Psalmi 148

1 Aleluja! Hvalite Gospoda, nebeščani, hvalite ga v višavah.

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights.

2 Hvalite ga vsi angeli njegovi, hvalite ga vse vojske njegove.

Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts.

3 Hvalita ga solnce in mesec; hvalite ga vse svetle zvezde.

Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all stars of light.

4 Hvalite ga nebes nebésa, in vode, katere so nad tem nebom.

Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens.

5 Hvali naj ime Gospodovo, kar je na povelje njegovo ustvarjeno bilo takoj.

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were made.

6 Kar je ustanovil vekomaj, na veke; dal je zapoved, katere naj nobeno ne prestopi.

And he fixed them for ever and ever by a law which they dare not transgress.

7 Hvalite Gospoda, zemeljske stvari; zmaji in brezna vsa.

Praise the Lord from the earth: you depths, with your monsters, all.

8 Ogenj in toča, sneg in sopara, veter viharni spolnjujoč besedo njegovo.

Fire, hail, snow and ice, and stormy wind doing his word.

9 Same gore in hribi, drevesa rodovitna, cedre vse;

All you mountains and hills, all you fruit trees and cedars,

10 Same zveri in živina vsa, laznina in tiči krilati.

all you wild beasts and tame, creeping things, birds on the wing.

11 Kralji zemeljski in narodi vsi; knezi in vsi zemljé sodniki.

All you kings and nations of earth; all you princes and judges of earth:

12 Mladeniči in tudi device, starci z dečki

young men and maidens together, old men and children together.

13 Hvalijo naj ime Gospodovo, ker vzvišeno je njega samega ime; lepota njegova nad zemljo in nebo.

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted. Over heaven and earth is his glory.

14 In rog povišuje svojemu ljudstvu, hvalo vseh, katere sprejema prijazno, Izraelcev, ljudstva bližnjega njemu. Aleluja!

He has lifted his people to honor. Wherefore this chorus of praise from his saints, from Israel, the people who stand in his fellowship. Hallelujah.
