Psalmi 3
1 Psalm Davidov, ko je bežal pred Absalomom, sinom svojim. Gospod, koliko je sovražnikov mojih, koliko jih vstaja proti meni!
A psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom. How many, Lord, are my foes! Those who rise up against me are many.
2 Koliko jih govori za dušo mojo: Ni je pomoči njej v Bogu nobene.
Many are those who say of me, ‘There is no help for him in his God.’ (Selah)
3 Ti pa, Gospod, ščit si meni, slava moja, in glavo mojo vzdiguješ.
But you, Lord, are shield about me, my glory, who lifts up my head.
4 Z glasom svojim vpijočemu v Gospoda odgovoril mi je z gore svetosti svoje.
When loudly I call to the Lord, from his holy hill he gives answer. (Selah)
5 Jaz sem ležal in spal, zbudil sem se, ker Gospod me podpira.
I laid down and slept: now I wake, for the Lord sustains me.
6 Ne bodem se bal ljudstva tisočin, katere bodo okrog razpostavili proti meni.
I fear not the myriads of people who beset me on every side.
7 Vstani, Gospod; reši me, moj Bog, ki si udaril vse sovražnike moje po čeljusti, zobe zdrobil krivičnim.
Arise, Lord: save me, my God, who strikes all my foes on the cheek, and shatters the teeth of the wicked.
8 Gospodovo je rešenje; nad ljudstvom tvojim blagoslov tvoj!
Victory belongs to the Lord: let your blessing descend on your people. (Selah)
