Psalmi 36
1 Načelniku godbe; pesem hlapca Gospodovega, Davida. Beseda pregrehe krivičnega je v srca mojega globočini: Pred očmi njegovimi ni strahu Božjega.
To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, [that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.
2 Slepí se v svojih očéh, ko doseže krivico svojo, katero naj bi sovražil.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity is found to be hateful.
3 Besede ust njegovih so prazne in zvijačne; rabiti jenja razum, da bi delal dobro.
The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit: he hath ceased to be wise, [and] to do good.
4 Ničemurnost misli v postelji svoji, stopa na pot, ki ni dobra: hudega ne zameta.
He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.
5 Gospod, v nebesih je milost tvoja, zvestoba tvoja noter do gornjih oblakov.
Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] to the clouds.
6 Pravica tvoja kakor največje gore, sodbe tvoje valovi veliki; ljudî in živali ohranjaš, Gospod.
Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
7 Kako dražestna je milost tvoja, Bog, ko sinovi človeški pribegajo v senco peróti tvojih.
How excellent [is] thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8 Preobilno se napolnjujejo z obilostjo hiše tvoje, in iz potoka svojih slasti jih napajaš.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9 Ker pri tebi je življenja vir, v svetlobi tvoji uživamo svetlobo.
For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 Pomóli milost svojo njim, ki te spoznavajo, in pravico svojo pravičnim v srci.
O continue thy loving-kindness to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Ne zadeni me prevzetnega noga, in roka krivičnih naj me ne zapelje, da zaidem.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
12 Ko padejo hudodelniki, zaženó se tako, da ne morejo vstati.
There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
