdajajo; pravica in sodba kraj njegovega prestola.

Clouds and darkness are around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3 Ogenj hodi pred njim in požiga okrog sovražnike njegove.

A fire goes before him, and burns up his adversaries on every side.

4 Bliski razsvetljujejo vesoljni svet njegov, vidi in trese se zemlja.

His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles.

5 Goré se topé kakor vosek vpričo Gospoda, vpričo vse zemlje gospodarja.

The mountains melt like wax at the presence of YHWH, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6 Nebesa oznanjajo pravico njegovo; tako da vidijo vsa ljudstva čast njegovo.

The heavens declare his righteousness. All the peoples have seen his glory.

7 Osramoté se naj vsi, ki se ponašajo z maliki; klanjajo naj se mu vsi angeli.

Let all them be shamed who serve engraved images, who boast in their idols. Worship him, all you gods.

8 Čuje in veseli se naj Sijon, in radujejo se hčere Judovske, zavoljo sodeb tvojih, Gospod.

Zion heard and was glad. The daughters of Judah rejoiced, because of your judgments, YHWH.

9 Ti namreč si Gospod, vzvišen nad vso zemljo; silno povišan si nad vse angele.

For you, YHWH, are most high above all the earth. You are exalted far above all gods.

10 Kateri ljubite Gospoda, sovražite húdo; duše svojih, katerim izkazuje milost, hrani, iz rok krivičnih jih otima.

You who love YHWH, hate evil. He preserves the souls of his faithful ones. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Luč se je rodila pravičnemu, in poštenim v srci radost.

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Veselite se, pravični v Gospodu, in slavite spomin svetosti njegove.

Be glad in YHWH, you righteous people. Give thanks to his holy Name.
